THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT---Robert Rodriguez will be the director/executive producer of the Disney+ spinoff series. Star Temuera Morrison said the series will include, "some great directors...[Jon] Favreau, Bryce [Dallas Howard], Dave Filoni." He also commented on additional seasons for THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, "There's been talk about it."

ARMY OF THIEVES---synopsis and photo released from the Zack Snyder/Netflix prequel to ARMY OF THE DEAD, “In this prequel to Zack Snyder's ARMY OF THE DEAD, small-town bank teller Dieter gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals, attempting to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.”
Also, REBEL MOON is a new Zack Snyder/Netflix movie about a young woman on a distant planet's colony who is sent to recruit warriors to defend the colony fro the armies of tyrant Balisarias.

INDEPENDENCE DAY---Roland Emmerich said he wants to a third installment of the alien invasion movie, “They have now a streaming service and they need product. I would love to do maybe a third one, or a TV show, continuing the story. When we did ‘Independence Day: Resurgence,’ we already had, also, the third part already. Actually, the third part has much more to do with the first part, because we learned, more or less, that out there are a lot of refugees and they’re living on a refugee planet.
And where [the aliens] finally come there because, somewhat like these aliens on earth, found out about it and telepathically or whatever gave it to their super queen. They’re all humans, but in all different forms. So it’s this thing that we have Brent Spiner and Jeff Goldblum and we have them with all these different forms of people, which would be a great movie. But we’ll see what happens.”

STARS AT NOON---Taron Egerton and Margaret Qualley will star in this movie about a man working for a shay British oil company who hooks up with a struggling female reporter during the turmoil of 1980s Nicaragua.

APRIL 29, 1992---Ray Liotta, Scott Eastwood and Tyrese Gibson will star in this movie about a custodian and his son who get involved in a heist gone awry during the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles.

BATGIRL---Firefly is reportedly one of the villains in the movie.

BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS---Adult Swim animated tv series with a voice cast including Jessica Henwick, Brian Cox , Josh Duhamel and Gregg Henry.

JOE EXOTIC---Kyle McLachlan will play Howard Baskin, Carole Baskin's husband, in the Peacock miniseries.

FIREBRAND---Michelle Williams will star in this biomovie about Catherine Parr, the sixth and last wife of Henry VIII.

TRIVIA---character actor Simon Oakland may be best known for playing newspaper Tony Vincenzo who was always skeptical about reporter Carl Kolchak's claims of deadly vampires, aliens, zombies and other creatures in the NIGHT STALKER tv franchise. Ironically, Oakland played an alien from the planet Empyria in THE OUTER LIMITS episode "Second Chance".

ARGYLLE---Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, Dua Lipa and John Cena will star in this Matthew Vaughn movie based on the upcoming spy novel. Vaughn said, “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the ’50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”

BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR---Lea Seydoux claimed director Abdellatif Kechiche manipulated her and co-star Adele Exarchopoulous during filming of the lesbian movie and filmed them when they were unaware of it, "It was very difficult to make... because Kechiche is crazy. He was manipulating us, and that was extremely difficult on a psychological level."
After she criticized him during media interviews, Kechiche threatened to sue her. She was not allowed to see the film initially until the head of the Cannes Film Festival let her see it, "I thought, 'Oh God, this is c**p. He had cut almost half of the film. We shot so many scenes that aren't in the film. I thought it would be the end of everything for me."

GUYS AND DOLLS---remake underway of the 1955 movie musical that starred Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. Bill Condon (DREAMGIRLS) is the director.

EVIL---Paramount+ renewed the series for Season 3.

INDIANA JONES 5---photos from the film set in Glasgow show a scene set in New York with a store sign welcoming Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins after Armstrong became the first man to walk on the Moon. A New York ticker tape parade for the astronauts was on August 13, 1969. A second store sign is for the now-defunct Pan American Airlines which was headquartered in New York.

THE TOMORROW WAR 2---Amazon Studios is in talks to develop a sequel to the alien invasion movie with Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, JK Simmons and director Chris McKay returning.

DARK WINDS---Zahn McClarnon (FARGO) will star in this AMC tv series based on the Leaphorn and Chee crime novels. Season 1 will be about two Navajo cops investigating two grisly murders. Robert Redford and George RR Martin are the executive producers.

MOONHAVEN---Dominic Monaghan will star in this AMC six-part sci fi miniseries set on the Moon in the 22nd century where a private detective and a female lunar cargo pilot team up to fight a conspiracy to use the AI on the utopian Moonhaven lunar colony to threaten Earth.

NIGHTMARE ALLEY---the Guillermo del Toro movie starring Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett received an R-rating for, “strong/bloody violence, some sexual content, nudity, and language.”

THE OFFER---Justin Chambers (GREY'S ANATOMY) will play Marlon Brando in the Paramount+ miniseries about the making of THE GODFATHER.

LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE---Javier Bardem will star in this Sony Pictures live-action/CGI movie about a New York family and their pet crocodile who is forced to be put in a zoo by a neighbor where the crocodile becomes a hero.

RUTHERFORD FALLS---Peacock renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---Academy Award-winning Audrey Hepburn starred in BLOODLINE which is the only R-rated movie she ever appeared in.
Although BLOODLINE was based on the best-selling Sidney Sheldon novel and had an all-star cast of Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, James Mason, Omar Sharif, Romy Schneider and Gert Frobe, the movie was a box office bomb.

BASIC INSTINCT---director Paul Verhoeven denied Sharon Stone's claim that he tricked her into filming the famous flashing scene, "We are on good terms, Sharon and I, at the moment, so I would put that in the category of 'My memory is this, and your memory is that.' My memory is that it (that scene) is all based on a woman that I met when I was a student in Leiden, at the university. She would do that - she would come up to us and she would open her legs. My friend and I saw her doing that, so went up to her and said something like, 'We can see your vagina.' And then she said, 'Of course - that's why I'm doing it!' I told that story to Sharon when we were having dinner together during the shoot, and she thought it would be (a) great idea to do that. So, that's my memory."
He added, "She heard the story, and you know, in Joe Eszterhas' script, there was already a mention of that in dialogue that he wrote between Michael Douglas and Sharon - they're in the car, after the interrogation. It's raining, and Sharon says to Michael, 'You know I don't like to wear any underwear, don't you, Nick?' That line was in the script, and when you see the scene just before the interrogation, you see (she is getting dressed). Michael is looking at that, and she puts her dress on, and she has no underwear. So that was already in the script, but, of course, the scene (where she would uncross her legs) was not in the script. That came into the movie when I discussed it with Sharon, when I told her the story. I know her story is a bit different, but that's my story."

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER---Taika Waititi commented on the sequel, “I’ve done some crazy s–t in my life. I’ve lived, like, ten lifetimes. But it’s the craziest film I’ve ever done. If you wrote down all the elements of this film, it shouldn’t make sense. It’s almost like it shouldn’t be made. If you walked into a room and said, ‘I want this and this and this.’ Who’s in it? These people. What are you going to call it? LOVE AND THUNDER. I mean, you’d never work again. Maybe I won’t after this.”

SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN---Mike Flanagan (DOCTOR SLEEP) is developing a Netflix tv series based on the horror comic book.

TV MOVIES---Lionsgate is remaking a number of tv movies including the 1996 THE BABYSITTER'S SEDUCTION which starred Keri Russell and the 2000 SEX AND MRS. X which starred Linda Hamilton and Jacqueline Bisset.

BAD LIEUTENANT---six spinoff movies underway based on the 1992 Harvey Keitel corrupt cop movie. Each spinoff will be set in a different country with a different cop.

In GOLDFINGER, model/actress Tania Mallet played Tilly Masterson, who seeks revenge on Auric Goldfinger after he had her sister, Jill, fatally painted in gold. Mallet's cousin is actress Helen Mirren.
After Mallet's death in 2019, Mirren said, “I was very sad to lose my cousin Tania this week. Tania was my aunt Olga’s daughter, and my sister and I grew up with her. She showed her Russian heritage in her very beautiful bone structure and eyes, that made her into one of the top models of the early ’60s. However she was never vain, but a kind and generous person who used her model earnings to put her half brothers through school. She was a great optimist and always looked on life with positivity.”

CHARIOT---Joseph Kosinski (TRON: LEGACY, TOP GUN: MAVERICK) will direct this Warner Bros. movie based on the graphic novel about a petty criminal who discovers an exotic sports car that contains the soul of a dead superspy.

BABYLON---Jean Smart will play a top Hollywood film critic in this Damien Chazelle movie that stars Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Tobey Maguire and Olivia Wilde.

SUPERHEROES---James Gunn commented on the current wave of superhero movies, “They’re mostly boring to me right now! [Laughs]. I loved them at the beginning and there are still people trying to do different things [with them], so it’s not a 100% rule, but a lot of them are boring.”

SPIDER-MAN---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige commented on the SPIDER-MAN deal between Marvel and Sony Pictures, "There was a time when it looked like Marvel Studios would not be involved in Spider-Man movies going forward for Sony. It was only a few months, but it was an emotional few months for, I think, all of us on all sides. And a very public few months for whatever reason. I always want to look at the bright side, and the bright side is we got to make two great Spider-Man movies with Amy Pascal and [director] Jon Watts and [Sony Pictures MPG Chairman] Tom Rothman and Tom Holland, and I was very proud of that and very happy with that, and of course, wanted it to continue. I always want to be happy with what we have, instead of upset with what we don't."
He added, "Luckily, Tom Rothman, and [then-Disney CEO] Bob Iger, and [Disney Studios Chairman] Alan Horn, and [then-Walt Disney Studios President] Alan Bergman, and Tom Holland himself all realized, 'Wouldn't it just be more fun if we just kept doing it? Let's not get business or politics in the way.'Because the deal always started with Amy Pascal and I having nothing to do with numbers, or contracts, or politics. It had to do with story, and a love of Spider-Man and Peter Parker and the Marvel universe. It thankfully has continued like that, and that's where we find ourselves now."

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS---Bruce Campbell commented on rumors that he will be in the sequel, "I would say that's a pretty good rumor. I think that won't get me sued. That's a pretty good rumor, yeah.
Look, I think it's a standing rule that Sam Raimi, his movies are not good if I'm not in them. If Sam wants a good movie he'll put me in it. But you never know [with] these epic movies what's going to stay or go in the course of telling these huge stories, so I don't know. That's why I keep it cryptic because (A) I don't want to get sued but (B) I don't want to say, "Yeah, hey, tune in!" and then they go, "Where were you, idiot?" But I always enjoy working with my old friend, Mr. Director."

THE WHEEL OF TIME---Zack Stentz (THOR, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) will write the first movie in the trilogy based on THE WHEEL OF TIME novels.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 14

STAR TREK---Matt Shakman (WANDAVISION) will direct the next STAR TREK movie which will probably be in the Kelvin Timeline and might have Chris Pine returning as Captain Kirk. Paramount Pictures head Emma Watts was reportedly influential in getting Shakman the job and offered him a number of projects to choose from. He picked the STAR TREK movie. The script was written by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet which makes it the first all female-written movie in the franchise.

DEXTER---Jennifer Carpenter is returning for the Showtime 10-part revival miniseries.
Also, John Lithgow commented on his cameo as the Trinity Killer, “We saw the end of the Trinity Killer so that by definition means it’s a flashback." He added, "I learned that it’s completely different from [the original series]. Kind of like Perry Mason, it’s a reimagination. They don’t take it into a different era, but it’s in a different part of the world, a different part of the country, and a whole new cast of characters… there are all sorts of wonderful surprises and callbacks from the first few seasons.”

THE BOYS---showrunner Eric Kripke commented on the upcoming Season 3, “I still think the craziest thing we’ve ever done is in Episode 1. That said, ‘Herogasm,’ the dailies are bananas. I’ve been around the block a few times. I’m a seasoned producer. Every single day on those dailies, my jaw was on the floor. I just could not believe how insane those dailies were. It’s just crazy. I can tell you that for anybody who is a fan of the comic and is expecting to see Herogasm, we are delivering it. That is happening.”

THE ROSIE PROJECT---Henry Cavill will star in this Sony Pictures romantic comedy movie about a lonely professor who develops a questionnaire to find the perfect woman, but he discovers the woman picked doesn't really match any of his "requirements".

DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS---Tom Hiddleston is reportedly returning as Loki in the sequel.

LOKI---Disney+ renewed the series for Season 2.

TIGER KING---Nicholas Cage said Amazon has shelved the Joe Exotic miniseries, “I read two excellent scripts, which I did think were excellent, but I think Amazon ultimately felt that it was material that had become past tense because it took so long for it come together. They felt at one point that it was lightning in a bottle, but that point has since faded into the distance and it’s no longer relevant.” Sources say the miniseries will be shopped to other outlets.

TRIVIA---two actors who played the doomed astronauts in the original PLANET OF THE APES also appeared in the Derek Flint spy movies. Robert Gunner played astronaut Landon in PLANET OF THE APES, and he played secret agent 0008 in OUR MAN FLINT. Jeff Burton played astronaut Dodge in PLANET OF THE APES, and he played a Secret Service Agent in IN LIKE FLINT.

INDIANA JONES 5---Phoebe Waller-Bridge was photographed in a 1960s outfit on the Glasgow film set.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3---James Gunn said VOL. 3 will probably be his last Marvel movie, "I have no clue what I’m going to do. For me, GUARDIANS 3 is probably the last one. I don’t know about doing it again. I do find, because of the ability to do different stuff in the DC multiverse, it’s fun. They’re starting to really resemble their comic books. The Marvel Universe has always been a little more cohesive, and DC has always had more great single runs. They had THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. They had WATCHMEN. They had THE KILLING JOKE. They had Alan Moore’s SWAMP THING. The fact that they did JOKER, which is a totally different type of movie, that to me is cool. I’m very excited about Matt’s movie [THE BATMAN, Matt Reeves]. They’re getting some really good filmmakers involved."

THE BATMAN---Colin Farrell commented on playing The Penguin in the reboot movie, “I’m only in it for five or six scenes so I can’t wait to see the film because it won’t be ruined by my presence… Like really it’s a freebie for me. I’ll get a little bit uncomfortable for the f—- nine minutes I have and then the rest of it. I cannot wait to see how he brought this world to life.”

L.A.CONFIDENTIAL 2---Brian Helgeland, writer of the original movie, said he teamed with the novel's writer, James Ellroy, to write a sequel several years ago. He got Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce and Chadwick Boseman to be in the cast. However, Warner Bros. was not interested, “We worked the whole thing out. It was great. And Warners passed.”

THE SYMPATHIZER---Robert Downey, Jr. will play several roles in this HBO series based on the novel about a half-French, half-Vietnamese Communist spy during the end of the Vietnam War who leaves for the US and gets involved in a movie about the Vietnam war and is recruited for a mission to attack his former comrades in Vietnam. Downey will play a Congressman, a CIA agent and a Hollywood director.

THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR---Wes Took (MIDWAY) will write the script for the latest remake of the movie that starred Steve McQueen and Faye dunaway. Michael B. Jordan will star in the new remake.

MOONSHOT---Zach Braff will play an Elon Musk-type tech billionaire in the HBO Max romantic comedy movie about a colony on Mars.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4---Ian McShane is confirmed to be returning to the sequel.

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERE OF MADNESS---Elizabeth Olsen commented on the sequel, "It’s a very scary movie. It’s like old Sam Raimi. They’re trying to create the scariest Marvel movie."

TRIVIA---University of California-Berkeley professor-turned-actor Morris Ankrum battled invading aliens in INVADERS FROM MARS and EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS. His son, David Ankrum, also battled invading aliens as the voice of Wedge Antilles in STAR WARS and ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY.

Or kept me out, how about that? So that’s all I know about that, but maybe I’ll be able to tease 8 when that comes along.”

LOKI---director Kate Herron said she is not returning for Season 2, “I’m not returning. I always planned to be just on for this and to be honest, Season 2 wasn’t in the – that’s something that just came out and I’m so excited. I’m really happy to watch it as a fan next season, but I just think I’m proud of what we did here and I’ve given it my all. I’m working on some other stuff yet to be announced.”
She added, “I love Marvel and I’d love to work with them again, but my outing with LOKI is what I’ve done with them.”

BLACK WIDOW---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige commented on the Marvel futures of Rachel Weisz and David Harbour, "It is always the intention that when characters come in, and great great actors come in to the universe, if we have a great time with them, the audience did, that you always want to see them again. I think it's a safe bet that we definitely want that to happen."

BLACK WIDOW---BLACK WIDOW's second weekend earned $26.5 million which is a 67% drop from the premiere weekend. The 67% drop exceeds the drops of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING and ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. The National Association of Theater Owners blamed Walt Disney for the huge drop because it also premiered BLACK WIDOW on Disney+'s Premier Access, “Despite assertions that this pandemic-era improvised release strategy was a success for Disney and the simultaneous release model, it demonstrates that an exclusive theatrical release means more revenue for all stakeholders in every cycle of the movie’s life.
The many questions raised by Disney’s limited release of streaming data opening weekend are being rapidly answered by Black Widow’s disappointing and anomalous performance. The most important answer is that simultaneous release is a pandemic-era artifact that should be left to history with the pandemic itself.”

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige commented on Sam Raimi returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Being in a position that Sam is back in the Marvel universe and working for us on Doctor Strange, which aside from Spider-Man – both Steve Ditko co-creations – was his favorite character, is really quite remarkable and full circle for me personally from my journey at Marvel. But really, it’s just exciting to get to watch Sam work again and to see Sam Raimi put his Sam Raimi stamp on Doctor Strange, on the Multiverse, on Marvel.
For people who know what that stamp is, they can be very excited. And for people who don’t yet know what that stamp is, I can’t wait for them to see this movie, be blown away by it, and go, ‘What else has he done?’, and delve into Sam Raimi’s filmography – which is one of the best of all time.”
Feige also commented on if Sony Pictures' Venom will appear in a Marvel movie. “I don’t want to obviously talk about rumors or speculation on what could happen and what couldn’t happen as it relates to any characters that Marvel Studios hasn’t brought to the screen yet,” Feige said. “But I will say what I’ve always said, which is having been with Marvel for 20 years I wouldn’t dismiss anything. I wouldn’t rule anything out completely. When and how and where remains to be seen. Any rumor that you read online could happen anytime between tomorrow and never."

Pytka said the sequel's portrayal of Bugs Bunny was "heartbreaking".

ARMY OF THE DEAD---Zack Snyder and co-writer Shay Hatten are in early stages of developing a sequel to the Netflix zombie movie.

FANTASTIC FOUR---Marvel fans want John Krasinski and his wife, Emily Blunt, to play Reed and Sue Richards in the reboot movie. Blunt commented," I really understand that [superhero movies] are like a religion for a lot of people. They don’t appeal to me in the same way. I don’t have this burning desire to play a superhero."
Blunt was supposed to play Black Widow in IRON MAN 2, but she left due to a schedule problem.

THE WALKING DEAD---producer/director Greg Nicotero commented on the status of the Rick Grimes movies, "I wish I knew, and I wish I could say [when it's happening]. ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK---on the 40th anniversary of the cult classic Kurt Russell movie, John Carpenter commented on a possible sequel, “He’s a character that Kurt is passionately fond of. He convinced me to do the sequel. There’s probably a third or maybe even fourth story about Snake. I don’t know if we’ll ever make it, but I think that he deserves it.”

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY---Jason Blum confirmed the untitled reboot movie has been completed, “The movie’s done. Yeah, we did it.”
He added, "Paramount wanted to continue PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, I probably would have left it alone. So they wanted to continue it, but I thought if they were gonna continue it, you gotta – it was tired, there was no way to continue the road that we’d been down.
So I really encouraged all the creative people involved to think of something new. A lot of people who are going to go see the new Paranormal Activity were 3 years old when the first PARANORMAL ACTIVITY came out, so they don’t even know from those older movies.
I thought if you were going to re-do it, you better really re-do it, not try and expand what we did all those years ago.”

I love Scarlett, though, I heard she’s going to be a mom so I wish her the best and she’s an old friend of mine so I felt bad about that comment.
I haven’t seen [BLACK WIDOW], I don’t really go to those movies. I liked IRON MAN, I like when they go a little darker. I love the JOKER. I’m looking forward to the new BATMAN. I don’t think that the exec that I was speaking to is there anymore. But they had a draft written. As far as I know, it’s not happening. It’s been a long time. I don’t think so. I think it was in development at one point, I should say. But that happens in Hollywood all the time."

DOCTOR WHO---the BBC confirmed that Jodie Whitaker and showrunner Chris Chibnall will be leaving the series in 2022. The BBC said Season 13 wil be a six-part series, and Whitaker will return in 2022 for three specials with the third special having Whitaker regenerate into the new Doctor Who.
Whitaker said, “In 2017 I opened my glorious gift box of size 13 shoes. I could not have guessed the brilliant adventures, worlds and wonders I was to see in them. My heart is so full of love for this show, for the team who make it, for the fans who watch it and for what it has brought to my life. BLACK WIDOW---Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company claiming Disney's decision to premiere the movie in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access depressed ticket sales. Johansson's contract includes financial compensation tied to ticket sales, and her lawsuit alleges the lower ticket sales may have cost her $50 million. Walt Disney replied the theatrical/Disney+ release, “significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20 million she has received to date.”
THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER editor Matthew Belloni reports that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is also angry at Disney, "[Feige is] a company man, and not prone to corporate showdowns or shouting matches. But I’m told he’s angry and embarrassed. He lobbied Disney against the day-and-date plan for Black Widow, preferring the big screen exclusivity and not wanting to upset his talent. And then when the ***** hit the fan, the movie started tanking, and Johansson’s team threatened litigation, he wanted Disney to make this right with her."
Emma Stone is reportedly considering a similar lawsuit against Disney after her CRUELLA was premiered in theaters and on Disney+ Premiere Access with only respectable box office results.

SUICIDE SQUAD---David Ayer commented on studio cut of his 2016 movie, "I never told my side of the story and never will… I’m old school like that. So I kept my mouth shut and took the tsunami of sometimes shocking personal criticism. I put my life into Suicide Squad. I made something amazing. My cut is intricate and emotional journey with some bad people who are s–t on and discarded (a theme that resonates in my soul).
The studio cut is not my movie. Read that again. And my cut is not the ten-week director’s cut – it’s a fully mature edit by Lee Smith standing on the incredible work by John Gilroy. TRIVIA---Tobe Hooper's horror classic POLTERGEIST has a reputation for being a cursed movie and one of the reasons for the curse was the controversy that real skeletons might have been used in the Jo Beth Williams swimming pool scene. Williams said, "You have to understand that this sequence took probably four or five days to shoot. So I was in mud and goop all day every day for like four or five days with skeletons all around me [as I was] screaming. In my innocence and naiveté, I assumed that these were not real skeletons. I assumed that they were prop skeletons made out of plastic or rubber. I found out — as did the whole crew — that they were using real skeletons, because it’s far too expensive to make fake skeletons out of rubber. And I think everybody got real creeped out by the idea of that."
Special effects makeup artist Craig Reardon settled the controversy, "I acquired a number of actual biological surgical skeletons is what they’re called. They’re for hanging in classrooms in study. These are actual skeletons from people. I think the bones are acquired from India.
But at any rate, we got 13 of these. And we dressed them so that they looked not like bleached, clean, bolted together skeletons but instead, disintegrating cadavers. And, you know, added sculptured rubber and things to them so they would have a kind of dramatic leering spooky aspect and not be dull — what am I trying to say — clinical type corpses, you know."
