Some great teams and match ups this year. The Spurs may go down in the first round. Lakers struggling. Celts moving on. The Celts, Bulls, and Heat combo in the East should be a war. Oklahoma City may be the dark horse in the West.

Lakers are starting to scare me, gosh do they look awful at times, unfortunately, I am worried.

they seem like they just can't get motivated until it's crunch time...then they rise to the occassion...last night they played to their potential...but...they scare me too...they do this every year...lazy...lazy...lazy...

Now it gets interesting. Lots of bad blood with LA and Dallas. That should be a tough series. My prediction is Lakers in six. The Celts are off to a terrible start with Miami, but they have toughness and playoff experience. They won't go down easy - particularly in Boston. Miami also tends to choke up in close games. Going with Miami in seven. Memphis knocking out the #1 team in the west and up 1-0 on OK City. The Lakers could get a #8 team in the Western Conference finals! Phil Jackson must be one of the luckiest coaches in sports history. I would like to see another LA-Boston series but I don't see it happening in the East with Chicago and Miami. The Lakers also have a tough road with Dallas and then a young, quick team like Memphis or OK City.

The Lakers and Celts are looking tired, flat and god awful. Maybe a changing of the guard with OK City, Memphis and others playing so well. But's it's not over till it's over. GO LAKERS!

When it's all said and done, the trading of Perkins will go down as one of the dumbest trades in professional sports history; word is the Celtics felt Perkins with a bad knee was not worth the money he would be asking as a free agent, so they cut their losses and got something for him, which has turned out to be nothing, Green is just God awful.

They traded away a legit shot at another title.

Too many players on the wrong side of 30, as a Celtics fan, I've been down this road before with Parrish, Bird and McHale and it took the team 20 years to recover............

I fully expect the Celts to rebound tonight...home court is huge and they will tie the series up...

the Lakers...that's another story...:redface2:

Yes, I expect Boston to win tonight. Miami is a choke team if you can keep it close. The only question is does Boston have the energy to play a seven game series. With LA anything is possible. They might win the next four or go out 0-4. Dallas schooled them in LA. Hopefully they are smarting. I think the Lakers win tonight and then anything goes in game 4.

In a way...I'm kind of glad Artest is out...I'm hoping it will spark the realization of urgency through crisis...it may motivate the rest of the team to step up...

Well, the Lakers went down like the Hindenburg. Watch out for the Mavs. If they can play like this, no one will beat them. My only interest now is watching Miami choke.

Bye Phil, see you in Miami next year.

Bet the house on it.

Just about the most classless exit I've ever seen by a team, cheap shots everywhere, they quit on Phil for sure..............

I think Phil is done. He has serious health issues. The scary part about this series is that the Lakers could have won two of the first three games. They got blasted by record breaking three point shooting. I've never seen anything like that in 30 years of basketball. Dallas broke a record for most three point shots made in a four game series. Those guys could not have shot any higher percentage in warmups with no one guarding them. They are going to win the west for sure.

Odoms and Bynum pulled some cheap shots...

especially Bynum...

frustrated to the point of stupidity...

it's a black mark on the franchise for sure...

very classless...

they certainly gave Phil a reason not to return...

at 7 foot tall...he's too big and strong to lose his temper...

hope they fine him unmercifully...

Have to give Phil credit, if he is done, he went out with a lot of class, the first thing he said at the press conference was how upset he was with the way his players acted, specifically the fouls.

He had a couple of great one liners too.

If Miami does not win it all this year, he'd be the perfect guy to get it done there.

If it had been Miami vs the Lakers in the finals, I'd have been pulling for LA, the Heat are a bunch of thugs, specifically Wade, who dragged down Allen and Rondo with intent to injure and after the game said "That's basketball"..........really, it looked more to me like pro wrestling.........

Pat Riley is calling the shots in Miami. I don't see him bringing in Phil Jackson to share the spotlight. A massive ego clash. Riley also saw what happened to Laker GM Jerry West when Phil took over. West was sent packing. The pressure on Miami to win it all, though, is enormous. If they don't do it this year or next, Riley's influence may diminish. Latest rumor is that the Magic may trade Dwight Howard to LA for Bynum. Apparently Howard is near the end of his contract and they want to unload him before he becomes a free agent.

They can have Gasol...Fisher and Artest for Howard...not Bynum...^&grin

Bye bye Celtics, down 3-1 to the Heat, they are toast.

At least they lost to a classy team....{sm2}

The window has officially closed on the "big three", one title and two trips to the finals in four years, not bad.

Blow it up and let the rebuilding begin.

The Celts played hard, but you could see in their eyes they didn't expect to win. Garnett was awful. If he gives them anything, they win. That trade is looking worse and worse. Like the Lakers they are too old and worn out. Miami gave them a ton of opportunities to win it. Hopefully Chicago or Dallas can knock them off.

Imagine a Heat/Mavericks final; pick your poison as it's either the thugs winning one or that nitwit Mavericks owner hoisting the hardware, the thought of either scenario makes me want to yak.

And you are correct; that trade was horrible the day they made it and gets worse by the day. Green has done nothing, less than nothing actually and Rondo has pouted since he lost his best friend on the team.

Imagine Ainge pinning his hopes on a 200 year old Shaq being the starting center.

Talk about a moronic, idiotic trade, all because Ainge thought Perkins was done with a bumb knee and issues with the other leg.............stupid, stupid, stupid.

I give him all the credit for putting this team together, trading for Allen and Garnett, but all the blame in essentially blowing up a team that was in first place in the East at the time.

Now they are stuck next year with an old trio of Garnett, Allen and Pierce and no center as Shaq will probably retire..................

With the possible exception of Dan Snyder, Mark Cuban is the most annoying owner in all sports. On the upside, though, he is living proof that you don't have to be particularly bright to make a lot of money.
