I too expect Miami to come out Thursday ready to go; if they get waxed again, they are in big trouble.

If San Antonio wins Game 4...going up 3-1...
I don't think Miami can beat them 3 in a row in any venue...een if the last 2 games are in Miami...

I think Miami gets one in San Antonio and then it's a question of whether the Spurs can get one of two on the road. If Miami goes down 3-1 though they are in deep trouble. I can't see them winning three in a row.

100% agreed...the 2-3-2 format definitely favors them now...

Game 4 is the most important...it would put Miami in a huge hole with a ton of pressure...if Miami takes Game 4...they still have a chance...if they lose Game 4...it's too much pressure to win 3 in a row against SA...they are a very good road team...

I think a road win at this level is much easier for these teams...at the level that they both play...home court is not as much of an advantage as it is to other teams...both of these teams are so good...that playoff roads wins are not unusual in either case...

Miami came with a must win mentality last night. Night and day from game 3. Wade played out of his mind. Game 5 is a must win for the Spurs. I'm guessing they take that one and go back to Miami up 3-2.

agreed...

look for a 100% effort from the Spurs in Game 5...they should win...I just can't see them losing 2 in a row at home...the are pretty desperate for a win here...

Miami should be feeking a little complacent now...having home court advantage back now with the Game 4 steal...

and even with a Spurs win in Game 5...which I think they will get...it's a tough road for the Spurs to win one of the last 2 in Miami with so much on the line...

If the Heat play like they did yesterday, then the series will be quickly over. The trouble is they haven't put two good games back to back in awhile.

Looks like the Celts may be blowing up that team. Trade discussions with the Clippers including Doc Rivers going as coach. The Clippers are also hoping to land Dwight Howard from the Lakers. Hard to believe what they are offering for him. The Lakers should jump on this deal and keep Gasol.

Sources told ESPN.com the Clippers are concurrently weighing the prospect of offering star forward Blake Griffin in tandem with prized young guard Eric Bledsoe to the Los Angeles Lakers in a sign-and-trade pitch to land Dwight Howard after July 1.

The Spurs looked unbeatable last night. Miami hung with them off and on, but they had no real chance. Interesting to see what happens in Miami. It's to be hard to beat the Spurs twice, but stranger things have happened. The Lakers were in this same situation a couple of years ago against the Celts and won the final two games. I'm sticking with the Spurs in six.

There were a couple of times in the second half when the Heat were about to take over, once when they got within three points and I think Lebron missed or tried to do much on a layup and the next thing you know the Spurs were up by eight and then they got to within one and then I think the Spurs went on their 19-1 run. Give all credit to the Spurs.

Since no team has been able to win two in a row in this series, I see this as going seven. In game 7, anything can happen.

I'm really glad San Antonio won Game 5...that was a hectic game filled with hot streaks by both sides...just when you thought San Antonio was blowing them out...Miami would stage a rally...

the role players really came through for San Antonio...Ginolbli is so reckless in the paint...Parker too...but Green seems to be the "giant killer" so far...

both teams will put out a 100% effort for Game 6...if Miami wins Game 6...San Antonio will really be in trouble...if it goes to a Game 7...I think Miami's home court advantage and desire will overcome...

I also don't like the 2-3-2 format for playoff basketball...I still prefer the 2-2-1-1-1 format...

I'm rooting for San Antonio...Game 6 should be a good one...

I also hate the 2-3-2 format; the reason they started it was because it was Celtics/76er's vs the Lakers in the finals so much in the 80's they did it to lessen the travel back and forth from the East to the West coast...........

This game is basically over. Spurs have played better in this series. Not sure what's wrong with the Heat but the Spurs had something to do with that.

Ha! Ha! Good thing I don't make picking sports for a living. Ray Allen was huge ^&cool

I can never understand why a team up 3 points doesn't take a foul in the final seconds. Instead they give the other team a chance to tie. Tough loss. And OT isn't kind to the old San Antonio legs.

I read today that Poppovich was asked that question and didn't react kindly to the question.

If the game was today, I'd say the Spurs have no shot but they have 24 hours to clear their heads and should be ok for game 7. If it lives up to game 6, it will be a heck of a game.

sometimes opportunity only knocks once...I think SA really missed the boat here...I can't see any way possibly that Miami will not stomp them in Game 7...but I hope they can hang tough and make a game of it...

Ginobli...oh my God...how many turnovers did he have...

gotta give Miami credit...they rallied from down 12 and pushed it to overtime...

missed free throws will kill you in the last few seconds of a game...

sometimes...and as great a player as he is...sometimes...Lebron just looks lost out there...

I expect Miami to win large in Game 7...but I hope San Antonio can hang tough and steal it...

Mike,

I wouldn't write off SA just yet. No team in this series has been able to win two in a row. I don't know if Miami has it in them. Although no road team has apparently won a seventh game in over 30 years, that streak does have to end sometime. I agree that Lebron has not looked good. However, I think the Spurs defense has been very good. I'm not a Heat fan but something seem to happen to them. During the season people were asking if the Heat would lose any games on their march to a second title. Maybe the competition just got stiffer and they started to believe their news clippings.

I really can't see it being a blowout, either way. Hope it's an enjoyable game.

This could be me but I think the playoffs this year has attracted more fans than in the past.

Brad

Given that Miami had no TO's left on that last possession, it was a no brainer for the Spurs to foul and not give up the three point shot to tie the game. After the FTs, Miami would have to foul and that means the ball goes to other end of the court for the SA free throws. With no TOs, Miami would have to bring the ball up the entire court to get off a desperation shot likely still down three.

Some great points made here.

What a game that was, incredible really.

What a gag job by San Antonio, up 12, they lose the lead, they go up by 5 and are within 21 seconds of winning the title and they give up not one, but two 3 point shots to tie the game.

Agree 1000% with Doug; up by 3, 19 seconds left, FOUL THE GUY. And why was Duncan out at the end there? To guard against the 3? There was nobody underneath to get the rebound on the miss, Bosh gets it and throws it out to a wide open Judas Shuttleworth, who naturally nails the shot to tie the game.

Where was that shot in the ECF last year anyway Judas?

Naturally the ex Celtic comes through for the Heat.

SA is emotionally destroyed, can't see anyway they pull this thing out, last night was their time to do it.

Have to love Lebron, he commits not one, but two boneheaded turnovers towards the end, would have been the goat for sure, then he whiffs on the 3, gets another shot and nails it.

If I'm a SA fan, I'm looking for a sword to fall on; last night was the basketball version of game 6 of the 1986 World Series......................

One of the local radio hosts here at WFAN had a couple of good points: game 6 might be one of the better games ever, with all the local twists and turns that each team experienced and there were some questionable coaching decisions, such as the decision not to foul by the Spurs and sitting down key players at certain points.

However, one of the worst decisions and it nearly cost the Heat was re-inserting Wade with about 3 minutes to go. They're sailing along and the Coach puts Wade back in and they instantly fall apart.

That may be one of the key problems for the Heat: Lebron v. Wade. It doesn't seem to work at times, especially when Wade has not been that good in the playoffs, kind of like Ginobli. They each both had one good game but haven't been that great otherwise.

Your heart is very green, one does notice...^&grin. But I really love Ray Allen, Celtic or no Celtic, period.
The Heat had a very close one, but to me LeBron had a great 4th quarter, mistakes or no mistakes. And he ended up being clutch, together with Judas, err... Allen.
That said I feel that the Spurs have been the better playing team in this series, but somehow the Heat have been managing to grind out the necessary results. Loved their defence on Green, 3's dipping fast...
I would love game 7 to be like game 6, I'll probably watch live from 2 AM (here in Portugal) onwards{eek3}. No problem, I'll only have to wake up next at 6 AM...^&grin.
