N.f.l. 2010 season (1 Viewer)

that's just wrong :D:D

That's ok, all Jets fans have are memories of a Super Bowl they won that was played in another Century and trying to convince themselves the Patriots are a better franchise than they are because we cheated........

Priceless............;)

If the Jets cannot run the ball and cannot win the turnover battle, that means outcome of the game is in the hands of Sanchez.

Thus, you are screwed.

Is it Sunday yet?

This whole thread is just hilarious!! :D:p

Maybe Ryan will come on and do a press conference wearing an oversized hoodie. :D

I think the odds right now are +10 Patriots.

Rex is at it again!

Mike Francesa, the afternoon host on WFAN here in NY, who loathes him (Giants fan :p), today even called him, admiringly, one of the master manipulators of the media in sport today!

C'mon guys, isn't this more fun than discussing whether K & C or First Legion is the best or whether that darn Staffcar flew to the moon.

You gotta have fun and that's what Rex is doing, compared to these coaches who never smile (and I just don't mean Belichick). Look at Mike McCarthy or Andy Reid. Even my wife says he never smiles and she barely watches sports.

Love him or hate him, he keeps you entertained!

The line is 8.5, which is fair. I thought it would have been 10 but I'm no betting man.

Sports is the toybox of life, so you are right, it is a lot of fun.

Regardless of what happens on Sunday, life goes on, the game is a three hour diversion from life.....................

Couldn't agree more. Certainly have to wonder, if sports news was this popular in the mid 80's in Buddy wouldn't have been the same. :D

That's what all about, isn't it, particularly with the news we've had in the last couple of days. I don't know about other parts of the country, but the Jets and Eagles games both drew a 22 share in the metro NY area and Francesa made the point that for a few hours, people could forget about the real things that matter.

With those numbers you wonder why the NFL would lock out the players this year.

Getting back to the game for a second, there's a method to Rex's madness. He's basically taking it on himself: if we lose, it's my fault, not the players' fault. The game he had to have was this past Saturday: Colts were banged up and if he didn't win that game, there could have been some consequences. As long as the Jets don't get blown out again, they can live with the result.

I know I like to jab George but in two years, the Jets have won three playoff games and he and his staff have brought along Sanchez. Maybe that's no small feat for the Pats where they're the only game in town and they have one of the top QBs ever to play, but here it's a heck of an accomplishment, where the history of this team has been underperformance. So, win or lose, this team is making strides. Behind his zaniness, there's a purpose.

I think Sanchez is a stud and has taken the NFL by the horns and played well beyond his capabilities. I think the Jets had a gangbuster season last year but just don't feel they were as good as they were last season- still a really good team, just not sure they were as good this season- perhaps more people took them seriously in 2010.

Regarding Ryan- I think after awhile, the antics and carrying on start to distract the team. Strange thing is the NFL is chock full-o-egos and when a few players think someone else is getting the spotlight, they get torqued. I think that has/could happen with the Jets.

Forget the game...the fireworks it's causing on this thread is much more entertaining!

Right now I have my money on George...:D

And it's only Monday.............

Heard this award winning comment today on Boston sports talk radio from a Jets fan, we'll call him "Vinnie from Secaucus" ...........caller; "Ryan has the blueprint on how to beat Brady and the Patriots"............host; "Ok, I'll play along; no kidding, when did he come up with that?"..........caller; "Before the rematch in Foxboro"............host; "BEFORE The rematch; you do remember they LOST that game 45-3"..............caller; "Oh yeah, I know, but Rex was saving the blueprint until their next meeting, which is this Sunday"...........host; "click"...................I guess high school was the best ten years of old Vinnies life.............

You would know George. Weren't you his classmate?;)

Plus no self respecting NY sports fan would call a Boston sports show when the best sports radio is here in NY. Oh, it might have been an Eagles fan. Oh, yeah, that makes sense :)

They come here to get a real education; Harvard, BU, BC, MIT and every now and again, we either can get rid of them or New York won't take them back................

I could care less who wins this game, but I must say, in the first drive for either team, the officiating has been abysmal. First, on the third and 7 pass to the tight end Heap, the Steeler's safety arrived early, and played through Heap for the ball. That is the text book definition of pass interference, but no call, killing the drive.

Next, Ward and Reed tangle after a play is over. Both guys should have been flagged (Reed was hanging on to Ward's face mask) but they call 15 yards only on Ward.

Then, on an 8 yard run on first down to get inside the 5 yard line, a Steeler lineman comes in way late and hits Reed in the back with his helmet. That has got to be a personal foul every time, and this crew of officials misses it.

Those penalties cost the Ravens a score, and handed Pittsburg 7. I hate when the officials have a huge impact on a game, and this looks to be one of those games so far.

This officiating crew is still at it. Taylor head butts Housmanzadah after a play is over in front of god and everyone, no call.

On the next play, a Steeler is flat out pulled down as he is about to hit Flacco, no call.

This is getting ugly.

Would like to see Baltimore win, but it does look like the officials want to ruin the game. I guess we'll just have to see who the officials want to win. Nice run to tie the game. -- Al

Suggs hit Roesthlisburger in the knees, which under the post-Brady injury rules is roughing the passer, no call.

The ref's did get the call right on the fumble, although no Steeler and only one Raven (93, Corey Redding) was smart enough to keep playing, pick up the ball, and score.

Oh, and by the way, the Steelers are out of challenges because they had to use one on the opening kick off because the refs blew the call when the return man's elbow hit the ground. If the refs blow another big call, the Steelers are hosed.

Agreed. This 1st quarter has had a whole game of crap already. Steelers out of challenges with only 1 quarter gone. You have to be careful with those things and using one on the first play of the game is dumb. -- Al

Flacco looks scared bad in the 3rd Q. A major choke job going on.

Is true. The Ravens must have traded uniforms with the cheerleaders at halftime.:mad: -- Al

Terrible call on that "holding" penalty. Should have been a Ravens TD on the punt return.
