My JJD Wheels Across the Desert Collection (1 Viewer)

Very nice scenes Mike. I plan to start the LCP collection soon. Didn't recognize the Dept 56 pieces until you mentioned it. Goes very well with the figs. Very well done. Chris

Thanks Chris . . . . I have the first LCP offerings pre-ordered and am anxiously awaiting their release . . . .

JJD sets WAD-20 and WAD-20D were delivered to my door yesterday afternoon. Wow! This is a beautifully done model and immediately became my favorite JJD sets above all others in my collection. The detailing on this model as compared to period historic photos is spot on . . . . small details include proper radiator emblem, and; bi-pod on Lewis gun can be opened and closed, Lewis gun swivels up and down, and it rotates 360 degrees. The mechanical simplicity of this vehicle and yet its ruggedness epitomizes the Great War to end all wars being also labeled the "first mechanized war". Just very pleased with this addition to my Wheels Across the Desert collection. Really looking forward to the next two cars and their crews . . . . .

No question it is a stand out piece. John has cracked a winner with this line of vehicles. Robin.

Indeed he has Robin . . . . The offerings from John just keep getting better and better. The Wheels Across the Desert range has the potential to be one of his best . . . .

Silent Sue's crew are just so natural, really sit nicely in this vehicle. Great shot Mike. So many variations of scenes are possible for this series, notwithstanding just changing figures around to the other vehicles when they are released. The armoured vehicles worked hand in hand with these Light Patrol vehicles, so yet again many more scenes are possible. Robin.

I totally agree Robin . . . . The possible scenic variations eventually are numerous to say the least . . . .

???? Well Photo Bucket has blocked my availability to upload my pictures to the TF Forum (3rd Party Hosting). In order to be able to continue to do this I have to upgrade my service options which will cost $400 a year. Guess what . . . . that's not going to happen. Has anybody else experienced this? Going forward I will try and upload photos via the TF forum site but its been so long ago since I did that I don't remember how its done. I'll be back when I get this figured out . . . . .

:smile2: Mike

Well I have figured out how to upload photos to my TF threads without the need for PhotoBucket. Here's a previously posted photo from this thread uploading my photos from my computer directly to this post. Please keep in mind that in order to upload to TF your photos can be no larger than 1500x1100 and might have to be re-sized before you upload to TF . . . .

There's more than one way to "skin a cat" . . . . . I saved this image from PB to my computer, re-sized it, and then uploaded it to TF. At least this tells me that my photos that still exist in my albums on Photo Bucket are easily retrievable . . . .

Mike, I've never had any confidence in ostensibly free services to preserve data for me. Every pic that I've ever posted to a forum is backed-up, locally, and on a company server. To that end, you might want to consider finding a second location to store your files. You never know when PB might change the rules on you...AGAIN.

Also, someone might want to start a conversation in regard to the guidelines for posting images here. Perhaps the site should REQUIRE posters to use TF hosting. I suggest that because this action of PB has wrecked hundreds of threads that were focused on thousands and thousands photos hosted off-site. Something to think about.

Well this tough looking lot arrived at my doorstep this afternoon. I know its not a JJD Jagdpanther but its still a beauty to me just the same . . . .

These little vehicles are just as nice as the Tank Destroyer. Looking forward to setting them out in scenes. Robin.

Awesome little vehicles like these Mike is the reason why I hope John makes Jeeps, Kubelwagens and other World War 2 soft skin vehicles. Of course I want him to continue with bringing out armour as well.

Thanks Tom. Its to the point now that I believe John can create anything he sets his mind to . . . . Jeeps and Kubelwagens, how neat would that be . . .

Thanks Steve . . . . not familiar with imugur, will have to check on it . . .

I posted this picture previously but it was blocked for viewing by Photo Bucket because of their new Third Party Hosting policy. I retrieved it from Photo Bucket, saved it to my computer and re-sized it . . . .
