I just thought I would post that my father just had a stroke and is currently in a comma. I’m 22 and he is 66, so this has been really unexpected. On top of that, I am currently doing Army training in Texas and far away from our home in MA.

My dad has collected model trains since he was young. His love of collecting and mode making is what got me into this hobby. Ever since I was little we would work on his layout together. Then he would help me with dioramas. Even through boarding school and college we have kept up work on our projects. Please have him in your thoughts and prayers. I’ll see if I can post pictures of his layout later.

Sandor, thoughts and prayers go out to your father and you and your family.

B.

He's still with us Sandor - so there is hope.

Keep positive and keep your chin up - and hope for the best.

I'm not a religious person - but I'll say a little prayer anyway - just in case. jb

Sorry to hear the bad news. My prayers also go to you and your family. Chris

Sandor,
Very sorry to hear of this, I met your Dad and he is a wonderful man, thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Stay strong for your Mom, she's also a wonderful person having met her several times.

You've got two terrific parents, I know they are proud of you and all that you've done in a short amount of time, you'll be in my thoughts today.

Thank you all.
George— your words mean a lot. I really do have two amazing parents.

I am very sorry to hear this. We can't control our bodies and we can't control the nature, all is changing every moment and we must be prepared for any change, also the ones that we don't want and we don't like. I hope your father will feel good soon again.

Thank you all.

You are blessed young man.

I had a nice chat with your Dad about trains as that was something my Dad was into as well.

Stay positive and stay strong; easy for me or anyone else to say it, but you can do it.

I know you can.

Sandor .. on this day when we give thanks for all our blessings .... the fact that you have such a wonderful relationship with your dad AND mom are top of the list.

Special thoughts go out to your family from mine ....

BEST
Larry

Hello Sandor,

Sorry to read of your father, keep the faith and hopefully better days ahead for him, thoughts and prayers.

I have some potentially good news. My dad is stable, and the doctors are managing the aftermath of the bleeding. He is still in a coma, but the doctors appear to have a lot more hope.

Sandor,

I am so sorry about your Dad! My thoughts and wishes go out to you and your family, I hope he pulls through and gets well soon.

Your friend,

Louis

Sandor, I wish all the best to you and your family and hope your father will recover.

Doctors say my father will not recover from the brain damage and will not wake up from the coma, so I am headed up to Hartford to see him.

As I said, my father and I share a love not only of collecting, but making models (and making things in general). There are two tributes to him I have been considering that will allow me to feel like he is with me while I work on projects. I need some leads on who to contact to make them happen, so please let me know if you have any ideas.

I would like to get some of his S-Gage rolling stock painted with important things from his/our life. I could then have a sort of memorial train to display. Does anyone know a good painter?

I would also like to commission a figure of him, so that he can always be with me when I make dioramas. Does any one know a good sculptor? I know this can be expensive, but I am happy to pay whatever it takes.

Hi
So sorry to hear about your dad.
As to sculpting, I know Alan ball will do single figure commissions. I don’t know about price though. I’ve had some stuff done by some Europeans but they are larger fantasy things. Not sure they do human likeness.
Brad, the baron, might know some people in the USA who could do it.
