For some reason, they could not away the Spurs tonight. It was ripe for the taking. Maybe a little more selfish play by Lebron was needed at that point. Who knows? I'm sure the handwringing has begun with the Heat fans.

that was a good game last night...really glad the Spurs took homecourt advantage by stealing the first game...

I'm not a big fan of the 2-3-2 format either...I think it's too hard for the team with the lesser record to win 3 in a row at home...

at this level (final's playoffs)...home court advantage is not as important as most regular season games...while it's still huge...both these teams are capable of road wins any night...

I wish they would re-instate the 2-2-1-1-1 format...it seems more fair to the underdog to me...2-3-2 favors the team with the best record too much in my opinion...

Go Spurs!

okay...

would love to see San Antonio steal Game 2...I really would...but really expect a "total all out must win effort" from Miami...

and if SA wins Game 2...

I don't think Miami will get back home for a Game 6...

it's gonna be a good one...Lebron might get 40...

I'll have to watch the tape of Game of Thrones final episode after the game...

Go Spurs!!!

I agree. If they don't win they're screwed. However, I expect a big game from Lebron. My feeling is that the Spurs played a perfect game, about as well as they can play, whereas the Heat did not. Lebron was too passive and needs to start playing like the player he is.

Brad...

here's a tidbit for you...could be a gamer killer...^&grin

Well, this could get interesting.

Joey Crawford, Ed Malloy and Ken Mauer are your referees for Game 2 of the NBA Finals Sunday night.

Spurs fans just freaked out a little.

They shouldn’t, but they are. I get why they are not happy — Crawford is the referee who threw Tim Duncan out of a game in 2007 for laughing. Seriously. Duncan was fined for the incident but Crawford was suspended for the rest of the NBA season “improper conduct and a lack of professionalism.”

Duncan said at the time Crawford has a personal vendetta against him. The Spurs went on to win the NBA title that year.

you gotta watch this video...

Crawford may be the MVP for Miami tonight...

he does not like San Antonio...

I never heard this story...this guy is crazy...

Don't think the size of the win will mean much. Celtics destroyed Lakers in the opening game several years ago and Lakers came back to take the series. If you're the Spurs, this is the easiest kind if game to forget.

well...in the second half...Miami showed why they had the best record in the league this year...they really are a deep and talented team...

heck...their bench put up 40...

and if you missed the game and someone told you Lebron was 7-17 for 17 points...

you might have guessed San Antonio stole another game...

or at least it was closer than the final score...

That was a must win game for Miami at home. Not likely they lose two in a row at home. The test will be on the road. I'm guessing the Spurs take two of three at home and go back up 3-2.

Nah, this league isn't rigged; it's the only one where you see and hear about this sort of nonsense where a guy has it in for a player or a team.

What a farce.

I forgot all about the foolish 2-3-2 format this league uses, all Miami has to do is win one of three in SA and they got this, they can win 2 at home to close it out if they have to..............

Angel Hernandez has had it in for the Mets for years so Crawford is not the only one.

That being said, I didn't see anything anti Spurs or pro Heat last night.

How come no one says anything about MLB using 2-3-2 format. I actually think it helps the team with the three home games. I'd rather have those three games back to back than not.

You are correct Brad, there are some umpires who have it in for certain pitchers, that is for sure.

I don't like the 2-3-2; San Antonio steals game one, goes home tied at 1-1, unless they sweep at home (not likely), they go back to Miami either up or down 3-2. With the 2-2-1-1-1 format, if you steal game 1 and go home tied 1-1, if you sweep at home, you can go back to the visitor up 3-1 and can either close them out there or back home.

From the get go, this has seemed to be the Spurs game. For lack of better words, they seem more focused and more motivated than the Heat. It's not even midway through the 3rd Quarter but I'd be surprised if they lost.

This is game 2 redux: easy to forget but I wonder if the Heat have ever gotten a butt whipping like this on a national stage?

yea...

well...I guess San Antonio likes home their cooking...

Green and Neal alone outscored the Miami starting bench...

if you had told me Duncan...Parker and Ginobli had 12-6-7 points respectively...

I would have replied that I bet they lost by 20 points...

go figure...

I expect a much bigger effort from Miami Thursday...

What a curb stomping that was, specifically the second half.............wow.

I too expect Miami to come out Thursday ready to go; if they get waxed again, they are in big trouble.

Nobody has ever punched them in the mouth like that before, that is for sure.........

This series reminds me more and more of the Lakers-Celts matchups from the 60's. Superstars vs a team deep at every position. I think Miami gets one in San Antonio and then it's a question of whether the Spurs can get one of two on the road. For some reason a team that gets blown out usually gets a win in the follow up game. If Miami goes down 3-1 though they are in deep trouble. I can't see them winning three in a row.
