Sever below zero temperatures continue . . . A perfect day to stay inside and enjoy my JJD WWII BH Corsairs, deck crew figures, and carrier deck base. Now that BH-03 has landed, I spent some time rearranging the deck crew figures I have. Even with 6 deck plates (BH-100 x 2, BH-200 x 2, and BH-300 x 2), its getting a little crowded. With the anticipated release of at least 15 new deck crew figures this year, along with deck tractors, rocket carriers, and possibly other deck maintenance equipment, I am now considering acquiring another BH-100, BH-200, and BH-300 which would extend the current deck display another 15 inches. I am thoroughly enjoying this range . . . GO NAVY! (and that's coming from one who served in the USMC) . . . .

You are killing me here, Mike, with this splendid display all around. .. WOW. {sm3}

Definitely looks like another set of decking is going to be required to hold all the new JJD releases this year.
What the heck, build an extension on the house and get TWO more sets of the Bunker Hill decking ...

I am SURE .. :p .. the MRS MIKE won't mind a bit!

LaRRy . . . if you keep giving me these crazy ideas I might have to make you a co-defendant in my divorce case

Mike,

You have yourself a very nice collection there! It's a beautiful display and makes me wish I had the funds and the room to dive into this range.

Very nice and thanks for sharing.

As long as you get to keep the JJD Bunker Hill sets … everything else is trivial. ^&grin

Why thank you Mark. One of the many things I like about this range is the ease in making a nice looking display. I especially like that I don't have to worry about ground work, trees, water features, rocks, enemy combatants, et al, in order to make a realistic looking diorama.

Very nice display Mike. Looks great with the deck crew and all three acft. Chris

We are getting reports here in Australia about your deep freeze warning people to not breathe if they go outside, minus 50 in some places. You will never be able to launch your planes off the deck in these conditions ^&grin, stay warm. Heat wave here, no tennis for me darn. Robin.

Mike, I found a nice pic that reminded me of your setup:

Gotta be a story to tell in there somewhere.

Really neat photo. Look at all those tractors and jeeps. All sorts of traffic jams in the making.:wink2: -- Al

Last pic looks like a triage situation, but I don’t think it’s associated with the kamikaze attack that put Bunker Hill out of the war.

Moe, could be a triage drill, judging by the lack of urgency exhibited. ^&confuse -- Al

Thanks Robin. I'll just have to de-ice the wings before my planes are launched. Literally that's what the airports in the area are doing in this frigid weather we are having. Heat wave coming . . . supposed to be +10F tomorrow . . . that's warm compared to -30F that we have had the past two days.

Totally a very cool period photo . . . I really like that its a historic photo of the USS Bunker Hill and the activity on its deck. Looking forward to the release of the motorized tractor . . . I am planning on getting two of them. Thanks Moe for sharing it with me . . ..

These are super looking photos of the Bunker Hill and its crowded flight deck. This photo of White-158 preparing for launch really reminds me of what I am trying to create with my display. Really neat stuff . . . .

Thanks Mike . . . thoroughly enjoyed our telephone chat yesterday . . .
:smile2: Mike

it was really nice catching up with you...
I wish we lived closer...
try to stay warm...
and when I see you...
please have all your fingers and both your ears...^&grin

Already a superb diorama. Look forward to seeing the expanded version. Well done.
