An awesome Cat Flying Boat and I like how they displayed her in a bed of artificial water and a backdrop. Nice B25 Bomber as well.

Last pic's of another B24 Liberator Bomber and Sam next to a Boeing B-29 Superfortress.

This ends my trip as the next day I flew to LA for an overnight stay then on the Singapore Airlines bird back home the following day. I was in the US for a bit over 3 weeks.

Thanks to Sam, his wife Beth, all the guys and gals at the Texas Toy Soldier Show, Duke, his wife Cynthia, his mum Barbara, Chris (the dude!) and his wife Sarah (aka KGB) for making my trip awesome and for all the hospitality that I received from everyone.

Great pics of your visit to the Pima museum Tom. That is one awesome collection of aircraft! Thanks for posting all those.

Good to see you are in some of the shots Tom, proves you were actually there. Like that V-1 rocket. Really extensive and vast display, a lot to take in. Robin.

I have to admit, Tom was a bit under the weather for the Pima Air Museum but he stuck it out like a champ for the entire day there!!! I believe we spent nearly 4-5 hours there and a sheet ton of walking, along with the temps that day outside reaching near 100 degrees Tom didn't bat an eye at the heat, I was glad to revisit the Museum with him as it had been a few years since my last visit and had no clue of some of the new planes that were in place, (Spit, Mustang, Hurricane) were all new, I had a chance to talk to some of the volunteers there about possibly joining up as a volunteer myself in the near future.

Heat does not bother any Australian. Tom comes from the North where it is especially hot. Robin.

Amazing museum Tom, never been there but now on my list. Nice shot of a Guppy. Have seem them fly at times many yrs ago. Chris

Thanks Chris, yeah the Guppy is an impressive aircraft and I saw one in a documentary recently where it's still flying and being used by a civilian company to haul specialised cargo for customers.

Great photos Tom, looks like a really epic trip!^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool

Thanks Louis and I'm kinda sad that the epic trip has ended.

Thanks Duke and you'll love visiting this place as it's right up your alley with aircraft. They are getting more aircraft in including I believe an ME109!

Thanks Sam, yeah, the flu and my sinus's knocked me around a bit but the heat was fine as I'm use to it in Darwin as Robin said. Hope the heat will get better for ya mate as I know it's a lot hotter now compared to when I was there.

Thanks to everyone that provided a like as well.

Thanks again Tom for the great photos from the Air/Space Museum.... If any members have travels through on near Tucson in the future give me a shout, we live only about 20 minutes from the Museum and it's always something new to see on each visit.

New planes in the works are a WWII P-40 Warhawk, German ME-109, another restored P-38.

Just catching up with you mate and what an awesome trip thanks for taking the time to share and good to see old Butch outdoors ^&grin

That museum looks amazing just needs a bar.

No worries mate and I reckon the old volunteer blokes that man the tables near the planes would agree with you! ^&grin They probably have some coldies stashed in eskies nearby so I reckon if me and Sam hung around late we might have been offered a coldy or two!

Ha!! trust me Butch I felt like the "old Butch" after that day!!! we did the mountains from 8-11:30 in morning, then the Air museum from about 12ish to around 5 by late afternoon, lots of walking/hiking, but loved every minute of it!!! now jump on that big bird.

I promise ya I'll find you all the cold ones you can drink!! ^&grin^&grin

Got to say Tom, this photo with the Mustang turned out really well, I'll add some of the photos from my I-phone tommorow, got the B-52 Texas logo for Mike Miller to see. :)

Thomas and I on Mt. Lemmon at Windy Point.

This photo kind of gives you an idea how long a B-52 Stratofortress is!!! I'm at the tail end while Tom is near the nose.

A nice scenic view from atop Mt. Lemmon.

Just a photo I snapped as the Sun was shinning through a huge pine.

No, I didn't forget to rotate the photo :), this was in the Space Center and was a neat optical illusion as you stood near the mirror it would rotate you upside down.

Excellent pic's Sam, thanks for posting mate and I'm glad your son in law wasn't cruising past on the outside of the fence when that pic was taken. Your wife Beth would have dropped the camera! {eek3}^&grin

As for the pic of me on the cliff, mate, I was taking in the awesome views and definitely not thinking about the forum!!
