My father (1 Viewer)

Greetings,

You may consider manipulating photographs of you and your father by digitizing into a computer program, print shop or such, for decal transfers to apply to your rolling stock as you see fit. This would be cheaper and more personal as you can add lettering and graphics as well as symbols that will sustain your memories, maybe design a circus train type motif with dates and key scriptures listed on the side as a promotional box car would be painted as.

As far as making a figure I would look into again importing a digital picture into a 3-D graphic program and then use a 3-D printer to produce the desired figure, you could also contract out for this service but check libraries and universities for having access to this equipment without the expense of initial start up purchases.

I know "easier said than done" however this itself could be the creative avenue to express your grief into the project that you desire.

Sandor:

I have been meaning to reach out to you since my return to San Antonio, unfortunately I have been tied up.

I just lost my father in September. He too passed away after going into a coma following a stroke which was preceded by a battle with cancer.

I have to return to Cali on Tuesday, however I will be home before Christmas. If you return to San Antonio to complete your training please let me know. It would be my absolute honor to take you to dinner.

With my heartfelt condolences,
Jason

So sorry to hear your father has gotten worse Sandor, not many words can be said to ease your pain at this time, but certainly both in thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear you are going through such a difficult time. Best wishes to you and your family in dealing with this.

Sandor, it’s said that we live on in our children. I know that your father must be extraordinarily proud of you, of your focus, maturity and fundamental decency. I’m unsure of what else to say, except that my own father’s final incapacitation was the greatest personal loss that I’ve ever suffered. My heart goes out to you.

Sorry to hear about your Father’s change of condition Sandor.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Sandor . . . . You and your family are in my thoughts during this very difficult time . . . .

Thank you all for your kind words. My father never came on here, but he fostered my love of collecting and model building. He went from an instructor to a helpful hand when it came to building dioramas and other models. I might put togather a retrospective of everything we worked on and then add some things that are still in progress. The main project we still have goin is the Nile gunboat. It’s basically just needs the detail work added and some weathering. I think I am going to go all-out with the crew and diorama. I will proabably use mostly Heritage crew and conission a water matt from JG. Then I will buy a nice glass display box and put it on the mantle of this huge Victorian credenza he has from his first house. That project was probably our most ambitious and most carefully executed.
