N.F.L. 24-25 Season (1 Viewer)

I love the way the NFL desperately tries to stay relevant this time of year.

They are now promoting the signings of second string lineman as headline news.

Sorry, no one cares, the sports world is busy betting on college basketball, even if we have no idea where most of the schools we are betting on are located.

Time for the annual crapshoot that is the NFL draft.

As I say every year I appreciate the analysis from the experts but before we buy into their guessing game we should all revisit their takes on the past few drafts.

Mel Kiper is the biggest fraud in sports. Every year he offers his draft “predictions”.

Yet he is consistently wrong and no one calls him on it.

During this years draft he said:

The NFL has been clueless for 50 years when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks. No idea when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks.

Time again and again he has been proven wrong.

In 2000 he had Brady as the 10th best QB prospect and he ranked Mahomes as the 34th best prospect in the 2017 draft.

The Ravens released Justin Tucker.

ESPN/NFL Network is trying to tie the release to his recent massage therapist sexual assault allegations.

In 2024 he only made 73% of his field goals, including some game tying and winning misses.

Trust me if he was the same kicker he was 4 Years ago they would not have released him.

Yahoos around here who think the Patriots are going to win 9/10/11 games; whatever they are smoking, I want some.

They were a 4 win team each of the past two seasons, last year really a 3 win team, more like 5-12/6-11.

Imagine they are favored in 11 games this year; they were favored in exactly zero games last year.

I know the feeling.

Locals in Nor Cal have the Niners winning the Super Bowl after a 6-11 season.

I like cheering for my local team favorite as much as the next guy but let’s be realistic.

With the Tatum injury/out 2025/26 and them dismantling the team to get under the tax apron, the RS forever 500, the Patriots and Bruins in rebuild mold, it's loserville around here for a long time.

There is no guarantee I will ever see another championship in my lifetime, that's the nature of sports.

Of all the Bay Area teams I feel like the Giants are the farthest away from wining another championship.

And as crazy as it seems I feel like the worst team, the Sharks, are probably the closest.

No idea what the Steelers are doing at QB.

They seem to be set at every position except where it matters most.

Proof that offensive lineman do not get enough press:

David Andrews just announced his retirement.

He was an undrafted center from Georgia who won 2 Super Bowls with NE while serving as team captain for 8 years.

Barely a blip on the sports radar here in Boston; the media has been talking non stop for four days straight about how Diggs handed out a pink powered substance on a boat he was partying on Memorial Day weekend instead.

$26 mil guaranteed just doesn’t buy the peace of mind it used to.

Did the Steelers win or lose in this trade? Got Jalen Ramsey, gave up Minka Fitzpatrick. Also got a ..........tight end in Jonnu Smith who is really hit or miss. Is Ramsey still that good?

I don't know this will be an interesting season.

I am not sure why the Justin Ticker story has been pushed to the back page?
Call me a cynic, but these allegations are over a decade old, no lawsuit, no charges, nothing ever and NO there were not any NDA agreements in anyway (If there were, they would have had to break them and there is zero mention of any). And second call me a cynic, were the Ravens involved in this leak? Ironic that once he went from a 88% kicker to a 79% kicker in a contract year, the Ravens make a "football" decision and the league suspends him for 10 games.

Asking for a friend, how do you get suspended 10 games for unsubstantiated allegations. IMO , this was a "hit" job and they did him dirty. He can't win or recover from this situation, basically a retirement sentence.

If this is what I suspect it is, I would like to see him stay quiet and practice all year long til week 11, sign with the Bengals and beat the Ravens. That would be poetic justice.

I liked Ramsey when he played with the Rams but he was losing a step even then and he has not gotten any younger. The Rams were considering taking him back but his salary was hefty. I'm glad they passed. The Steelers must be in win now mode getting these older guys. Ramsey can make plays but he also gets lazy and gets torched.
