New Fury Tank - First Image! (1 Viewer)

Great photo and a nice model. I did not realize Brad Pitt was that tall!

W/O, Thanks for posting ! I will be getting one myself before end of February. Already have the War Daddy figure.

How I wish all the hatches are opened (or can be opened or closed) - that way I can fill with the tank crews and looks better in my view {sm2}

Yup I too plan to get this - hope it does not retire soon.... {sm4}

K&C has come out with an amazing number of US Tankers lately. Three sets of two figures and counting! Fury must have really fired up interest.

BBA015(SL)(L).jpg

BBA 015(SL) is the benchmark, In my opinion for a fighting tank with all of the accoutrements that come from a crew fighting its way across Europe in 1944. After that one they went back to being rather stale and homogenous. The "Hollywood Shermans" seem to be taking us back in that direction (Oddball's Sherman and Fury)...

Wow - all hatches opened - that was what I was talking about {sm3}

All those sandbags compromised the legendary reliability of the M4 Sherman. Plus the sandbags would not even slow down a kinetic projectile like an 88mm panzer round. The sandbags may slightly mitigate the effects of a shaped charge like a Panzerfaust. The main defensive effect was psychological. The M4 and T-34 shared a common defect; inadequate armor, only their overwhe lming numbers secured victory. The cost in tank crew lives was tremendous.

...and while all of that may be true, that sculpt and paint job of that scale model is in my estimation the best ever produced and sold.

I agree the model is very well done. The figures are also well done and are in scale with the vehicle; which renders a very realistic scene in the photo. I belive this scene is based upon George Patton dressing down the tankers for pileing sandbags on their tanks. Mobility and reliability being impaired by the added weight. The M4's speed and agility partially compensated for its lack of adequate armor. The armor was finally upgraded in the M4A3E8; as was firepower with the 76mm main gun.

My favorite Sherman.
I't nice that Fury and Oddball's Sherman have added stowage. The tanks were kind of barren in between these releases.

The current releases of D Day figures are far superior to the earlier pieces. The color of the webbing is correct instead of the bileous pea green of prior releases. The poses are far more realistic and the faces much are better! The three sets of tank crew DD280-DD282 are some of the best WW II US figures K&C has done to date. The prices have gone up 33%; but so has the quality!

It would be good if you could show where the extra quality is as to me there just the same standard figures as before ^&confuse

UKSUBS;The facial features are better, the colors are more accurate and the poses are more natural. All these comments are sujective and a matter of taste; but to my eye they seem to be considerably improved. The increased scale of the M4A3E8 Fury improves realism, as the figures are not taller than the hull deck as they were in the past. I posted a photo in General Matt Discusions of an M4A3E8 with TCS figures that show what I mean regarding relative size.
Regards

Can I ask do you have the new figures and if so could you post some photos of them with a old set ? As the general opinion is that Kc figures latest figures are not as good now than the set made years ago . Saying that I still like kc figures and as we speak have kc figures coming in the post there good but not better in my personal opinion

UKSUBS; I don't own any of the old K&C D-day sets as the uniform colors were too far off for my taste. I have posted photos of Waffen SS Panzer officer WS223-2 and the Panzer Kommander sets that I do own and consider them to be well done. I like lifelike poses; not marching or saluting figures. I generally find TCS figures more to my taste because the colors are accurate and the weapons are in scale with the figure. I buy K&C figures when they meet these criteria. Figarti and TG figures are not to my taste but I like their armor. My favorite TCS figures to date are the Patton 4 star General figure and the US and Panzerwaffe reloading sets. I really like the K&C WWI figures. I have FW011 and FW094 Field Marshall Makinson and an Infantry officer that I display with my Marklin artillery pieces. My display space is limited so I only have a few pieces from many different periods; Romans, Vikings, Knights, WW I, WW II and Modern Armor. A 1/32 Viking longship takes a lot of space! 1/32 Castles take a lot of space! I have to start reduceing my areas of interest in military history.
