F1: THE MOVIE---F1 head Stefano Domenicali commented on a sequel to the Brad Pitt racing movie, “We’re going to tell you something more in the future. Never say never. But we need to digest more the success of this movie because it was something unique. And if you want to think of a new one, it has to be really, very, very good. Therefore, if this will happen, it will not be for next year. But maybe next year we’re going to be here [at the press day], and hopefully we have something more to announce [then]."

SHE-HULK---Tatiana Maslany commented on rumors that she turned an offer to return as She-Hulk to the MCU, “You’ll never know. I don’t know. Do you know?”

TRIVIA---STAR TREK stars William Shatner and Walter Koenig reunited in the COLUMBO episode "Fade in to Murder" where Shatner played Ward Fowler, star of the hit tv series DETECTIVE LUCERNE, who murders a studio executive who was blackmailing him because he was a Korean War deserter. Koenig played LAPD Sgt. Johnson, who briefs Columbo on the murder.
Koenig commented on reuniting with Shatner on COLUMBO, "I didn't work with Bill. Bill was in other scenes. I remember we took a trolley, a little go-cart, together to go to lunch...and he didn't talk to me...because that was the time between the series and the movies, and I don't think he remembered my name."

I don’t currently know what Lucasfilm wants to do with it. They’re in a pretty big state of flux at the moment, after Kathleen [Kennedy] leaving, and who knows what the future holds for them theatrically.
It was a great thrill to write that, and especially to work with Patty, who made it a very personal story. It was very much a movie about fighter pilots. Her father was a fighter pilot.
It was very personal to her, and we were trying to tell a really great personal story about fighter pilots and Rogue Squadron pilots in the Star Wars universe. I think we did a great job with it, and I really hope one day we get to see a version of that.”

His high chair was next to Fincher’s, which makes the 10 movie rule feel a bit more silly.”

CRAWL 2---Sam Raimi commented on the sequel to the 2019 killer alligator movie that starred Kaya Scodelario, “We’ve been trying to get a go from the studio, and they changed hands, Paramount Pictures did, and now the new group that’s come in I’ve worked with before, the ladies and gentlemen that are great at development, and they’re interested in CRAWL 2. That’s all I could really say right now, is now I’ve got a new hope to make it. … It’s a little bit, I think, embarrassing to make an alligator in the basement picture. I don’t know if that’s what their lofty ambitions were but I think there’s a crowd that loves those kinds of films, if they’re well-made and honestly trying to make this suspenseful and scary and get to know the characters, if they’re really trying to do that, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Yes, it’s a B movie but it’s a blast. I really like that kind of picture.“

THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU---Lucasfilm Head of Marketing Ryan Stankevich commented on fan criticism of the movie's Super Bowl commercial which appeared to parody an earlier Budweiser Super Bowl commercials, "Our creative and marketing team landed on a unique concept that gave a nod to classic Big Game spots of years past. It captured the warmth, humor, and emotional connection between these two beloved characters and was the perfect next step for our campaign as we lead up to their big screen debut this summer."

BULLITT---World of Reel said the Steven Spielberg movie starring Bradley Cooper and based on the 1968 cop movie that starred Steve McQueen “can now say with confidence that the project is firmly on the back burner”.

TRIVIA---Dale Dye is best known for being the military advisor on SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, BAND OF BROTHERS, PLATOON and many others. Dye's first job as a military advisor was on Tobe Hooper's remake of INVADERS FROM MARS where he also played a Marine firing a guided missile at the Martians. Hooper said, "I heard this man, Capt. Dale Dye, who later became Oliver Stone's technical advisor, if you need to know something about the war, you'd use Dale. He was able to get all the Marines' support...In the movie when you see about a thousand Marines marching, they were really Marines...they loaned us rocket launchers, big, big-time rockets...and these giant lights that unfold over the sand pit, and they were extras, too, and they bought their own equipment...And so... got very lucky with that."

THE MIST---Mike Flanagan is the writer/director of the Warner Bros. movie based on the Stephen King novella. The original 2007 movie starred Thomas Jane, Laurie Holden and Marcia *** Harden. The original movie's synopsis said, "After a powerful storm damages their Maine home, David Drayton and his young son head into town to gather food and supplies. Soon afterward, a thick fog rolls in and engulfs the town, trapping the Draytons and others in the grocery store. Terror mounts as deadly creatures reveal themselves outside, but that may be nothing compared to the threat within, where a zealot calls for a sacrifice."

Co-showrunner Oren Uziel commented on Cage playing Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker, “Peter Parker feels very synonymous with a high school kid. Boyish. On his way up. [Ben] could be more easily adjusted to fit a pessimistic misanthrope… The reason he’s named Ben Reilley is explained. We’ll leave it at that.”

F1: THE MOVIE---producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed the sequel to the Brad Pitt racing movie is underway, “We’re working on a sequel."

GREYHOUND 2---Stephen Graham and Elisabeth Shue are returning with Tom Hanks for the Apple TV World War II movie sequel set in the Pacific Theater and is expected to premiere in 2027.

SAFE HOUSES---Ana de Armas and Jennifer Connelly are in negotiations to star in the Apple TV eight-part miniseries based on the CIA thriller novel. De Armas would play CIA agent Sofia Jimenez, who is accused of murdering the husband of Ambassador Elizabeth Winthrop (Jennifer Connelly).

TIME OUT---Adam Sandler and Dustin Hoffman will star in the Netflix remake of the French movie. The synopsis says the reamke, “revolves around a man laid off from his job who pretends to go to work every day to avoid telling his family. As time goes he falls deeper into a web of lies and scams to maintain his comfortable life.”

TRIVIA---Steven Spielberg, winner of three Academy Awards, and directed movie classics including JAWS, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, JURASSIC PARK, SCHINDLER'S LIST, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL and others, is considered one of Hollywood's greatest directors. His movies have earned over $10.7 billion. Ironically, Spielberg applied for admissions to the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts and was turned down because he had a C-grade point average and was "untalented". Spielberg applied a second time and was rejected. Spielberg then applied for a third time and was rejected a third time----Strike Three. Spielberg then applied to California State University, Long Beach and was accepted.
Spielberg did not hold a grudge against USC for rejecting him. Spielberg has donated many millions of dollars to USC and established the Shoah Foundation in honor of Holocaust survivors. USC gave Spielberg an honorary degree in 1994 (one story, of dubious origin, claims Spielberg would accept the degree, but only if the admissions official who turned him down would sign the degree), made him a university trustee in 1996 and its Steven Spielberg Building is next to the George Lucas Building---Lucas was accepted by USC when he applied.

BAD MAJOR---Jason Isaacs will star in the World War II comedy movie whose plot is described as, "...it centers on the concerned family of a boy sent to the battlefield. He asserts his authority over them, imposing ridiculous and obsessive rules that push them all to their breaking point. TRIVIA---in the 1952 noir thriller WITHOUT WARNING, Adam Williams played serial killer Carl Martin, who stabbed beautiful women to death, and Ed Binns played LAPD homicide detective Lt. Pete Hamilton, who investigated the murders. In 1959, Williams and Binns reunited in Alfred Hitchcock's NORTH BY NORTHWEST, where Williams played foreign spy henchman Valerian, who kidnapped ad executive Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant), and then framed Thornhill for the knife murder of a UN delegate. SINATRA---Leonardo DiCaprio commented on the status of Martin Scorsese's long-gestating Frank Sinatra biomovie, "Still in the works, still in the works.“

CRAVE---Nell Verlaque and Jason Isaacs will star in the vampire movie whose synopsis says, “When a grief-stricken young woman visits a mysterious, traveling carnival in her small town, she becomes seduced into a dangerous world of pleasure and deception.”

CONVICTION---Elisabeth Moss will star in the Hulu legal series created by David Shore (HOUSE) and based on the book. The synopsis says, "CONVICTION centers on criminal Defense Attorney Neve Harper (Moss), a confident lawyer who finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal — or else risk her dark secrets being exposed."

DANCING WITH THE STARS: THE NEXT PRO---ABC spinoff underway featuring professional dancers and hosted by Season 34 winner Robert Irwin. The spinoff will be available to ABC viewers with Hulu subscriptions.

TRIVIA---FRIDAY THE 13TH movie trivia.
Before Kim Jong-il became the Communist dictator of North Korea, he worked in the national propaganda department as head of the Motion Picture and Arts Division. Kim wanted a film industry for his own country to rival South Korea's blossoming movie industry. In 1978, Kim set up a phony movie scam by inviting South Korean actress Choi Eun-hee to Hong Kong for a movie project. When she was walking on the beach, North Korean agents in speedboats kidnapped her. Months later her husband, director Shin Sang-ok, arrived in Hong Kong to search for his missing wife, and he was also kidnapped by Kim's agents. Kim now had his movie team, which he ordered to produce 17 North Korean movies in only two years. The last movie was PULGASARI, which was meant to be an anti-war, anti-authoritarian monster movie that would rival Japan's successful GODZILLA.
In 1986, the couple was in Austria on a movie-making project and then sought political asylum in the United States Embassy in Vienna. After returning to freedom, Shin said Kim was a big movie fan with a collection of over 20,000 movies on dvd and videocassette. His favorite movies were FRIDAY THE 13TH and RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD along with James Bond and Hong Kong action movies.

GAMBINO---the FACE/OFF team of Nicolas Cage and director John Woo will reunite for the biomovie about New York mobster Carlo Gambino. WILD HORSE NINE---John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell and Steve Buscemi star in the movie about CIA agents who travel to Easter Island after its 1973 attempt to overthrown the Chilean government.

CHARLIE'S ANGELS---Sony Pictures is developing a new reboot movie based on the female private investigator tv series that starred Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jacklyn Smith. Drew Barrymore, who starred in the original 2000 reboot movie, is reportedly the producer. Pete Chiarelli (CRAZY RICH ASIANS) is the writer.

BAYWATCH---Stephen Armell (ARROW) will star in the Fox reboot series as Hobie Buchannon, the adult son of Mitch Buchannon in the original series. Hobie teams up with the daughter he never knew to continue the family's lifeguard legacy.

HUNGRY---photo released from the movie about friends on a holiday who are attacked by a killer hippopotamus in the Louisiana swamp.

TOP GUN---producer Jerry Bruckheimer commented on the status of the new sequels for TOP GUN and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, “I think it’s a horse race between the two of them, so we’ll see. Right now, TOP GUN is a hair ahead, but that’s it. We’re expecting a script shortly [for TOP GUN 3].”

DOCTOR WHO---BBC production head Zai Bennett commented on the future of DOCTOR WHO and replied that he "won't speak for the BBC", and added, “We’re a big, important part of DOCTOR WHO and are all motivated to make sure Doctor Who has a long and flourishing life. TRIVIA---Frank Pierson wrote the screenplays for three movies involving a heist. GODZILLA MINUS ZERO----an unconfirmed synopsis for the sequel says, "Following the devastation of Godzilla’s first rampage in GODZILLA MINUS ONE, Kōichi Shikishima is determined to lead a quiet life, rebuilding his family with Noriko (Minami Hamabe) and young Akiko (Sae Nagatani) while stepping away from the nightmares of war and monsters. However, peace is short-lived when Godzilla returns, fully regenerated, larger and more ferocious, while something ancient begins to stir beneath Aokigahara near Mount Fuji, endangering the fragile nation and forcing Kōichi to reconsider his promise.

MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS---VFX supervisor Sean Konrad commented on Season 2's new smaller monsters, the scarabs, “We are often looking for ways to put our actors into spaces with creatures and have them on more direct eye level, in part because there’s a limit to what our actors can do about a 300 foot monster except for run and hide or be astonished (although there’s one sequence where I think we do something pretty crazy and unique). The scarabs are a good example of something that fits in human-sized space — having a creature running loose on the interior of a ship or in the Axis Mundi pod puts our characters on a more even playing field with them."

SPIDER-MAN---a rumor claims a new movie will have Tobey Maguire returning as Spider-Man to face Deadpool and Wolverine.

PLAYER PIANO---Reed Morano will direct the movie based on Kurt Vonnegut's first novel.

STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY---a fan critcized Holly Hunter as Capt. Nahla Ake and posted that Capt. Janeway should travel back in time, so she can bi*chslap Captain Mumbles when she spots her lounging in the captain’s chair like she’s getting ready to watch the hallmark channel instead of commanding a starship!"

Their arrival draws the attention of an ancient predator, the 'Boiúna'. This ancient killer, dominant on land and water, clashes to reclaim the jungle. In the THE OUTER LIMITS episode "The Chameleon", a flying saucer crashed in the United States, and the aliens killed the military patrol sent to investigate the crash. The CIA genetically transformed a disillusioned agent (Robert Duvall) to infiltrate the aliens. The episode was written by Robert Towne and character actor Roy Jenson played the CIA gunman.
Towne and Jenson reunited for the classic movie CHINATOWN in which private investigator Jake Gittes investigated the murder of the chief engineer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Towne received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and Jenson played Department of Water and Power Security Chief Claude Mulvihill, whose henchman (Roman Polanski) cut off the tip of Gittes' nose.

STAR WARS: THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO---director Steven Soderbergh commented on his spinoff movie that he co-wrote with Adam Driver that was rejected by Disney, “It was no surprise that she [Kathleen Kennedy] was frustrated. We were all frustrated. You know, that was two and a half years of free work for me and Adam and Rebecca Blunt. When Adam and I discussed him talking about it publicly, I said, ‘Look, do not editorialize or speculate about the why. Just say what happened, because all we know is what happened.’ The stated reason was ‘We don’t think Ben Solo could be alive.’ And that was all we were told. And so there’s nothing to do about it, you know, except move on.”

SKELETONS---Brie Larson will star in the horror movie whose plot is described as, “a modern take on the creature horror film told from the perspective of a young boy who slowly begins to discover that his beloved parents are hiding a disturbing secret about his mother’s true nature.”

28 YEARS LATER 3---a rumor claims Sony Pictures is not pushing the sequel because of its disappointing earnings and that Netflix expressed an interest in it, but Danny Boyle rejected Netflix's offer because he wants a theatrical release.

MISTER---Walton Goggins and Chloe Grace Moretz will star in the comedy action movie whose plot is described as, “[MISTER] follows a man (Goggins) who wakes up in a strange house covered in blood and comes to realize his true identity while fighting off contract killers from his past — including everyone from his exes to his best friend. To get out, he teams up with his estranged daughter (Moretz) who also has ended up in the family business, but they will need to repair their relationship in order to survive.”

THE BOYS---Karl Urban commented on Season 5, the last season, "nobody is safe".

PORTO RICO---Javier Bardem, Viggo Mortensen, Edward Norton and Bad Buny will star in the movie about Puerto Rican revolutionary Jose Maldonado Roman.

CHUCKY---Jennifer Tilley said more CHUCKY is in the future, “The television series just ended, but I know for a fact there is more Chucky and Tiffany in the works.“
