There is someone on Eurosport (a British journalist mind you) making the case for unified British teams for all sports, including soccer, just like at the Olympics. This journalist writes that according to a recent poll even in Scotland about 69% of the people would agree to this. Food for thought...:wink2:.

Wow, 69% Paulo, now I would not have thought that. I didn't think there was much desire for a unified Brit football team in England.Scotland or Wales....shows you what I know!^&grin:wink2:

Some years ago the English cricket coach asked his players what it meant to them to be English. Robert Croft - from memory - excused himself on the grounds that as a Welshman he had absolutely no idea!

At the risk of a diversion from Andy's historic win - I would like to add - that Tony Lewis was Captain of the England Cricket Team in 1972/3. (He was born in Swansea - and was also Welsh). I should add that the side is now properly titled England and Wales Cricket - as Scotland withdrew from the side in 1992, when the current ECB board took over from the MCC.

The things you learn in a Pub Quiz! jb;)
