sitting down key players at certain points. QUOTE]
if you can blame a loss on one person...I blame this loss on Popovich... I know you can look at every game and pick out 20 fouls the refs missed...or 20 mistakes each team made...and all could have made a point or two difference that could have turned a game...
but the most glaring ones to look back on...are in the last minute of the game...when mistakes can make or break you...in a close game like this one...the last minute or too is always most scrutinized...
why Duncan was on the bench on those 2 possessions...
you got me...
one rebound and this game was over...
I don't understand why Popovich did this...
but honestly...Popovich has forgotten more about basketball than I will ever know...so...if they had won...I would have called him a genius...
but...
instead they lost...
Popovich seems obsessed with resting his players. Didn't he bench several of his starters during one regular season game and get fined by the NBA? Some ESPN commentator said before game 6 that Popovich would have preferred not to play Duncan, Parker, and Manny at all in game 6 and save them rested for game 7. Rightly or wrongly he believes he has a better chance by limiting their minutes. If Ray Allen doesn't knock down that three, they are the champs. So whose to say? He's a great coach, but got burned by the way game 6 played out. If he rallies these guys and they steal game 7, no one will care. I have a sinking feeling that won't happen though. It was not only a crushing loss, but Miami must be feeling like they are fated to win.
