Thanks Mike . . . . I am enjoying my Rolls Royce Armoured Cars and Crews this morning while eagerly awaiting the release of the Aussie LCP Ford Model-T's that will soon be augmenting the WAD range. Always was fascinated with the dessert warfare of WWI and WWII . . . .

I don't want to sound like a cheerleader, but I really like the paint work on the armored cars. If you've never seen one "in the flesh," you might think that there are shadows being cast over the sides of the vehicle. However, that's not the case. Rather, what we're seeing is a very sophisticated application of paint that gradually lightens as it moves up the sides of the Rolls. I'm always amazed that Jenkins can produce such finely conceived and skillfully executed models at so reasonable a cost.

Thank you Mark . . . . I made the dio base a number of years ago and have gotten a lot of use out of it. The JJD vehicles and figures are just the latest that I have used with it. The colors of the vehicles along with the figures go perfectly with the ground work and back ground structures . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Very nice diorama. I especially like the background buildings.

Thank you TallyHo . . . . The background structures can still be found on line if you search on "Dept 56" for the Caravansary Gateway and Caravansary Walls . . . .

Cheer away, please do . . . . Well said Moe . . . . JJD does a marvelous job at weathering his vehicles . . . . a very fine air brushing technique and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a talented amount of "dry" brushing also. I expect the paint finish on the soon to be released LCP Model-T Fords will be just as spectacular if not more so . . . .

I have always been a big fan of 'Dept.56' products...especially their now-retired 'Little Town of Bethlehem' series which those backdrop walls come from...

When, many moons ago, K&C began our Eighth Army and Afrika Korps ranges we used a lot of their Desert Buildings as display accessories and they were an inspiration for our own 'Desert Village' series.

Best wishes and happy collecting...Andy.

An outstanding diorama Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dam, not this is the exact reason why I'm excited about the Jagdpanther, just look at the quality of the design and painting, weathering of the vehicles, just beautiful work all around, love your scenery, terrain along with the JJD product, thanks for posting.

Andy, it was your promotional photos of K&C's 8th Army and DAK ranges that drew my attention to the use of Dept 56 buildings and accessories . . . . like you said that was many moons ago. They are marvelously done and work very well with with 1/30 scale figures and vehicles. All the very best . . . .

Thank you Sammy . . . I am not a big WWII collector like you but I do have a few vehicles and figures from the new WB WWII range. However, I am planning on collecting the JJD Jagdpanther because I know its going to be a beauty and I think I will regret it if I don't collect one . . . . also, i believe it will go very nicely with the new WB Volksgrenadiers.

Very nice display, Mike. You are really branching out.

Thank you very much Andreas . . . . . . my branching out is turning into a big expensive tree and I am running out of garden space . . . . .

Very nice scenes Mike. I plan to start the LCP collection soon. Didn't recognize the Dept 56 pieces until you mentioned it. Goes very well with the figs. Very well done. Chris
