My Western European Diorama Under Construction (2 Viewers)

Outstanding diorama !

It has been so great to watch this come together over the months.

Your sharing of the effort and attention to detail is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Well done Tom, looks like you've finished. I think it's a work of art, one of the best WW2 dioramas i've seen. The water scenes turned out great and you might have become an expert in that area now. The diorama will be the showpiece of your collection and i wonder how you will display it.
Look forward to the next one. Regards Greg.

Excellent job on the dio Tom, the water looks great {bravo}}

Thanks Oz.

Mate i take my hat off to you that looks absolutely magnificent well done cobber you must be pleased.

Thanks mate and yeah, I'm pretty happy with the water result and the dio as a whole.

Great work Tom, lessons learnt lead to better dioramas as you do more...........:salute::

Thanks Wayne and yeah, lessons learnt for sure and the good thing about building this dio is there weren't any serious muck ups, just a few minor things which were relatively easy to fix. Thanks again for building the house and railway bridge.

Yup, I never doubted you Tom, you were going to get the water effect right. Now the diorama is complete, just need to find lots of ways to introduce figures and vehicles to compliment your work over and over again. The era's I collect would do well with this excellent terrain. Let me know when you want to move it on^&grin, Robin.

Thanks Robin and what size is your man cave again...^&grin

Tom...

that is a really nice piece of work...with the scenic props you chose...that diorama is versatile for any figures within the last 300 years...the buildings are timeless in design and your Mother Nature groundwork choices could actually be found anywhere in the world today...I know you poured your heart and soul into this diorama...a total labor of love...I hope you enjoy it for years to come...great job...

when do you start the next one...^&grin...?

Thanks Mike and yeah, I threw myself into making this one and thankfully I still have plenty of hair left!! ^&grin The next one, hmmm, maybe not for a while but when I do start another one it will be smaller!

Thanks Ivan, I'm glad you like it.

Thanks Greg, that's very humbling that you think my diorama is up there amongst the best. I'm looking forward to seeing your diorama with the water affect.

Superb is all I can say. Even Wayne might be jealous ^&grin

I'm sure you will get many years of pleasure out of it. Worthy of a write up in one of the hobby journals, in my opinion.

I truly have nothing to say other than that is completely STUNNING!
The rocky hill is spectacular!

Tom, great job on the water, and over all this is a great diorama, so many aspects and details that make it come to life. Again great job, I know I already said that but just can not help myself. Can't wait to see your future posts using it. Chris

Thanks Brad, I'm lost for words on the last bit you said so all i'll say is again I'm humbled.

Thanks Chris, your brilliant dio's have inspired me to try the moving water effects in the future.

Thanks to everyone else for the likes.

Very hard to put into words about how good this is , just brilliant . So many different scenarios , you should be very proud of this . Well done mate cheers graham

Tom,

its great to see that the 'drought has broken' up in the 'Top End' and the creeks are flowing :)

Well Done on a magnificent looking diorama, so mow lets see it fully manned, with lines of vehicles and troops..... :)

Thanks Graham and your dio is coming along nicely as well.

Certainly a labour of love. A very versatile piece. Robin.

Thanks again Robin, hope you are having a nice time in Paree.

Thanks John, not quite the drought has broken in the Top End as I would have to create a fast flowing river with the torrential rains we get up here! ^&grin Yes, I will be doing a dio shoot with a line of vehicles and troops soon. I reckon Wayne might even be pleased with what I have in mind..

Thanks also to the people that have provided a like.

Tom Mate, you've out done yourself with the creek pour and vegetaton. You must be really stoked with the end result.:salute::

This has to be one of the best threads on TF right now, with plenty of positive feedback and lots of members jumping in and sharing their knowledge and experiances.

Very cool!

Looking forward to seeing you post some further snaps.{sm4}

Thanks Toddy and yeah, it's been good getting feedback from great dio builders such as Mike, Chris, QLD Wayne, Bob and other forum members including yourself. I'm almost done now and just have a little more grassing to do, planting some more flowers and stringing the power poles together. I'll be doing a dio shoot soon with some vehicles, troops and a backdrop if I can find one large enough {sm2}

Thanks mate and looking at those pic's I sometimes wonder how I got there! It seems like a million years ago when I first started.

Tom

Tom, once again, just a brilliant job, have fun and can't wait for the diorama photos. Chris

Tom...

when I look back at what you started with...
when your dio was in it's crudest form...
just starting to take shape...

that's when I can really appreciate how far you have come with it...
and what a monumental effort it was...

you have taken some wood...
a bunch of foam scraps...
several bottles of glue...
some diorama props...
a few structures...
a absolute ton of your time....

and with your imagination and time...
have whittled it into a fantastic show piece that you can display your figures on...

anyone that has ever built one of these...
it is an intensive time consuming project...

you did a great job...

Been following this thread for some time like many other members here and this post nails it; what a spectacular effort, just brilliant on every level. It's great to see where it all started and what the end result is; threads like this are what this forum should be all about.

I hope you get to enjoy this for years to come; can't say enough good things about it, it's just stunning..................

Thanks again Mike and yeah, I look back at what I did and what I used during the construction and sometimes I think, that turned out better than I thought and I wish I did that better or used a different product. But overall I'm happy with how it has turned out and I hope I have helped other diorama builders with ideas and tips on how to build there dioramas.

Tom I can see that new K&C 250 halftrack in your dio, maybe on the road or positioned in the field covering the railway track. What do you think? Robin.

You're reading my mind Robin! Yeah, got plans to use the new 250 along with a whole bunch of other grey armour which I'm sure that bloke in the west will be happy to hear!
