Some nights I'll go to the premium movie channels and just start flipping thru them. This past week I clicked on two that I have seen so many times I could't count. Full Metal Jacket & My Cousin Vinny. Both time I found them I continued watching. Like with Full Metal Jacket I can receit the lines along with the actors but I still cannot turn the movie off. Oh and I have both on DVD too!
Gary

Full Metal Jacket would be on my list.

The Departed
Saving Private Ryan
Goodfellas
Platoon
Dawn of the Dead
The Horse Soldiers

SPR, Platoon & Goodfellows would also be on my list. Another one, tho it may be harder to find is Paths of Glory. A 1957 WW1 film starring Kirk Douglas about the French Army in WW1. One more just came to mind Slapshot, a true cult classic.

Most definitely The Departed and Goodfellas, and The Horse Soldiers, 3 classics! A few more that I have watched over and over:

1. Kellys Heroes (big surprise!)
2. Dirty Dozen
3. Battle of the Bulge (may not be accurate, but will watch every time)
4. A Bridge Too Far
5. The Train Robbers (John Wayne)
6. Rooster Cogburn
7. Casablanca
8. Any Charlie Chan/Mr. Moto or Sherlock Holmes - basically any B Mystery from the 30s, 40s 50s including all the series detectives (Falcon, Saint, etc)

Actually, have to stop there, Hollywood is my second hobby after Toy Soldiers. Huge movie buff including memorabilia, autographed items, posters, etc.

Forgot, did I say I collect Trains, War History, Doulton, Stamps, Coins too..............................

The funny part is, I might have a favorite particular DVD movie and never watch it, but the minute its on TV, I watch it, commercials and all. For some reason I watch, Me & Dupree, all the time.

Same here Gary. John Wayne or Clint Eastwood marathon and I'm watching the movies once again. They just had a weekend of the Dirty Harry series...needless to say "I felt lucky, punk!"

There aren't that many movies I will watch over and over. Top of the list is Lawrence of Arabia.

Paths of Glory, Casablanca, Maltese Falcon, the Good, Bad and the Ugly, and Dr. Strangelove round out the list.

There are a lot of movies I stop and watch when I'm flipping through the channels but my all time flip, stop and watch is Rio Bravo with John Wayne,Dean Martin,Walter Brennen and Ricky Nelson. They just seemed great as a team.

I'm a big movie addict. Have many films I will sit through over and over. Any Ford/Wayne collaboration ( in fact, any Wayne western from Stagecoach on), films by David Lean, Sam Peckinpah, Stanley Kubrick, John Frankenheimer, and Lewis Milestone. Haven't seen all the work by these men, but what I have seen gets rewatched whenever I run across them. -- Al

Brad,
2 I forgot:

Maltese Falcon - Sydney Greenstreet steals the show!
Good, The Bad and The Ugly - epitome of spaghetti!

Good list!

One of my all time favourites

The Getaway with Steve McQueen

"Doc moves to the counter at the rear of the store. An
ATTENDANT moves up to help Doc.

SALESMAN
(with a smile)
Can I help you?

DOC
Sure can. I'd like an Invicta 12-gauge
pump with the twenty-inch barrel.

SALESMAN
All right. Shells?

DOC
Two boxes of double-ought buck.

SALESMAN
Gonna knock down a wall?

DOC
(big smile)
Might try that."

Cheers

Martyn:)

Good one Martyn, Al Lettieri ..... the ultimate "bad guy". Also can't resist watching Bullitt, plus The Searchers, The Longest Day, The Outlaw Josey Wales and of course Blazing Saddles. :wink2::smile2:

Chris, glad to see that you are a Frankenheimer fan. He and Lancaster made some classics. Frankenheimer was also responsible for Ronin and Black Sunday (a forgotten gem, starring Robert Shaw and Bruce Dern). -- Al

Al, I remember the movie Black Sunday and read the book. Don't think I have seen Ronin, but may have to watch that one. Chris

Thanks Michael, have to agree Paris Burning should be on the list, and I read that book as well. Chris

Back in the day when I had good eyesight, I read near every war book I could. That was one of them. Michael

Should add Cool Hand Luke, Paul Newman at his best. Just about every member of the chain gang went on to careers in their own tv series and multiple movies. Also, can't forget Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Would add Lincoln, but it's not on tv much. Chris
