Natal Carbineers New Release! (1 Viewer)

LT , It appears the C/showcase figures, at least the mounted troops fit well with the Britain's. I was under the impression they were quite large but your image has changed my mind.
I'll rethink the mounted figures and get a couple.
OOOH, Mtd Napoleonic's too.

The Cuirassiers fit fine to me but the British foot are a bit chunky, although shorter. I have no Lancers but they appeared to be larger when I saw them at a show.

Yes LT, I bought x2 of them, The bugler and firing carbine. They fit right in with the Britain's. The Cuirassier fit right in with my other Cavalry too.
Wondering now about the CS foot figures which up to now I had avoided due to size.
Great pix LT.

CS started out a couple of years ago making 60mm but switched to 54mm to match with Britains and Conte.

Mark and FUbaR the Zulu War figures by WBritain are 1/32 56mm vs the old Conte figures which are 1/32 54mm. The figures of the Mounted Carbineer's are 60mm if not very close to it and I'm sure you'll fine the dismounted Zulus and 24th foot are allso 60mm. There is a noticeable difference in scale sizes but dosen't appear so with the mounted figures but do with the dismounted figures.

Just a question for Brian. The original release pictures show the Carbineer falling from his horse with a spear stuck in his chest but Joe & Brian's figures do not have the spear. Did you decide not to use a spear for the final production?

Scott and Brian hope you don't mind me answering this for Brian. The spear comes with the set which can be fitted into a small opening showing that the Carbineers been speared.

Better late than never Scott your welcome. Here's a little playtime and maybe will get a hint of what's next from Collectors Show Case.

For those of you who've added the Carbineers to your collection you'll find that the newly released Conte Zulus as well as Conte's earlier releases fit very well with the Carbineers an will create a nice vintage mini or larger scale diorama or shelve placing.....The Lt.

It's nice to see that figures from different manufacturers fit so well together. Great photos as usual Joe.

Thanks Jeff I wish that the figures had been 1/32nd 54mm or 56mm instead of 1/30th 60mm both mounted an unmounted an a liitle more attention pay to the uniforms of Royal Artillery Officer an Rankers and the Foreign Service Helmet of the 24th Foot and the shade of blue used for the Carbineers. The Zulus as well as the Brit foot figures are over powering size wise. It also would have been nice if the mounted figures came unattached from the saddles allowing you to swap figures from mount to mount. It's seems that The Showcases Zulu War Series has been put on hold on gone my the way side.....Joe
