Hurricanes will be hard to come by now. I am more than happy with the Spit
Mitch

Sounds excellent doesn't it Mitch, I just know the beeb will do the victory and our heroes justice.

Congrats on your Spitfire mate, what a model and what an aircraft, even Galland wanted a few! . They say in the Luftwaffe the most frightening word was Spitfire! . Having that superb piece of machinery coming at you I can understand if they were bricking it!

You must get the Hurricane now Mitch, then you have the Battle winning pair:cool:

On this day 70 yrs ago we lost fifteen aircraft and ten crew while the Nazi's lost thirty two aircraft and a whopping forty six crew, nice one the boys of the RAF:cool:

You know it makes sense Jeff.

After all, with that lovely green and brown paint job, it's right up your street. ;)

For those of you who are unaware of it may I recommend "The Battle of Britain then and Now MkV" edited by Winston Ramsey and published by After the Battle. Fantastic book packed with photographs and detailing every plane shot down, both British and German, on every day. Each day is dealt with individually listing the raids and their targets showing photos of the casualties and the localities with companion views showing the same areas today. In addition twenty of the most famous fighter aerodromes have been explored and had companion photos taken alongside the contemporary ones. Finaly there is a complete listing of "The Few". Meticulous research and well worth reading.

Has any one else seen the huge new Battle of Britain memorial building planned for the RAF museum in Hendon ? It's going to be taller than St Pauls and in a spiral type shape it will contain B.o.B fighters at the top and have a great view over London, they say it will come in at around the hundred mill mark.

Rob...

Agree have seen the graphic designs for what it will look like and think its well worth the money. Something like this should have been done instead of the Dome or that stupid wheel. Much more appropriate and not a waste of money.
