Hi Chris. Well, at least the lacrosse team is doing good. The basketball program is in crisis. Seth Allen has announced his transfer to VaTech, making him the 4th (and most important) player to transfer away from Turgeon since the end of the b-ball season. Things just keep getting better and better for the ol' UMd b-ball program.:rolleyes2: -- AlU of Maryland comes back from being down 5-1 at the half against Cornell to win round one of NCAA Lacrosse Tournament 8-7. They were down 5-4, 6-4 to score the last 4 of 5 goals for the win. GO TERPS! Chris

Sure is. He had been set as the cornerstone of next years team. I don't know what the problem is, what Turgeon is selling, but his players sure aren't buying into it. I wonder how long the AD will go with the mess that seems to be growing. -- AlThat is a big loss. :redface2:

Turgeon has had time, now he needs to produce. Mediocrity can become the norm if UMd lets it. On another UMd Lacrosse story, I see the #1 Women's Lacrosse team won it's opening round game by a 13-5 score over Penn. Didn't realize that the ladies were 20-1. At least someone at UMd knows how to win, even if it's not the B-ball or football programs (even though both have winning records, they are not what one would call 'powerhouses').:rolleyes2: -- AlThe AD made a statement confirming his support of Turgeon. Not done unless there's problems. UM hasn't been to the tournament in 3 yrs. Time enough for Coach T to turn this around. Not sure what the problem is, seems like a smart coach. Good recruiting class coming in, but the transfers are puzzling. Chris
Both of UMd's lacrosse teams are still playing this weekend in the Final 4's. Men's team in Final 4 for the 3rd time in the last 4 years, the women for the 6th straight year. The men play Notre Dame, Saturday at 3:30 on ESPN 2.
Chris, Turgeon has lost another player as Charles Mitchell is now transferring out. That makes 5 players lost since the end of the season. They are adding a 5th year transfer from NC A&T named Richaud Pack, a scoring guard who averaged 17 ppg last year. I am really curious about all these transfers. -- Al
Bummer. UMd losses. Couldn't get past their goalie and too many turnovers. Well, it was a good run. -- Al
I'll be watching. The Terps baseball team lost a close game to Michigan today, 4-3, for the Big 10 crown. They will be going to the NCAA WS. Been a good year for the Terps sports teams. The Lady Terps Lacrosse team plays NC tonight on ESPNU. -- AlAl, UM Terps are in their third championship game in five yrs! Third time is a charm they say. :wink2: Tomorrow at 1pm ESPN2. GO TERPS! Chris
Bummer! Terps lost to Denver. Been a long time since UMd won the Lacrosse title. I think it was '75, and I was still a student there! Maybe next year.:rolleyes2: Still, they did a great job getting to the finals again. -- Al
Yeah, they never got anything going and made a couple of crucial errors that hurt them. I should have graduated in '75 but I got out in '76 (went on the 5 year plan:wink2:^&grin). -- AlIt was '75 Al, yr after I graduated. Third time the bridesmaid. :rolleyes2: Terps were never really in this one. Surprised they looked flat after being in the Finals last yr. Chris
