Don't think ebay would let you get away with that for long :wink2:I am very tempted to offer a little discount if buyers are willing to pay offline and I can offer to cancel the transaction so it looks like we just agreed not to continue.
I just received my notice from FeeBay . . .er, I mean eBay, this morning announcing their new policy. I was going to start a thread about this but I see one has alraedy been started. I have been an eBay member for more than 10 years and now, amongst other increases over the past, this! There will no longer be any listing fees but the final value fee will be 9% of the fianl bid price + shipping + any other charges involved in the sale. eBay is encouraging sellers to use their pre-paid postage option to generate their psotage labels. I don't use this option because I am more comfortable going to the post office and having them weigh the item and charge accordingly. What if the selelr doesn't have a postal scale at home??? I am also a seller that gives refunds on fees if I accidently overcharged for shipping - no more under this rule. I might just become an eBay buyer only, or start selling on a Buy-It-Now only basis and start padding my price with all of the BS eBay fees. I certainly will think long and hard to offer international sales. Perhaps we will see an increase in the use of the forum's classified section . . .

A lot of my listings end up going to Europe.
If eBay could offer a better shipping price then I might use their option. But, shipping through paypal, they don't offer first class international. So that takes a lot of business away on items under $100.
I use stamps.com for my shipping needs. That is $15 per month but I can ship via first class international which brings in many more bids.
More and more, in every area of life, there are hands reaching in and taking from. Everywhere. I feel like I'm being cannibalized. From the vehicles I use to sell stuff, to the bank I use, to the utility companies, to my credit cards, just every **** thing. It's like death from a thousand cuts.

Never heard it said better.

If you quote the shipping and attach to the ebay listing then it will count as that's what you're collecting.
I suppose one could invoice people directly out of paypal for the total with shipping amount but that is quite a bit of work.
Dear "Gideon":
In other words I might was well get with the new program that will start @ eBay on April 19 and that is that. I wish eBay would stop making yearly or more changes to the way they do business.
