Salut!
Here is my redoubt, which I have finally finished. Here is the story:

Lord Wellington ordered an old redoubt to be refitted, and turned into his HQ, as well as a field hospital. It is manned by a dozen or so Coldstream lights, some 95th, and a lone 42nd piper (musicians often helped surgeons). You can see a sapper chopping firewood, a surgeon "operating" , wounded soldiers laying on the ground, generals talking to each other/wounded soldiers, and even a 95th officer conversing with a prisoner of war, who is being hastily pulled aside, due to a French atta.... A FRENCH ATTACK!!!!! Yes, some French light inf. grenadiers have commenced a raid on the Brit. camp! The small details of soldiers run to man the walls....

Looks great Sandor and thanks for sharing it with us. Nice to have another WBritain collector on board.

Well .. that's a very nice & well made Redoubt, you have there. Offers many other possibilities ... I would love to see manufacturer release a "Pirates of the Carribean" range to go with that.

Thank you for sharing.

Sandor...love your redoubt...especially the brick corner...I see the flagdude gets around...I bought that same flag myself...I wish my first dio looked that good...very nice work...

What a Fantastic redoubt Sandor

love the photos too !!!!!.:D

A real treat , you have made my day !!!!:D:D

Very best wishes Mark

Now I am making an AWI/F&I blockhouse, which is kind of less than perfect, but, as I don't collect AWI, it is kind of just for the fun of making a log structure. You should see the pile of sticks in my basement, its really surprising how much I needed for this redoubt!

Really nicely done! You created a credible context for these figures, and your work on the redoubt is excellent...tons of work making all those little details, I know...but isn't it worth it?! :)

Nice job!

Very nicely done Sandor - thanks for sharing with us . . .
:) Mike

Great job, Sandor. Finally found your thread. Great pictures, too!

Maybe after you build the AWI display you'll be motivated to get some figures from that period. Britains DOES make AWI figures! :D

Sandor...I was just looking at this again and really like how you laid the door on top of some barrels and used it for a surgery table...the blood smeared all over it is a nice touch...

Great job. I enjoyed looking at your photos. Thanks for posting.

Hi Sandor,
Fantastic! I especially like the plank bridge, and stone tower.
Looking for to seeing the block house.
By the way, what did you use to make the redoubt?
Benjamin

Sorry for not replying earlier, I have been very busy:( Thanks to all for the compliments, I and will post some pics of the redoubt in its various stages soon.

Well thanks, but you should be saying this to either Ken or Allen:D. That is the table that came with the surgeon, so can't take the credit for that one. It's a really great set, and I am hoping fro a French counterpart...

For the bridge, I took strait sticks from my backyard (I live in the woods), and
used a chisel and hammer to make perpendicular notches all along four sides of the stick. I then used the chisel to carve away the wood and bark in between these notches, creating an authentic pattern of cuts. It was also kind up fun, and very messy. As I said, pics of the process later, but basically, the walls are foam That I cut, placed on top of a cardboard base/box thing, with plaster cloth stretched over to make the slope and ditch, and carving fro the stone (with sand mixed in with the paint). Then I set about painting and laying out tons of little planks.

Thanks all,
Sandor
