Had a sod of a time trying to upload and post these pic's!:(

Regardless, I had heaps of fun creating the wee Dio. Have added the rest of the pic's in my profile, under my Albums if anyone is interested?

As you can see its a novice attempt.....especially the photography!:p

I can really appreciate all the time and effort many of you must spend posting all your great dio's.:)

Feedback welcome....Cheers!:D

Looks good to me. Especially the placement of the foliage and the road looks like it really belongs there. It looks like the road is a bit higher than the bushes and slopes down into the foliage like there is a small ditch /drainage along side the road.

Looks good to me.Some nice figures in there too. That marching SS officer is one of my favourite.

Dear Desertkiwi:
Splendid good start! Smaller dioramas or vignettes can be very interesting just as well as larger dioramas or displays and take up less space and costs less. Now on to your next diorama!
Cheers! "Iron Brigade" 4/18/2010

Great first attempt! Figures and foliage are well placed. Your diorama sets up a good visual story without being too busy. Nice work!
Semper Fi!

I really like the way the road edges blend into the grass. A lot of people don't take the time to do that well, they make it to straight and uniform. You did a very good job looks very natural!

Cracking job mate.
Really like the terrain piece and surrounding foilage. Nice work.
Simon

Thanks heaps for all your kind words and encouragement guys, its much appreciated!::D:):)

To anwser a couple your questions; the road itself is elevated, with most of the foliage placed on a small slope running along the lenght of the road.

My original plan was to display figures, vehicles etc along the road and take pic's from the sloping side of the dio, through the foliage. However I got carried away with the trees and as they say "couldn't see the wood for the trees".;) So I ended up having to take pic's from each end of the road instead.

Not ideal, but hey I've learned alot and are planing my next Dio as we speak.

Once again many thanks to all of you, who have posted comments. Cheers!!:D

... couldnt see the woods ... absolutely hilarious.

Still .. it would have been some interesting shots through the trees. It would be representative of what some allied scouts' or resistance fighters' view of an enemy patrol. One tends to forget that the soldier on the ground .. hardly ever has a bird's eye picture of the "action" around him. Would be nice to see ...

Still a fantasic effort. Thank you for sharing.

Well done! I think this is a very good display. I really like the bottom image. The way the flash fades towards the back of the image creates a night time caught in the headlights effect.
