My USS Bunker Hill Display Update (1 Viewer)

Already a superb diorama. Look forward to seeing the expanded version. Well done.

Thank you very much Steve. Already set the wheels in motion to acquire the extra deck plates over the next couple of months. I am also looking forward to the expanded version of my display.

This afternoon aircraft carrier deck plates BH-100, BH-200, and BH-300 were delivered to my front porch. I now have collected 3 of each deck plate making my USS Bunker Hill display base approximately 45-inches long and 30 - inches wide . . . plenty of room for everything I have collected to date as well as future figure releases as well as the deck tractors. I'm really glad I decided to get these extra deck pieces now and am really liking how the BH display is shaping up.

Thank you very much my good Texian friend. I truly am enjoying my WWII carrier collection. TS are great to have on a cold wintry day with mixed precipitation of freezing rain and sleet {eek3}. Not fit out to say the least.

3 sets … {eek3} … so now I know where they all went …! :p

Oh Man …. what a incredible display that you have assembled and built. Soooooo impressive.
Now that you have all of that BH decking ( green with envy ) it looks more and more like the real Bunker Hill.

With your skills I can't wait to see what's going to happen when the newest BH deck crew arrive.

You should be very proud of what you built so far …!

Your display looks truly wonderful Mike,.
Yes with displays like this inspiring others, these sets will become hard to find,

Well done again on your wonderful display. :salute:::salute:::salute::

Thank you LaRRy . . . My thoughts exactly - the longer I make the deck the more the display takes on the appearance of a recognizable carrier deck. Needless to say I will be collecting all the future figure and equipment releases and decided I needed to expand in order to accommodate everything.

Awesome collection Mike, and room to spare! Chris

Thanks Chris . . . THe new releases that we have had a sneak peek at will certainly fill in the spare room on the deck . . . .

Steve

Thanks so much Steve. These deck sets are starting to be hard to find and I understand that BH-100 and BH-200 are "out of stock" for the time being. I have been told that John will produce more but not right away. By the way, I served in the USMC in the early 70's and your current output of Viet Nam diorama scenarios are always an enjoyment to view for me. Your talent for making ground work and jungle scenes far exceed mine . . . . that's why I do aircraft carrier decks :wink2:

Mike, I have one question about your magnificent display...how do you turn your house into the wind for launching? Like your 'Sara' display, your 'Bunker Hill' display is the dream for me. You have a remarkable creation there and like others, I am very envious. Beautiful job. :salute:: -- Al

Thanks a bunch Al. Its an extremely wintry and windy day here in south central Wisconsin. Wind is gusting upwards to 35-50 mph. If it gets any windier there will be no trouble turning my house into the wind for launching :wink2:. In order to make room for my Bunker Hill expansion I have had to take a third of my SARA deck plates off my display table. The SARA deck plates that were removed are now on my shelf display with a JJD Wildcat on them and a few of the deck crew figures.

:smile2: Mike

Received these figures in this afternoon's mail; JJD BH-29 "Hot Papas" USS Bunker Hill Fire Rescue figures. In my opinion these two figures are some of the best made by John for the BH ranges. Lots of detail and a really nice paint finish. The protective helmets actual have a clear plastic face shield inserted in them . . . incredible detail . . . John is a magician . . .

Mike...those are really cool...and innovative...the clear plastic shield...still showing the face...is a novel idea...
