NCAA LAX Tornament (1 Viewer)

Terps won the semi against Brown, 15-14, in OT. Terps got lucky as they had the game in hand with 9-10 minutes left. They went to sleep offensively and didn't score at all over the last 9 1/2 minutes, allowing Brown to close the 4 goal gap and send the game to OT. Dodged the bullet. Will play UNC Monday for the title. -- Al

UNC up by one with 4minutes to go in 3rd qtr. Chris

MD loses in OT.:redface2: Lost in Nationals last yr. Feel bad for the team. Chris

What a bummer.:( The Terps lacrosse title drought continues. The last time they won the title, if memory serves, was 1975, my senior year. That was a long time ago. UNC must be a happy place today as both their men's and women's lacrosse teams beat UMd in the finals. What a bummer. -- Al

Time for the annual update. UMd advances to the men's final for the third straight yr after beating Denver in the semis. That was sweet as Denver beat them in last yr's championship. Fifth championship game out of last 7 yrs for the Terps. Playing OSU in the final. Interesting final minutes when 2 MD and 1 Den apparent goals were called back for crease violations.

THe UMd women advance to their fifth straight title game. :smile2: I see a trend developing here.

BTW, Towson U, my father and sister's alum, were in the semi final, losing to OSU blowing a 5 goal lead in the 3rd period. Towson? Where'd they come from? ^&cool

Go Terps! Chris

Terp game was a nailbiter. Those 2 crease violations had me pounding my head in agony and in joy. Either way, my head hurts now. Really like to see them beat OSU. -- Al

Congrats to the Terps women's lacrosse team for winning the championship. It was a good game against an opponent that wouldn't give up. -- Al

Terps let BC hang around too long in second half and get more draws than a much better MD team. Silly turn over, stepped on end line, led to a BC score and narrow the lead late in the game. Still, can't complain about an undefeated championship season. :smile2:

Like the "protocol" of every scoring player slamming their stick to the ground after a goal. :smile2:

Read that Northwestern won 5 championships in a row and 7 of 8 beginning in 2005. Pete, who'd a thought? ^&grin

MD has the #1 recruiting class. :salute::--Chris

Close, very physical game being played between UMd and OSU for the LAX championship. UMd up 5-2 at the half. -- Al

UMd Terps have won their first LAX championship since 1975, when I was in school there. It was a 9-6 win in a true defensive brawl. A great win! Congratulations Terps! -- Al

Glad they got the monkey off their backs. Solid play, goalie looked good. Congrats to the men's and women's teams. A clean sweep! :smile2:
They also had a title in '73, I didn't see it. :rolleyes2: Chris

It's that time of yr again. MD Terps beat Cornell in the quarter finals and face Duke in the Semis. For gosh sake PLEASE those blue pukes! Terps are the defending champs.

Have not caught up on the lady Terps. GO TERPS . Chris

Haven't had time to follow UMd LAX this season, other then results in the paper, but glad to see they are making the run towards title defense. Go Terps! -- Al

Al, the women's game is on the 25th. Don't know when the men's game is scheduled yet. Chris

Guys, the 2 men's semis are on Saturday on ESPN2, with Albany/Yale going off at noon, and Maryland/Duke at 2:30. Both games should be outstanding. And looks like they'll be playing wet again for the semis. But what else is new for this season. I have never seen a combo winter/spring like this couplet. It just about ruined my youth team season. It's done for me but this last college weekend should be a rouser. I really like all four teams, but will root for the Terps. It's my connection to the Bernhardts. Coached and played Men's League LAX with their father Jimmy on LI. Also played Men's league against Rotanz's father. So, GOOOOOOOOOOOO Terps.......................................................Joe

UMd never in it against Duke. Duke got up 6-0 in the 2nd quarter before the Terps could even score. Just outplayed all day and lost 13-8. Disappointing. -- Al
