Any fans out there?

Started getting more interested in the Knicks since the football season effectively ended a few weeks ago. Knicks were supposed to have been a strong team this season but have struggled because they don't have a true point guard and Landry Fields and Shumpert ain't fillin' the bill. The death watch started on the Knick's coach as they slumped to 8-15.

Out of desperation, last Saturday, he turned to Jeremy Lin (who had looked good in small spurts), a graduate of Harvard and Asian, who had some time with the Warriors and Rockets. Both wanted to keep him but no cap room so the Knicks signed him.

Jeremy has been the savior. He has torched some of the best guards in NBA the last three games, scoring 25, 28 and 23 points. The last two games have been more impressive because Carmelo Anthony is out for a couple of weeks with a groin injury and Amare Stoudemire went home because his brother died in a car accident.

The kid has taken NY by storm and now with the Giants SB victory in the past is the talk of the town. In fact, that's all everybody is talking about.

Surprise Star Jolts the NBA.

CRICKETS.......................

The Lakers are playing the Celtics tonight and nobody in Boston cares, mainly because both teams have too many players over the age of 30 and stink.

Pretty moronic for the NBA to have the stones to have an allstar game this year too.

Idiotic is more like it.

I did hear something pretty funny the other day; rumor is Rondo may be heading to the Lakers, now wouldn't that be AWESOME? Wasn't it you Mike Miller who called him a cross dresser or something else to that effect, he may be on your team, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

My attention is now on the Bruins, hoping they make another cup run into June, then take a month off from sports while waiting for the NFL training camps to open up, taking a pass on baseball this year too, could care less.

I don't know about not caring. Good game goin' at the half. Celts by two. The place is sold out.

I swear to God but Shaq has the worst on camera personality.

Ainge brought the big 3 together and they won a championship, then the following year Garnett blew his knee out and they lost to Orlando, then the following year they went to the finals, Perkins blew his knee out in game 6, they blew a late fourth quarter lead in game 7 and the Lakers won the title.

Last year they had the best record in the east and Ainge pulled one of the worst trades in NBA history, shipping Perkins out to Oklahoma City and then went in the tank.

The big three are old, Perkins is gone and they are toast, playing the Lakers is just a sideshow...............

They went to OT but Lakers won by a point. Total of 11 points scored in the extra frame.

Lakers vs depleted Knicks tomorrow. Time for more Lin-sanity!

if Rivers, Boston and their fans doesn't want Rondo...I hope we get him...he was an All Star pick just last year wasn't he...George Guerriero...it's so sad...how quickly they are forgotten in "Bean Town"...we'll just wash the green off him...put a little gold glitter under those mascara lined eyes and he will fit right in with the LA crowd...heck...we'll even swap you Fisher for him...he was a sweet 0-7 tonight...

it's sad how quickly Boston sports teams and fans bury their stars...poor Welker...I'm surprised the mob hasn't lynched him yet...I guess he will be with the Cowboys next year...

anyway...

loved the game tonight George Guerriero...the guy you referred to as "having a face only his mother could love"...which prompted me to make the Rondo comment you brought up...slapped Allen's last second weak attempt right off the court...25 with 14...a strong night wouldn't you say...

you can relive it here...

The Lakers-Celts game was the first that I watched this year. You can't beat that for tradition no matter how the teams are playing. Don't like to see the Lakers in the home uniforms though on the road. It's "royal blue" tradition for me when they play in Boston. I agree with George that the Perkins trade was one of the worst. The Celts haven't been the same. But if the NY Giants taught us anything it's that mediocre teams that stay healthy can get hot and make some noise in the playoffs. So anything is possible.

Rondo moped around after his buddy Perkins was traded away last year; sack up and play ball like you're paid to do, you don't run the team, Ainge does.

If we get something as good in return, then trade him.

Wes Welker; another crybaby, been moaning for weeks about how he's a soon to be free agent, he needs to get paid, blah, blah, blah; no Wes, you need to MAKE THE CATCH WHEN THE BALL HITS YOU SQUARE IN THE HANDS.

He makes that catch, the game is over.

You want him in Dallas, you can have him for 8 million a year, your owner has that much dough tied up in hair pieces; he should get a chinstrap for the one he wears now, that thing looks like a section of carpeting.

That's great Mike that the Lakers came in here and showed the Celtics who's boss, their whopping 4th road win of the year.

Wow, what excitement, start planning the parade after that win.

The Celtics will be one and done this year in the playoffs; Garnett, gone, Allen, gone, Pierce, hopefully he gets traded, dont' think he can go through more mediocre Celtic years on the back 9 of his career.

As Doug said, Ainge ruined a perfectly good team last year with that boneheaded trade.

Weren't the Lakers going to trade Gasol in the deal with New Orleans, he'd be perfect in that city, can see him on a float during Mardi Gras throwing beads out to the girls along the parade route...................

You got that right; sleepwalk through the year, hang around and win a weak division, back into the playoffs, catch 936 breaks along the way and bingo, a 9-7 team wins a championship.

Ain't sports great?

When Jerry got his face wrinkles stretched out...they permanently superglued that thing on...I hear it's better that Jimmy Johnson's in a gale force wind now...

and that pass hardly hit Welker "SQUARE IN THE HANDS"...Brady threw that ball high and outside when he should have thrown it inside...Welker was twisting just to get his hands on it...I don't blame Welker...it was a bad pass that Brady wishes he had a chance to throw again...

the Cowboys don't need receivers...they need an offensive line and a secondary...7 more years of drafts and rebuilding...we'll be there...^&grin

Brady threw it where he did as if he didn't, Welker would have gotten killed as there was a safety coming down over the top; thumbs in, both hands on the ball, he dropped it, a catch he makes in his sleep.

It happens, nobody is perfect, they are human beings, not robots in the end.

Jerry needs to stay out of the coaches way and let him coach and let the players play, if they hadn't blown that game vs the Giants early in the year, maybe they would have been in the Super Bowl.

The NFL is a farce, such a watered down product, two very flawed teams in the Super Bowl, imagine if the 1990's Cowboys, 1980's 49ers or 1970's Steelers played either of these teams, the score would have been 51-0.

The Super Bowl is supposed to be a match between the two best teams and this was far from it, there have been way too many Super Bowls lately with 9-7,10-6,11-5 winners....................I'm waiting for the first 7-9 winner.

Brad...sorry to step on your toes...but it probably would have been easier not to read it than to type directions...

The Lakers have just tasted L-I-N-S-A-N-I-T-Y!!!

Jeremy Lin!!

Jeremy Lin!!

I just watched the game. I have been a Knicks fan since the Willis Reed era. Used to listen to the games all the time, but lost interest in basketball the past 5 years. Was a great game and tit for tat between Lin and Bryant. I never saw a more enthusiastic player than Lin. This team really feeds off him right now..As long as Stod and Anthony can now fit into this new Lin dynamic, this Knicks team might be able to make some playoff noise this year..Michael

Same here Michael. Let's just hope that when Melo returns he doesn't try to hog the ball. The last four games have been a lot of fun. Unexpected but fun. He's sure saved D'Antoni's job.

Lin is just looking great, going to have a closer look at him in about half an hour (Knicks at Timberwolves). I really like a great guard, especially a point guard like Chris Paul, fantastic. But you have a lot of them to choose from: Rondo, B. Jennings, Nash, Parker... My favourites, the Lakers, would really need one of these guys, Fisher is fine but he is not on a par. The showtime is now coming from the Clippers, but when play-off time comes up, that's when it will really count. Chicago are looking very solid, not so sure about Oklahoma, good players, good record, but some unexpected losses against the...Wizards^&grin, for instance, can you believe it? I really enjoyed watching the Spurs against Oklahoma, they are a great team, Tony Parker and Duncan are class acts even as veterans, you can't rule them out. What about Miami? I have some simpathy for the Timberwolves (from our hosts' land, remember^&grin), I really like Rubio and Love (like this one better than Griffin really...).
NBA aside my son's basketball team won today, nice stuff, I almost ruined my throat after shouting REBOUND, REBOUND, REBOUND and DEFENCE, DEFENCE, DEFENCE some 1 000 times^&grin...

Five in a row for the Knicks. Not a real great night for Lin as he struggled in the second half but Shumpert, Fields and Novak with his 3s made the difference, plus they played great D in the second half.

I really think that the TWolves should have won this one, but the Knicks stayed close enough and in the end did prevail. I liked Love and Rubio, they are very talented, but once again, something missing at the end of the game for the TWolves. I think they will become better. Also New York are playing better without...Melo and Stoudemire... I liked Shumpert for this one.
Off to watch ''my'' Lakers...

I agree with you Paulo. I thought the T Wolves were going to win this one but they stopped scoring when it mattered and, as the Knicks announcer said, they stole one.

Did you notice that the T Wolves shirt said Muskies. This was to honor the Minnesota Muskies of the old American Basketball Association who played one year in Minnesota before they moved to Florida and became the Floridians.
