Natal Carbineers New Release! (2 Viewers)

Those Natal Carbineers are a beautiful Cavalry release, very well sculpted and animated. Congratulations Brian!
What's your room number in Chicago? I am going to stop by and have a serious look at your latest figures.
Konrad

I believe somewhere on the fifth floor.

Don usually firms the rooms up as we get real close to the show. Just look for the master list that is availabe all over the two show floors. We'll have all of our holiday releases such as the Carbineers here available to show there.

regards,

Brian

I haven't bought anything from CS but I'm sure they will do some range I collect eventually.

Brian I was not convinced by your first releases for the AZW, but boy now you are cooking.
Those guys are , and I rarely say things like this, must haves.
I am sure when the Lt wakes up this morning you will be hearing from him.
Well done.
Bring it on.
Durnford next

I needed to see what Damian was referring to.....

ie: The Zulu War series by The Collectors Showcase Inc.

Hi Brian,

I just wish I could be there too. Maybe next year. :(

There is nothing like seeing the figures in person.

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Hi Raymond,

I am lucky to be so close to the show, no more than 20 mintues by car, I do not need to worry about paying for hotels or airfare, more for Toy Soldiers.:D

Brian

Hello Guys!
Just got on tonight, and must agree with the Lt. on the uniform correctness, and the general quality of display! Minor things like white front lacing and incorrect timeline of battle shouldn't get in the way.
The horse poses are overdue and needed for my skirmishes as well!

NATAL CARBINEER AT ISLAWANDA

The Carbineers were part of Col. Durnfords cavalry command sent from Rorkes Drift up to join Lord Chelmsford at Islawanda. During the first phase of the Zulu attack Durnford moved forward to screen elements of the 24th that were still assembling. It was during these opening moments of the battle that Durnfords hapless command was overwhelmed by the Zulu onslaught.

QUOTE]

The NC were detached with 57 men and 3 Officers to Chelmsford's Column and most were at Isandlwana on vidette duties. They weren't part of Durnford's Second column. 23 died that day.
Durnford and command made it back close to the nek, not at the opening of the battle. This was after ammunition was expended and troops brought back in to the line, leaving Pope's company exposed on the right.

Sounds good for you, Brian.

Now If that is not luck, I do not know what it.

Do enjoy the show.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

I have not seen Isandhlwana/Isandlwana spelt as Islawanda.

Have I missed something?

Raymond.

No disrespect to the 24 th Foot and the various Zulu regiments, but I am glad that we have a slightly different take on the battle. We need some of those colonial regiments and these look great. I can imagine them in a Fugitive's trail type diorama.
Well done Brian.

A next logical step! AZW Brit. Cavalry! Congrats to Brain, you do things very very right!!

Here are a couple of pictures of the Natal Carbineers at the OTSN. I order all four of them and the other Zulu sets as well. They are great looking figures and according to Brian more Zulu sets are to follow.
