Missing Airliner (2 Viewers)

I want Beaufighter to weigh in on this. I was with him at the Westcoaster when this first happened and I want to know his expert pilot thoughts as of now.

The Malaysian PM has announced that, based on satellite readings, the plane crashed into the ocean. Although this may explain what happened, it doesn't explain the why and it's likely we may never know.

Just heard today that the lawyers are looking to sue Boeing as well as the carrier? How can they sue the airline when there is not a single piece of evidence that it was mechanical malfunction? --- Larry

This is going to be a classic case of lawyers flinging poo in every direction and seeing to whom it sticks. It will go on for years. -- Al

Maybe they are just jumping on the bandwagon and hoping Boeing will settle out of court rather than
runnjng up huge legal fees. It should be interesting as to where they are going to get their expert testimony.
Opinions are a dime a dozen if you listen to the myriad of pundits proliferating the news channels every hour
on the hour for some three weeks now..... Then again, I suppose it depends whether or not the suit is brought
by a reputable law firm or an ambulance chaser. Either way consumers will end up paying the cost.

I believe that anytime there is a plane disaster, there are lawsuits.

Yes that was the article but it was in a local newspaper that probably pick up the lead. .... CRAZY!

No offence to any of the fine, honorable and honest people in the legal profession here or abroad (on the forum) but darn, they haven't even recovered ONE piece of the 777 plane or even found the "Black Box" and these SHARKS are saying it was Mechanical failure.... HOW???

Amazes me that people so soon after loosing loved ones think of money..................^&confuse^&confuse

Anytime anything happens there is a lawsuit.

The above statement brings to mind something that I just read recently. There is a person, I believe in Texas who is sueing first responders because there was a flash flood and he was trapped in his car for 2 hours. He is claiming that first responders took too long to find him and then free him. Even tho they saved his life! But that,s not all, the "victim" appears to be hispanic and when the commentator ask him about his citizenship the attorney jumped in and said that is irrevelent to this case. The guy is in this country illegally!

Regarding the law suit I saw an article that mentioned the family allegedly involved had denied they had instructed the law firm concerned.

Any ambulance chaser type law firm trying to sue Malaysian Airlines and Boeing better have deep pockets. Hard to prove Boeing capable in any way. From what I have picked up it must have been deliberate human control to get the plane to where it ended up as it apparently made three turns. Not sure how a USA law firm can start proceedings in the USA against a Malaysian business. Another aspect is the airline is Govt owned so good luck with any court case in Malaysia. Same goes for getting information from the Malaysian Govt that might be against their interests.

Interesting that Australia is now saying any items recovered will be taken to Australia for examination and investigation. Apparently Australia only has one ship involved in the area and the Chinese five. Hopefully the Chinese take any items to Australia or the investigation going to get messier than it is already.

Hopefully they can find the black box but time is running out and still have to identify point of impact.

As Malaysian Airlines flies into the United States, they are subject to US jurisdiction under well settled theories of in personam jurisdiction, with which I will not bore you. This has nothing to do with the merits, however.

This article by Roger Cohen in the New York Times sums up my attitude about CNN's pathetic coverage, http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/25/opinion/cohen-story-of-the-century.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

In the name of ratings, they now begin every program with the phrase "Breaking News!," when there is obviously none, an utter travesty of the term. Their so-called reporters follow the company line and spend time on little else. Presumably and hopefully (for their sake), the same pilots and aviation experts who they trot out, day after day, show after show, are getting paid handsomely for their time.

Agree Brad.......Yeah...."Breaking News".:rolleyes2:...The plane flew into the black hole of the Bermuda Triangle{eek3}.....The media is very dependable to keep us in the dark and present the "approved story" ....and yet still keep us watching the network news all day long....It's all about the ratings.....Walter Cronkite would be turning over in his grave if he could see what current journalism has become in this country.

He has his own share of responsibility for the state of news broadcasting today.

I think you got it wrong. They must be shouting "Broken News" and not "Breaking News"

Some of the talking heads seem to know what they are talking about, but they get cut off by the hosts when they get too sensible. Some of the talking heads seem clueless but are left to babble on. But CNNs ratings are up so a lot of people are watching, after all, it's just like a reality show. They may even interview Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ask her where she thinks the plane is.

Probably Very True... Today one does not have to look to far to see who owns and controls network news and information released....Corporate America and the Lobbying groups runs it all; including the US government.
