One of the things I really like about this series Mitch is that we celebrate both the pilots and their aircraft. We've had the two victorious planes in the Hurricane and now the Spit, and also a stream of RAF Heroes. Already this range must have had more real life figures than most others, and the fact they keep coming in this 70th Anniversary of Victory year is most welcome
Tommorow is 70 years to the day since 'The hardest day' of the Battle, when the Luftwaffe hurled themselves at this island looking for a knockout blow. Kenley Airfield suffered a big raid with many killed and wounded and plenty of damage too, however within 24hrs it was up and running again and the Luftwaffe paid a high price in lost aircraft for this raid that they could ill afford.
Tommorow I will remember the hardest day and give thanks for every single one of our heroes and the first real defeat Hitler suffered and its effect on the whole of the Second World War.
