New "Bulge" armored Jeep (7 Viewers)

Hi Guys, Many thanks for the kind and appreciative comments about this month’s “DISPATCHES”… Re the question about a “summer” version of the armoured jeep… YES! That was always part of the plan and it will be released in first half of 2012. There will be a different driver as well PLUS… a “summer” trailer with a different load of removable supplies (no cover). Andy C.

Thank you for the prompt response Andy. Looks as though I will have to wait till 2012. But it will be worth it.

That's the problem with this wonderful hobby: when I saw the armored jeep I just knew I would buy it. Now I know there will be a summer version of it and I just got the same feeling...but can't ask my pocket how it's feeling...

Like the jeep alot, but cannot help thinking th new figure BBA52 scout was nmade to go inside the jeep, he has no base and if just got out why take 2 50cal ammo boxes with you?

Andy You've made my day!

I have already ordered the white.

This does look to be an excellent set and a nice variation of the Jeep.

Up-armored jeeps were field modifications performed by several units such as the 82nd airborne, 9th inf div. and others. They were used during the BoB, winter 1944, because tanks were to big to move through the dense forrests of the Ardennes. There is still a real one to be seen in the museum of La Gleize.
I attach a few more pictures

Thanks Guy .

Indeed the new K&C armor jeep is very nice; But it looks like there is no gunner, just the jeep & driver.
Is K&C planning to release the gunner after as an add-on ? IMO it's needing the gunner to be a complete set.

I wonder if the free standing new BOB figure will fit in the jeep?? as that could be used as an add on set for this release

I hope there are some figure that can be used with it.
I'm planning to get the summer version set though.

That armoured jeep is an interesting and unusual piece. The chains on the wheels are a neat added touch. Another fine example of K&C going outside the box. What other company offers such unique pieces for diehard collectors of the Battle of the Bulge? Bravo. ^&cool

Yes indeed. Do any of the other major companies even make Bulge figures and vehicles, Britains for instance??

I suppose all winter troops and AFV's could be used for bulge or any winter battles across the board Hurtgen, Aachen for the US releases and anything from Hungary to Kharkov for the german releases . Its only the title, I suppose, BOB that is unique to K&C could every manufacturers winter stock be used as specific bulge??

I see what you are saying Mitch but for me this is one of K&C's great strengths, they have dedicated ranges for a specific battle or theatre rather than saying ' oh yes these can be Bulge if you want them to be'. No other company can offer us such variety of choice on dedicated ranges and on such a regular reliable basis. It makes collecting K&C ranges very addictive, you know there will be more down the line.
