MARVEL STUDIOS---Robert Downey, Jr. replied to Quentin Tarantino's comment that Marvel movie actors are not movie stars, "I think that creatively it is a waste of time to be at war with ourselves. I think this is a time when everything is so much more fragmented now that I think you have this kind of bifurcation. Throwing stones one way or another ... and I've had my reactions in the past when people said things that I felt were discrediting my integrity ... I go, 'You know what? Let's just get over it. We're all a community. There's enough room for everything,' and thank God for TOP GUN: MAVERICK and AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER. That's all I have to say. We need the big stuff to make room for films like ARMAGEDDON TIME."

THE WITCHER---showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich commented on fan criticism of Henry Cavill leaving, "It's a big deal for us, too... And that's the thing – there's a lot of talk and rumors about, and we fully understand why fans are going there. What I will say is please come back for THE WITCHER Season 3 so that we can continue to do this. Obviously, that [Cavill's departure] is huge news. But what I don't want to do is – this has to stay about BLOOD ORIGIN, Declan [de Barra, BLOOD ORIGIN's showrunner], the cast, and the crew. This is their time in the spotlight."
She also commented on Season 3, "What I want to say is: I did hear the fans. And S3 very much shows that shift back to the books, following Sapkowski’s amazing character journeys of our mains. I’m super excited for people to see it, and to feel heard. (We also answer a lot of questions from the first two seasons — Cahir’s journey, the introduction of the Scoia’tael, and how our family comes back together.) I also think that S3 will calm a lot of the speculation that’s going on right now — if only we could get there sooner!"

WEDNESDAY---the Addams Family spinoff series had over 752 million viewing hours in 13 days which makes it Netflix's third most-watched English language series ever.

OPERATION BLOOD HUNT---Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Rampage Jackson will star in this World War II horror movie in which an occult expert and a team of military misfits travel to a remote South Pacific island to investigate Marines being killed by Japanese soldiers, but discover they were really killed by werewolves.

AMERICAN PRIMEVAL---Taylor Kitsch will star in this Netflix six-part miniseries described as, “a raw, adventurous exploration of the birth of the American West. The violent collisions of cultures, religions and communities as men and women fight and die for control of this new, lawless and untamed wilderness.” The writer is Mark L. Smith (THE REVENANT) and Peter Berg is the director.

THE HOLIDAY---Kate Winslet denied a British tabloid story that the sequel is underway with the main cast returning, “I read something about that, but it’s the first I’ve heard of it. I promise you not an agent or a representative or anyone from the first one around has had any conversation with me about that. Hand on heart, that’s never come up.”

FBOY ISLAND---HBO Max cancelled the series.

TRIVIA---trivia for the movie TORA! TORA! TORA! on the 81st anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
The World War II epic TORA! TORA! TORA! ended with Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto saying the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor might lead to a protracted war with the United States that Japan could not win, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
Yamamoto's comment in the movie led to a controversy in which most historians doubt Yamamoto ever said those words. Director Richard Fleischer said, "...I was told by [producer] Elmo Williams that Yamamoto never said that, but that it was in his diary. So we took it from the diary." Fleischer assumed the diary had been seen by University of Maryland history professor Gordon W. Prange, who was hired by 20th Century Fox to prepare massive amounts of historical information about the Pearl Harbor attack.
Elmo Willams had a different version of the quote by saying it was, "from a letter written by Yamamoto to a fellow officer several months after the attack on Pearl Harbor while Yamamoto was conducting an inspection of Japanese forces in the Pacific." Williams said screenwriter Larry Forrester got the letter from a Japanese officer during pre-production research in Japan. Williams added about the letter that he had "no idea where it is."
University of Pittsburgh history professor Donald M. Goldstein, who co-wrote two books about Pearl Harbor with Prange, said, "As far as I'm concerned, Yamamoto never had a diary. Furthermore, I can find no evidence that he made or wrote that statement. It just isn't so...Unless somebody else can come up with the quote, it was never said or written."
Goldstein added, "But even if [Yamamoto] didn't say it, it's a hell of a quote."

WONDER WOMAN 3---sources claim DC Studios' new management team of James Gunn and Peter Safran cancelled WONDER WOMAN 3. The sequel “is considered dead in its current incarnation" and it “did not fit in with the new (but still unfolding) plans” for DC. Gunn and Safran informed director Patty Jenkins about the decision after she submitted the latest version of the script.
Speculation that projects featuring superheroes Superman, Aquaman and Black Adam also face the possibility of being cancelled. Sources say if Jason Momoa's Aquaman is cancelled, he might return in a Lobo franchise.

RUSH HOUR 4---Jackie Chan confirmed the fourth movie is underway, “We’re talking about part 4 right now." He said he was meeting with the sequel's director, but he did not name the director.

THE HUNGER GAMES---Jennifer Lawrence received criticism after she claimed she was the first female action star, "I remember when I was doing HUNGER GAMES, nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn't work - because we were told girls and boys can both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead." Fans pointed out Sigourney Weaver in the ALIEN movies, Linda Hamilton in the TERMINATOR movies and others.

PRESUMED INNOCENT---Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in the Apple TV+ miniseries based on the novel. The 1990 movie based on the novel starred Harrison Ford and Greta Scacchi.

FIREBUG---Taron Egerton will star in this Apple TV+ miniseries about ex-fire department arsonist investigator John Leonard Orr who became a serial arsonist that plagued California in the 1980s and 1990s in which four people died.

SHREK 5---Antonio Banderas said the fifth SHREK movie might be in the future, "I’ve been with this cat for almost 20 years. The first time I did PUSS IN BOOTS, I was working on Broadway, so I did my first session there. I’ve done five movies now. There is probably gonna be another, and [Shrek] is probably coming back."

MONARCH---Fox cancelled the series.

TRIVIA---character actor Robert Walden appeared in two movies in which a character named Brubaker was an important part of the movie.
In THE HOSPITAL, Walden played Dr. Brubaker, whose chief of medicine (George C. Scott) investigates who is killing the doctors and nurses in his hospital. WONDER WOMAN 3---after reports that DC Studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran cancelled Patty Jenkins' second sequel, other reports claim Warner Bros heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy had concerns about the sequel script which "had character arc problems which rivalled that of WONDER WOMAN 1984”. They asked Jenkins to rewrite the script, but Jenkins refused and walked away from the sequel.
James Gunn posted his comments on the reports he and co-head Peter Safran cancelled WONDER WOMAN 3 and might cancel other DC superhero projects, “some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, & some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not.”
Gunn added, “Peter & I chose to helm DC Studios knowing we were coming into a fractious environment, both in the stories being told & in the audience itself & there would be an unavoidable transitional period as we moved into telling a cohesive story across film, TV, animation, and gaming.
But, in the end, the drawbacks of that transitional period were dwarfed by the creative possibilities & the opportunity to build upon what has worked in DC so far & to help rectify what has not. We know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the STORY & in the service of the DC CHARACTERS we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives.”
Gunn and Safran also reportedly cancelled a solo Batman movie with Michael Keaton and a younger actor as Terry McGinnis. The writer was Christina Hodson (THE FLASH, BIRDS OF PREY).

WONDER-WOMAN-2.jpg

THE INSTIGATORS---Matt Damon and Casey Affleck will star in this Apple TV+ movie which involves, “two thieves who must go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a robbery goes awry." Doug Liman is the director.

THE DESTROYER---Sony Pictures Television bought the rights to THE DESTROYER novels featuring Remo Williams. The 1985 movie REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS starred Fred Ward.

1923---Sebastian Roche, who plays the headmaster of the School for American Indians in 1923, said the spinoff will include present-day characters, “We’re going to see people who we didn’t know about come into the universe and we are going to recognize certain characters who are now members of the present-day YELLOWSTONE family. In 1883, you saw the genesis of the Dutton family. This is the survival of the family.”

THE COLLECTIVE---Don Johnson, Lucas Till, Tyrese Gibson and Ruby Rose star in this movie about a team of assassins and a rookie who seek to stop a human trafficking ring led by billionaires.

SAW X---Shawnee Smith is reportedly in talks to reunite with Tobin Bell for the latest sequel.

TRACY FLICK CAN'T WIN---Reese Witherspoon is returning for the Paramount+ sequel to the 1999 movie ELECTION based on the novel. The synopsis says, “The ELECTION sequel picks up with Tracy in adulthood as she continues to struggle to fight her way to the top at work. She’s the assistant principal at a public high school in suburban New Jersey, but she sets her sights on the top job as her boss announces plans to retire.”

TRIVIA---Alan Thicke is best known for starring on the tv sitcom GROWING PAINS, but he wrote or co-wrote the themes for two sitcoms (DIFF'RENT STROKES, THE FACTS OF LIFE) and eight tv game shows (THE WIZARD OF ODDS, THE JOKER'S WILD, CELEBRITY SWEEPSTAKES, THE DIAMOND HEAD GAME, ANIMAL CRACKERS, BLANK CHECK, WHEW! and the original theme for WHEEL OF FORTUNE).

SUPERMAN---DC Studios co-head James Gunn replied to a fan's question if a Superman movie will be made soon, “Yes of course. Superman is a huge priority, if not the biggest priority.”
Gunn also replied to another fan who claimed Gunn does not like Henry Cavill, “Sure: false.” When the fan persisted by claiming numerous sources said Gunn does not like Cavill, Gunn replied, “So weird. You seemed so plugged in! Anyway, I just had forty people reach out to me to say you just got kicked out of your Mom’s basement. So sorry, man.”

AVATAR 5---producer Jon Landau said if a fifth movie is made, it will be set on Earth, “I wasn’t going to talk about it, but I’ve now subsequently heard that Jim [Cameron] has talked about it a little bit. In movie five there is a section of the story where we go to Earth. And we go to it to open people’s eyes, open Neytiri’s eyes, to what exists on Earth. Earth is not just represented by the RDA. Just like you’re defined by the choices you make in life, not all humans are bad. Not all Na’vi are good. And that’s the case here on Earth. And we want to expose Neytiri to that.”

HOBBS & SHAW---producer Kelly McCormick commented on a sequel to the FAST & FURIOUS spinoff, “There are no conversations at this time. I do feel like there were a lot of seeds planted to try to create a spinoff in a way that included a Kevin Hart and a Ryan Reynolds and sort of all that kind of stuff.
That was intentional but not necessarily because we had plans in mind, just because it would be fun to have different players for them to play with if anybody or we wanted to go for it in a different way.
So, you know, I don’t know, I mean Dwayne’s a really busy guy, and you know, he would be the one to motivate all of that. So, you know, we’re ready if he wants to, and until then, he’s just dominating, so all power to him.”

MARVEL STUDIOS---Olivia Colman said she wants to star in a Marvel movie, “I feel slightly unfaithful to the smaller films, but I am a Marvel fan. After every Marvel film (was released), I’d go to my agent, like, ‘Can I be a superhero?’ So eventually, I got to do a tiny bit in a Marvel (show) and I was thrilled. I got to meet Samuel L. Jackson – the other Sam that I love – and Don Cheadle.”

THE PRINCESS DIARIES---Julie Andrews commented on returning for the second sequel which is being written, “I think we know that it’s probably not going to be possible. It was talked about very shortly after two [THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2: ROYAL ENGAGEMENT] came out, but it’s now how many years since then? And I am that much older, and Annie the princess, or queen, is so much older. And I am not sure where it would float or run. In terms of us doing it, I doubt that now.”

CITY OF GOD---Fernando Meirelles is developing an HBO Max sequel to his 2002 movie.

THE BASTARD SON AND THE DEVIL HIMSELF---Netflix cancelled the series.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
In the original CASINO ROYALE, Barbara Bouchet, who played Miss Moneypenny, was arrested for being scantily dressed in London's Hyde Park, “And being in England, I was missing the sun. WONDER WOMAN 3---Patty Jenkins denied reports that she walked away from the sequel, "When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that ideas me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now."
She also updated the status of the STAR WARS spinoff movie ROGUE SQUADRON, "I originally left Rogue Squadron after a long and productive development process when it became clear it couldn’t happen soon enough and I did not want to delay WW3 any further. When I did, Lucasfilm asked me to consider coming back to RS after WW3, which I was honored to do, so I agreed. They made a new deal with me. In fact, I am still on it and that project has been in active development ever since. I don’t know if it will happen or not. We never do until the development process is complete, but I look forward to its potential ahead."

WONDER-WOMAN-FOTOR.jpg

FANTASTIC FOUR---John Krasinski commented about returning as Mr. Fantastic in the reboot movie after appearing in DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, “There aren’t any discussions at all, the only discussion I had was actually in the second-to-last week of JACK RYAN. Kevin Feige called and said would you ever fly to L.A. and play in our sandbox for a day? I was honored to do it. I flew right from Budapest when we wrapped and went right to the DOCTOR STRANGE set. I’m a big fan of all those characters and that world, so to get to play in that sandbox for one day was a real thrill.”

WEDNESDAY---the Addams Family series became Netflix's #2 English language series behind STRANGER THINGS with 1.02 billion viewer hours in 19 days.

BALLERINA---Norman Reedus will co-star with Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves in the JOHN WICK spinoff movie.

DEADPOOL 3---director Shawn Levy said the sequel will deserve its R-rating, “We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping DEADPOOL every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul.
And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s very much a DEADPOOL movie. And it has Logan in it. And it has Wolverine in it. It’s too fun. I’m having so much fun, and I haven’t even hit the shooting floor yet."

WINNIE-THE-POOH---animated prequel movie and tv series underway about the early days of Winnie-the-Pooh.

SUPERMAN---DC Studios co-head James Gunn said the new Superman movie will not include Henry Cavill, "In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill. But we just had a great meeting with Henry, and we’re big fans, and we talked about a number of exciting possibilities to work together in the future.”
Cavill replied, “I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. THE KEEP---F. Paul Wilson announced a remake movie based on his World War II horror novel will be directed by Greg Nicotero (THE WALKING DEAD), “Two days ago, after a year and a half of lawyering between the ‘purchaser’ and my side at ICM, I signed an option/purchase agreement with Greg Nicotero for the remake of The Keep. Greg is a longtime fan of the book, and he’s got the chops to do a worthy adaptation.” The 1983 Michael Mann movie starred Scott Glenn, Gabriel Byrne and Jurgen Prochnow.

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK---co-director Tyler Gillett commented on the movie, "Not a remake. That’s one of those properties that you can’t [remake], it’s sort of untouchable to us, and lives in its own stratosphere in terms of how important it is to us, and how much we love it. So it’ll be not unlike SCREAM. I think; a nod to, and a continuation of, what we love about those characters and that world.”
Co-director Chad Villella added, “We’re developing our take, and hopefully, it will be going to script sometime in the New Year, and just really starting to lay the groundwork for that. But very early stages.”

STINGER---untitled James Wan/Peacock miniseries underway based on the sci fi novel STINGER in which an alien spaceship crashes near a remote, dying town in Texas. Ian McCulloch (YELLOWSTONE) is the writer.

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE---James Cameron commented on the disappointing sequel directed by Tim Miller, “I think the problem, and I’m going to wear this one, is that I refused to do it without Arnold. Tim didn’t want Arnold, but I said, ‘Look, I don’t want that. Arnold and I have been friends for 40 years, and I could hear it, and it would go like this: ‘Jim, I can’t believe you’re making a TERMINATOR movie without me.”
It just didn’t mean that much to me to do it, but I said, ‘If you guys could see your way clear to bringing Arnold back and then, you know, I’d be happy to be involved.’
Then Tim wanted Linda. I think what happened is I think the movie could have survived having Linda in it, I think it could have survived having Arnold in it, but when you put Linda and Arnold in it and then, you know, she’s 60-something, he’s 70-something, all of a sudden it wasn’t your TERMINATOR movie, it wasn’t even your dad’s TERMINATOR movie, it was your granddad’s TERMINATOR movie. And we didn’t see that.
We loved it, we thought it was cool, you know, that we were making this sort of direct sequel to a movie that came out in 1991. And young movie-going audiences weren’t born. They wouldn’t even have been born for another 10 years.”

MR. NATURAL---Robert De Niro will star in this crime tv series about Louis "Mr. Natural" Baron, who is released after being in prison for 30 years, and heads to Palm Springs to reunite with his family and cash in on the billions of dollars of lithium in the Salton Sea.

While filming ENTRAPMENT, Catherine Zeta-Jones said Sean Connery suggested she could the new 007, "I would have loved to have played Bond. I had such a wonderful relationship with Sean Connery - we did a movie called ENTRAPMENT years ago - and he was like my elder brother, my dad, my support."
She added, "I really loved him. I am a Bond fanatic and he said to me once, 'You would have made a great Bond, girl'. I asked, 'A Bond girl or Bond?' He went, 'Bond - girl.' I said, 'Oh my gosh, I would have loved to have played Bond!' But I think that time has passed."

After we finished releasing episodes, we saw a new surge of people come to the service to start the show. We’ve already released the fact that we’re over 100 million, and the number has gone up since then, it’s millions and millions beyond that.
We are really proud that the show drove renewed interest in the books, we saw spikes in book sales. It’s just been a company-wide success and as significant as our investment has been, it has more than paid off for us.”
He added about a possible Season 3, "We are absolutely committed. We have every reason to be excited. They’ve done a tremendous job. It’s a great question about Season 3, we’re probably two to three months in on Season 3, but I think there could be news certainly in the new year.
There’s so much planning and prep that’s necessary for us to get this mounted that the only reason we probably haven’t gotten there quite yet is we’ve just been so heads down in Season 2, but I would expect there to be news in the new year.”

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY---director James Mangold said DIAL OF DESTINY fans will "find out what happened" to Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf).
Mangold also replied again to rumors of reshoots and multiple endings, “So I took a b-day break from trolls, but it seems I gotta once again say… We’re not shooting & never shot any new scenes or ‘alt endings.’ Our film is 99% finished, getting rated by MPAA & VFX being completed. Happy Holidays!” When one fan claimed all Disney movies had reshoots, Mangold posted, “I made ‘Logan’ and ‘Ford v Ferrari’ and ‘Indiana Jones 5’ and it didn’t happen on any of them. I can only speak to my experiences. Be well.”
Mangold said the Disney+ tv series will not include Indiana Jones and Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge).

THE MARVELS---Marvel Studios released a new synopsis for the sequel, “Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”

DC STUDIOS---DC Studios co-head James Gunn commented on fan criticism and harassment over the direction he and co-head Peter Safran are taking DCU, “One of the things Peter & I were aware of when we took the job as heads of DC Studios was a certain minority of people online that could be, well, uproarious & unkind, to say the least.
Our choices for the DCU are based upon what we believe is best for the story & best for the DC characters who have been around for nearly 85 years. Perhaps these choices are great, perhaps not, but they are made with sincere hearts & integrity & always with the story in mind.
No one loves to be harassed or called names – but, to be frank, we’ve been through significantly worse. Disrespectful outcry will never, ever affect our actions.
We were aware there would be a period of turbulence when we took this gig, & we knew we would sometimes have to make difficult & not-so-obvious choices, especially in the wake of the fractious nature of what came before us.
But this means little to us in comparison to our jobs as artists & custodians in helping to create a wide & wonderful future for DC.”

WONDER WOMAN---after WONDER WOMAN 3 was shelved, a fan posted that Gal Gadot had been "booted" from the DCU, and James Gunn replied, “I’m not sure where you’re getting that we ‘booted’ Gal."

TRIVIA---director/writer Bob Clark's most famous movies are A CHRISTMAS STORY and PORKY'S. But Clark's first movie was the 1967 black and white SHE-MAN: A STORY OF FIXATION whose plot is, "A soldier is forced to take estrogen and wear lingerie when he's blackmailed by a violent transvestite."

1923---Taylor Sheridan said each episode cost about $30 million-$35 million, “I would argue that ‘1883’ was the most expensive first season of a TV show ever made. [1923] was much more expensive. Much more expensive. I don’t know what the ‘Game of Thrones’ budgets were, but I don’t know how they could have been more than this.
You saw six thousand sheep, three thousand cattle, and as this show keeps going, you’re in Africa. All real. You know how hard it is to move a crew around in Africa in 2022 with COVID, and all the rules and all the politics?"

TOP GUN 3---producer Jerry Bruckheimer commented on if Tom Cruise might return for a second sequel, "He’s in the middle of shooting MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 8, and that’s his focus. Once he finishes, we can have a conversation. But then he goes up in space [for an untitled Universal movie] and something else. So I have no idea."
Bruckheimer also said the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN spinoff starring Margot Robbie is still underway and a second movie with a younger cat is also planned, “I think we’re getting very close on that one, too. We have a very good script. We developed two of them – the one with Margot Robbie and one with a younger cast. The Margot Robbie one needs a little more work. The younger cast one is close. Hopefully, we’ll get both of them.
[The Robbie one] is alive for me. It’s alive for Disney. I’m sure she was disappointed it didn’t go first – or maybe not because she’s very busy, so it might be a blessing to push this a bit. We believe we’ll get it made. It’s a very strong story.”

THE TERMINATOR---James Cameron hinted the franchise might be rebooted, "If I were to do another TERMINATOR film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy."

THE DEEP---Amazon Prime miniseries underway based on the sci fi novel about an undersea lab in the Pacific Ocean that makes a startling discover that could help or doom mankind. C. Henry Chaisson (ANTLERS) is the writer. The miniseries is not related to the Peter Benchley novel and movie.

SHAZAM---Zachary Levy commented on rumors that DC Studios will replace him with another actor, "Oooh, I really wouldn’t go believing everything you see on the internet."

SUBSERVIENCE---Megan Fox and Michele Morron star in this sci fi movie about a father who hires a domestic SIM to help him around the house until the SIM goes on a rampage.

TRIVIA---British actress Dana Wynter, best known for co-starring in the original INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, pronounced her first name "Donna".

RENFIELD---the Dracula movie starring Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult has received an R-rating.

BLACK ADAM---the Dwayne Johnson movie earned $391 million, but due to a rumored $70 million reshoots, the movie will lose money and sequel plans have been cancelled.

TRIVIA---in THE COWBOYS, John Wayne was shot by Bruce Dern's character. Before the scene was filmed, Wayne told Dern, “Oh, I want to remind you of one thing. When this picture comes out, and audiences see you kill me — they’re gonna hate you for this.” Dern replied, “Maybe. But at Berkeley, I’ll be a f*cking hero!”

STAR WARS: AHSOKA---Ivanna Sakhno (PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING) will reportedly play Shin, a villain connected to the Nightsisters and a disciple of ex-Jedi Baylon.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER---James Cameron said he deleted about 10 minutes of gun violence from the sequel, "I look back on some films that I’ve made, and I don’t know if I would want to make that film now. I don’t know if I would want to fetishize the gun, like I did on a couple of TERMINATOR movies 30-plus years ago, in our current world. What’s happening with guns in our society turns my stomach.
I actually cut about 10 minutes of the movie [AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER] targeting gunplay action. I wanted to get rid of some of the ugliness, to find a balance between light and dark. You have to have conflict, of course. Violence and action are the same thing, depending on how you look at it. This is the dilemma of every action filmmaker, and I’m known as an action filmmaker.”

BABYLON---the movie starring Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie bombed by earning a dismal $3.5 million during its three-day premiere compared to its $80 million budget.

REBEL MOON---a photo was released from the Zack Snyder sci fi movie.

REBEL-MOON-FOTOR.png

GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY---the sequel had 82.1 million viewing hours in its first three days which makes it Netflix's sixth-best premiere.

THE IRRATIONAL---Jesse L. Martin stars in this NBC series about Professor Alec Baker, who solves high-stakes cases.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
In THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, assassin Francisco Scarmanga escapes James Bond in his flying AMC Matador. In reality, the flying Matador was based on the AVE Mizar, a Ford Pinto mated to the rear section of a Cessna Skymaster. During a test flight, the Mizar crashed, killing its two designers, aeronautical engineers Henry Smolinski and Harold Blake. After the fatal flight, plans to use the Mizar in the movie were cancelled and replaced with the flying Matador.
The flying Matador seen flying in the movie was really a 39" remote control model.

YELLOWJACKETS---Season 2 photo shows Lauren Ambrose playing the adult version of Van Palmer.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK---the sequel is the biggest hit in Paramount Pictures history, and is now Paramount+'s most-watched movie globally, beating previous-champ SONIC THE HEDGEHOG by 60%. MAVERICK's streaming success led to a 400% viewing increase in the original TOP GUN and a 140% increase in Cruise's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movies.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER---the sequel brought in $1 billion in 14 days. By comparison, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME took 12 days to reach $1 billion and TOP GUN: MAVERICK took 31 days.

NATIONAL TREASURE 3---Justin Bartha commented on the sequel script, “There is a script. That’s all I’ll say. There have been a few different scripts, actually, but the one thing that has to happen is for all the stars to align. I had seen something a while ago, and it was solid, but the unsung hero of these movies that does not get mentioned as much is Jon Turtletaub. Those movies really are an extension of his being. He is very smart and funny and has a buoyancy to him that mirrors the tone of the movies. I think he has to feel really comfortable and feel like he can see the movie before it happens — and it is getting closer to that.”

TRIVIA---Yul Bryner's character was set on fire in two 1970s movies. In FUZZ (Burt Reynolds, Raquel Welch), Bryner's villain, The Deaf Man, is set on fire by two punk kids. In Michael Crichton's WESTWORLD (Richard Benjamin, James Brolin), Bryner's android, The Gunslinger, is set on fire by Westworld guest Peter Martin (Richard Benjamin).

GAME OF THRONES---George RR Martin posted that cost-cutting measures at Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO Max may affect the proposed spinoff series, “Some of those [spinoffs] are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development. None have been greenlit yet, though we are hoping… maybe soon. A couple have been shelved, but I would not agree that they are dead. You can take something off the shelf as easily as you can put it on the shelf. All the changes at HBO Max have impacted us, certainly.”
Martin said he is still working on Season 2 of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, THE WINDS OF WINTER and the WILD CARDS tv series based on FORT FREAK.

THE FLASH---photo of a model for Batman's (Michael Keaton) new "Ultimate Batwing" was posted.

FLASH-BATWING.jpg

GHOSTBUSTERS---co-director Jennifer Kluska commented on the untitled Sony Pictures Animation movie, “By design this is going to be different. I think all of the films that Sony does are very consciously stylistically and tonally different and more and more also visually. The technology and the artistry pushes the medium and we are going to be looking for our own approach that’s going to be a very specific link to the Ghostbusters franchise, to the world of supernatural and to the telling of ghost stories.”

THE WITCHER---showrunner Lauren Hissrich commented on the Wild Hunt in Season 3, "We set up the Wild Hunt for Ciri in the middle of Season 2 as her thinking, ‘I don’t quite understand what this is. I don’t understand why they’re in this dreamscape that I’m having.’ And then, obviously, at the very end, she visits the dark elves’ sphere and she realizes ‘these people are after me.'”
She added, “When we were talking about the pressure on Ciri and what she is experiencing from all of these people that seem to want her, what’s great is she has a run-in with the Wild Hunt so it becomes much more palpable to her and much scarier. One of the things that I love in the books that [author Andrzej] Sapkowski did beautifully is he teases the Wild Hunt for so long. They pop up, then they go away for a while. So we are definitely sticking to that school.”

THE INVISIBLE MAN---producer Jason Blum and director James Wan commented on why a sequel is not underway. Blum said, "Well, it’s a great question. (Laughs.) I think we mostly hold me accountable, but hopefully, should our dreams come true and our two companies get to work together, maybe James will help me solve that problem."
Wan replied, "I’d be more than happy to."

TERRIFIER 3---writer/director Demian Leone commented on the new sequel, “One of my main goals for TERRIFIER 3 is to recapture the creep factor present in the original TERRIFIER short film. That had a genuinely spooky atmosphere that I’m still proud of. If all goes as planned, part 3 will be the scariest TERRIFIER thus far #terrifier3 #creepy”.

TRIVIA---in JURASSIC PARK when a Raptor enters the kitchen, a crew operator's hand can be seen grabbing the Raptor's tail.
