The Dodgers and Yankees each have $117mil worth of payroll on their injured lists.

Yet they are both in first place in their divisions.

MLB needs a salary cap.

It will never happen, players union will never go for it.
 
Only the owners self discipline can keep the salaries down and you see how that's been.

I was looking at the standings and I noticed that the season is already over the 1/4 point.

Nothing sums up the state of MLB in 2025 more than this quote from a radio host on the Giant’s radio station.

“The Giants placed Justin Verlander on the 15 day DL. He is 0-3 with a 4.33 ERA. He is only making $15mil this year.

Only $15 mil for 3 losses in 10 games?

Ouch.
