NCAA Football 2024 (2 Viewers)

Texas is getting hosed. 2 drives no calls blatantly pass interference. Not saying it is going to decide the game but awful.

Hook em. Beat 3 teams this year who were in the top 10 at the time. Beating a&m and ou in same season isn't a bad way to end it.

Ohio St. is going to destroy Michigan today. They owe them a whole lot of payback. Ohio St. and Georgia look head and shoulders better than everyone else. The Georgia players were literally head and shoulders bigger than GA Tech. Men against boys. It's a miracle that GA Tech wasn't blown out.

Today is going to be interesting on a lot of fronts. I don't think Michigan has the horsepower this year to play with Ohio St's fundamental football. They, so far, are a true testament to what game plan execution and mistake free football are.

If any of Oklahoma, Miami or Alabama lose, GUARANTEED Texas will weasel their way in with 3 losses.

If they all win, they have zero shot.

Also keep in mind the 5th conference winner gets in too, James Madison I believe and they aren't even ranked in the top 12, which is a whole other issue, don't get me started on that one.

I don't necessarily think they should be in with 3 losses, but their wins certainly speak a lot of volume. My problem with the playoffs as I said before is that especially this year, it is not the 12 best teams. That needs to end and the conference bs needs to go away. Legit, no ACC team deserves to be in that mix, none of them have beaten anyone. Personally, I think the playoffs need to go away, it just doesn't work for a lot of reasons. One, too many weak conferences, two, no rules on scheduling, so you have issues with some teams scheduling cup cakes all year and three - too many weak conferences (again), this is not a participation trophy.

The fifth conference winner getting in, a team that is not even in the top 16, is complete BS.

What this will do is make teams rethink who they play early in the season, Texas manned up and played tOSU right out of the gate and that will hurt them.

We'll see how the playoff goes this year, I still think it ends up being tOSU and Georgia in the championship game, two wagons.

I think they are the 2 best teams right now. Ohio State is just not discouraged by anything. Texas put up what, 200 more yards and lost 14-7. They just do not rattle. All the other teams are noise. IMO, Ole Miss is the only other team right now that is playing at the a level of GA and tOSU. I just don't see much else "elite". OU had trouble with LSU, they had to bail themselves out, Alabama is playing a very weak Auburn, TN stinks, Vanderbilt is not that good. The ACC is awful. Notre Dame is benefitting from playing uh... no one lately. Who else is there? Texas A&M is not that good. Texas is good team when they want to be and honestly, they took the second half and stuffed them. Again, I am just not finding much elite here. Kirby Smart's GA will be ready in the end along with Ohio State. Now , watch, b/c I said that someone will catch some sort of luck, but IMO, they are the 2 that deserve it right now.

One last comment on College FB. Are there any decent announcers left?? I am starting to watch the games on mute with music in the background. Jeez, I thought Political reporting was bad, but the announcers are all homers for not the teams, but ESPN. I mean the ESPN playoffs have become big business!!!!!!

Good lord.

Sean McDonough Is probably the best, non-biased play by play college football announcer going right now.

The whole thing is a mess with how large these conferences are right now. And the conference championship games make it worse. Texas Tech already beat BYU. In the big10 game, a regular undefeated season means nothing, just ask Oregon last year. Coincidentally, I think Oregon this year will be in a better spot to rest up and avoid the bye. The SEC game is meaningless. Unless the committee kept out Alabama if they lost but that would be brutal, imo. I guess the ACC championship game is interesting but UVA already beat Duke and I still think the regular season matters.

Blow it all up. 60 teams, in six divisions of 10. Play everybody and there’s the winner. The out of conference game can be made up of some formula like the NFL. Six winners auto qualify and then two teams come in as wild cards. 8 teams should be it. Ohio state should not have been in the playoff last year. You lose two regular season games, including to your rival in the final regular season game cheapens the whole sport and what made it so great in the first place.

So great to see Lame Kiffin turn his back on his team and have to be escorted to the airport with the fans booing him all the way. I'm sure the LSU players are lining up to play for a standup guy like that. Just ask the fans at USC and TN what a great guy he is. If a guy leaves everyone he ever worked for hating him, he is probably not the person to invest $100 million into for the next decade. Particularly after they just paid Kelly $50 million to leave.

I think he made a very bad decision, but I also think this exposes the nature of the business of college football in a very overt way. No loyalty by anyone anymore and here is a guy who had everything at Ole Miss and was probably in year or years heading towards a National Championship. I feel bad for that school and that team, will be cheering them on in the playoff, they deserve a better ending.

What a floor flushing low life weasel, the DC is the new coach, I hope most of that staff stays too and does not follow him to LSU.

Yup, I am team Ole Miss now, I want them to win it all.

Like you said, he had it all there, but it's never enough for these guys, how does he recruit any kid, all I would think of is "He'll be gone in a year, why should I go to this school"........................

Kudos to Coach Cowher, he NAILED it.

Love that guy.

I still think LSU could use some of the money they spend on coaches on improving their academics.

With that being said if Kiffin wins a championship then all of this will be forgotten.

Even if he doesn’t, no one will care.

After all, he already has 0 championship in his head coaching career.

Playoff rankings are out. Forget the Longhorns for a moment, their loss to Florida is really what is hurting the most. That said, legit 2 teams will make it who will be cannon fodder for Round 1. Next issue - what happens if Indiana gets destroyed by tOSU? What happens if Alabama gets destroyed by Georgia? (or even vice versa)? Is the committee all of a sudden going to say the conference championship games don't mean anything? What happens if Texas Tech loses? Can you believe Duke or VA is actually going to get in? Holy crap, what a crapshow. I can make a myriad of arguments regarding Texas and other teams that deserve to be there more than what will end up there. This system is flawed. Final question, if going purely on records, shouldn't Miami be in Notre Dame's place.....................Miami beat Notre Dame. Seriously, what a farce.

Truthfully, for me Texas screwed up and only played well in the "big" games. The loss to Florida is the death knell. Texas outgained Ohio St. but Ohio St played a calm controlled game, they won. Texas gave Georgia a run to the early 4th, then a myriad of mistakes and great plays by Georgia ruled the day, again a super good team. Texas beat 3 top 10 (at the time) teams in fairly convincing fashion in all 3 games. BUT, they shot themselves in the foot in a literal implosion to Florida, a sub par team with decent talent by 8 pts. Again, I am making the case for Texas, but there are other 3 loss teams that are better than the top 12 and 2 conf champs. Mother of God, Virginia or Duke and Tulane will make the playoff this year, what is wrong with that picture??????????????
