NCAA Football 2024 (3 Viewers)

This is an exercise in stupidity to post. Bottom line a win is a win. Hate Manning all you want, the kid is doing and is gonna do alright. I said from the beginning I did not think they were a #1 team. That said if they keep winning they have a good as shot as anyone. And George for the heartache it obviously causes you I hope Manning ends up in the NFC, would hate for you to stroke out over it. Admittedly have never been a strong OU fan, but in the game, Texas held them at bay beat them handedly, stats dont lie. I know it kills every OU fan out there but until you dump Venables dont expect a different outcome. Guy is a dud period.
Somehow with all the carpet bombing the past two days I missed this post.

I could give a fudgeing rats a where Manning ends up, AFC, NFC, Steelers, Broncos, Jets, Dolphins, wherever he lands, I'll have less than zero fudges to give about it, so no worries, I won't "stroke out" over it.

Good for you to think he's "gonna do alright"...............yeah, I'm sure he'll have a long and storied career in the NFL, the world needs ditch diggers too.

And the Sooners losing to Texas or any other team does not "kill me"..............Jesus Christ though.

I've said it a million times, I'll say it again and type slower; as a kid, I saw one of their games and thought the wishbone was the coolest thing ever, plus I liked their name and their uniforms and their fight song, seemed like they played in the Orange Bowl every year, they were entertaining as a kid to watch.

Been a fan ever since, I don't live and die with Sooner football, them losing the Red River Shootout does not impact the quality of my life, it's mindless entertainment, ie, sports, it's not life or death.

Good on the yahoos who live and breathe Longhorn and Sooner football; for the billionth time, I DO NOT, PERIOD, FULL fudgeING STOP.

It fudgeing begins and ends there; I did not attend the school, so them winning or losing does not impact my fudgeing life one fudgeing bit.

Are we fudgeing clear now, I mean Mother of God already.

Christ almighty, talk about beating a fudgeing subject to death, I am sorry I said a fudgeing word about it.

Very true on coaches. Although I have low expectations for the character of most college football coaches since it's a win at all costs job, I don't think it is too much to ask a guy getting paid tens of millions not to show up drunk. If he is going to do that and get fired, however, maybe he should seek treatment instead of suing the school claiming his behavior was the product of a disability. That is demeaning to those who have real disabilities and certainly not an example to young people regarding how to take responsibility for their own actions.

Don't disagree really at all. I guess he got a second chance, but in no means do I believe him to be a Saint.

There are a lot of duds out there, I happened to see a few post game conferences last night on SC from the season. Holy Crap. I have to say, I saw a lot of these games and I wonder sometimes if these coaches are in the same reality as everyone else or if they are just plain liars. More you see of a lot of them, you wonder what real type of person they are. I find that to be shameful given the reverence to many coaches of old. Begs the question, has society just gone that far?

Another one you like - Lane Kiffin - I mean some of his comments and commentary will generate a laugh, but honestly, he is a pompous jerk to the nth degree. I used to think he was misunderstood and immature, negative on that. Dumbo Sweeney - he is a first class crybaby and a jerk to boot. Venables - I am becoming convince based on his post game drivel that he is delusional or maybe just not that intelligent. Brian Kelly - no further comment needed, ugh. James Franklin - I consider him a smart guy who got paid a lot for mediocrity. Riley at USC - I really don't know what to think of him, but I give him credit, he doesn't cause unnecessary headlines for the most part. Sark - many earlier comments, he is not a Saint by any means. Guy at Alabama - I refuse to even type his name, I think he is a true phony. Hugh Freeze at Auburn - I think he is about as crooked as it gets. Saban - SMART, he got out before NIL, give him a lot of credit for that!!!!!! The list could go on forever. The worst part of this to the average hard working citizens - Some of these people literal morons who make more money than most people will ever see. Makes a lot of sense huh?

So college football coaches for the most part are low character guys doing as Doug said a win at all costs job, you win you stay on, you lose you get fired.

Shocking.

You learn something new everyday.

My favorite is when the vaunted Nick Saban called out players for wanting to transfer (before the transfer portal existed) because they had made a commitment to the schools where they were playing.

This coming from a man who backed out of contracts with Michigan State and LSU.

When he weaseled out of an obligation it was for better opportunities, when players did it they were quitters.

Saban is a master of the narrative!

Longhorns hold on. I thought they played a perfect 3 qtrs. Prevent D is awful, no team should ever use, it is commonly a mistake that lets the other team back in which happened today. That said, some terrible officiating on Texas last true O possession also helped. End of day doesn't matter, Vandy going home a loser, Hook em! And Arch Manning looked pretty darn good today. Maybe they have found their stride, each week seems to be an adventure.

The best game yesterday was Army vs. Air Force.

No NIL and no transfers.

Pure college football played by student athletes.

Rushing only three down linemen is usually a recipe for disaster, QBs have all the time in the world to pick apart the D. Can't understand why so many coaches use the prevent defense.

Flipping back and forth between the World Series and USC game last night. At one point the Dodgers were down 3-0 and USC was looking awful at halftime. A nightmare. Lincoln Riley seemed on his way to join Franklin and Kelly in the unemployment line. USC managed to pull it together and get an ugly win. Rages to riches for LA fans. Nebraska appears to be one of those programs that is snakebit. They haven't beaten a ranked team in years. Something like 29 straight losses. It feels like they expect things to go wrong.

I like to say it can prevent you from winning a game when you are the one running it...................just a terrible idea.

I have never seen a race car driver take their foot of the gas, why football teams do it, I will never know.

Today is Kryptonite Day for Texas. Playing Georgia at home and it seems like "again". They will have to play other worldly, Georgia is near impossible to beat there. They had a 33 game winning streak going into this season and dropped a beater to Alabama. I just don't see Texas with their ups/downs and seemingly slow starts having success. You can overcome slow starts at home and against teams you should beat, but not at Georgia. Sark needs to figure out the slow start, that is how Georgia came into Austion and whupped em. I forsee the same outcome here, just have that feeling. Coming off a bye week, Texas should be healthier, but I think they will start slow and that will be the difference in a big way.

My son went down for the game, sure they will have a good time, but I actually am attending a 60th Anniversary party tonight and am going to try and not check in, no need to be preoccupied and probably miserable! I am not sure who can beat Georgia at home unless it is a fluke or a really good team.

Georgia completes the hat trick for me with the Aggies, Sooners and Bulldogs all winning today...........Sark is now 1-7 with Texas vs top 5 ranked teams.

The Sooners went to Alabama and knocked off the Crimson Tide, the #4 ranked team.

Not too shabby for a coach who's a bum.

Herbstreit during the Texas/Georgia game claimed that even with 3 losses, if Texas beats the Aggies in two weeks, they have a shot of making the playoffs.

So a 3 loss team will get in over numerous 1 and 2 loss teams?

And a yet to be determined 5th unranked conference winner as well?

Someone needs to explain the math to me on that one, not seeing it.

At all.

Congrats, glad he beat Alabama, I guess I really couldn't lose in that game, can't stand either coach, but the guy at Alabama is a complete fraud.

Like I said, Texas cannot win in the State of Georgia, it just doesn't matter, I am just glad I didn't watch the game this time. That would have probably been miserable from what my son told me in person. I have said this til I am blue in the face, Sark and Texas do not have the O line nor the receivers they had the last 3 years. Hopefully they find Arch a full team next year. I think this year is respectable with what they have, if they lose 4 games, about where it lies assuming they lose to A&M.

I still take Sark, he brought Texas back to national prominence fairly quickly, he recruits well. Of course, now the rubber will meet the road, can he sustain it, need a good class for next year.

As for Oklahoma, I still think they would be better off without Venables, wining one game doesn't make you any less of a bum. Although personally, I hope they keep him, his kryptonite is the Longhorns, so winning that game still makes for a bright spot in the season, on that thought, he can stay at OU as long as they will have him, the Longhorns seem to like seeing him every October.

Looks like Ole Miss or Georgia will be the SEC rep this year in the playoffs. Still not sure anyone will beat Ohio State in the end. They look to be on cruise control.

Arch Manning should definitely stay in school.

He is either not that good or needs development.
He will need an education when someone tells him he won't be playing in the NFL. It seems clear that there are a couple of elite teams that are above and beyond everyone else. Ohio St., Georgia, and maybe Indiana. ND is playing some good football but not quite in that group. I'm not sold on Texas A&M.

Manning face by three yesterday, including Peyton's 8th grader; please send that kid to a college I actually like so I can root for him, since Peyton retired, I've grown to like the guy, his personality is leaps and bounds better than Robocop Brady, he's got the personality of a block of wood.

And Mathew McConaughey with that 2 gallon hat on; did he throw that in the dryer as it used to be a 10 gallon hat, or that other NFL legend Colt McCoy, what star power.

Have to give Georgia and their coach credit, what stones going for it on 4th down on their own what 35? Then the onsides kick, ballsy moves if they work.

Texas looked unprepared, how many dumb penalties did the have?

At one point, I truly felt back for Sark with that deer in the headlights/Gomer Pyle thousand yard stare.

It was close for awhile, when the cut it to 4 and forced yet another 3 and out, I thought they had a shot.

Then the floodgates opened.

As far as the Sooners; I thought after the Red River Shootout they were toast and would not make the playoff, if they take care of business and win out, they are in, so anything beyond that is gravy for me, I'm a happy guy today regardless of how things end up, that was an epic win yesterday for the coach and the program.

Me either, took a miracle for them to win yesterday; IF Texas had somehow won yesterday, I'm convinced they beat A & M and get into the playoffs.

I will say in his defense, his receivers let him down several times yesterday, perfect passes that hit receivers in the hands were dropped.

They lost by 25, so I doubt it mattered, but he was not the whole problem yesterday, their defense got gashed by the run and they blew some coverages on the back end of the defense.
