I just secured via a purchase from Treefrog Treasures Consignment sales a John Gittins or JG Miniatures set JGS28-C "Large Natural Pond" and I placed it on my "Age of Napoleon" diorama. I placed the pond on the right side of the diorama where I had placed an French Artillery unit to the right of Napoleon's HQ Tent. I then placed the Artillery sets in front of the main road that #26 Infantrymen are marching on in columns of two. Please see five photos of my revised French Army diorama during the napoleonic Wars.

Very nice Gary!
I have been looking at that JG item for a while.

I got one of JG's medium grass mats, but my (AWI) figures don't like to stand up to well, expecially the flag bearers.
Any problem with that JG base?

Hi Gary. I remember this diorama, the pond really adds to it. It's good to see troops on the march. I'll be back up that way end of month, hope to see you.

Hello Larry:

I remember seeing the JG Miniatures "Large Pond" when it was at $70.00 at Treefrog's Consignment sale area. When it went down to $50.00 I looked around for a place for it, but did not really find a place for it right away. Then when I thought of moving out the French Army artillery sets to the front of this diorama I realized I had a place for it on my main Napoleonic War period diorama. I do not have any figures placed on the area around the pond's outer base area, but it would seem flat enough to handle it perhaps. In any case, there is always the use of a bit of tackey wax to cure such problems. Treefrog sells such jars for about $2.00 for a one or two ounce jar amongst other places such as Hallmark stores, etc. Thanks for your posting!

Hello John:

Thanks for your comments! I should be around the last week of September, let me know your schedule and perhaps we can have another visit at my place and I can show you my new items and other changes.

This is a great addition to an already excellent dio! Thanks for sharing and the idea!

Thanks very much for your comments. Yes, sometimes it is nice to revise a diorama that you previously thought was completed.

I like the 3rd photo especially well. You can't get many national leaders into a FEBA diorama with troops marching past

A lot of good action in this dio Gary. Especially like the marching column. Chris

Thanks a lot for your comments. I was lucky over time to get all of the the #24 French Army marching infantrymen with muskets at "only" $21.00 each. The last batch of these I got the end of 2010 just before the price increase to $32.00! Good timing, what!
