Again Rob's bad influence told me I needed a Normandy Tilly in addition to my RAF one. When I saw it in a shop today I realised he was right!
With all the aggro lately just by looking at this little group makes me remember why I love this hobby.

Well said mate...the bit about about why you love the hobby I mean...not me being a bad influence!:D

Really nice scene there James, they do go so well together:cool:

Eazy...

Excellent pics and great sets. That Monty pose is brilliant captures him so well. Thanks for posting the pics.

Very well done James. I like it. Yes, Rob is a bad'n, isn't he ;)

Cheers Guys.
Also this week I bought this five man grey German patrol. I mainly got this one before the price goes up as they are a couple of sets I've wanted for a while but never got around to. These figures are really nice- extremely detailed especially as they are carrying a lot of kit. I think these grey Germans from a few years back didn't quite get the praise they deserved and slipped under the radar.
I have the other two sets "moving forward" and "get ready" manning my atlantic wall bunker!

Nice sets James, they did slip under the radar a bit but look good.

Great sets and particularly like the Flak gun behind. I like the guy with the stick a great figure

Yep that flak gun is an impressive vehicle. I remember at the time it seemed a lot of money- £199 for a massive vehicle and 5 figures! You'd practically have to double that figure for something similar produced now.

Yep just 3 weeks to go should be a good get together as always! Especially in the bar!

Yeah I like those figures too, lots of character & kit very cool mate. Nice close-up pic too. Also I spy the mounted 88 & crew in the back ground. Have always liked it, but heard some negative things about it. Whats it like as a model??

It's a good model which is pretty accurate for the 12 or so that were built. And it was involved in historic battles with British tanks (I think under Rommel vs Matildas) which is where he learned to use 88's against tanks - something he used so effectively in North Afrika. They also were used against the well armoured CharB bis and Suoma tanks of the French. The big annoyance for me is it should be GREY and the gunner's uniforms should be early war. Even for the first year of Barbarossa.

I'd say if you like the look of it then go for it despite the innacuracies. I think when you collect K&C you have to accept some artistic licence. Personally I'd say with this piece you are getting a lot for your money- a big detailed model and 5 figures. Best of all it just looks cool. :)

Thanks Terry & Eazy for your feedback its appreciated guys!:)

I'm a big fan of the 88, but sadly missed out on purchasing the early K&C summer version & accompaning 8 ton halftrack. Both seem to go for crazy prices now:eek:

The new BoB 88 looks fantastic, but I'd prefer a "summer/desert" version.:D

Cheers Toddy
