New Jagdtiger pic! (1 Viewer)

Looks a little like it but the JT green is different, IMO. I dunno. Could be a situation where the photo doesn't give a true color tone. -- Al

Think you could be right about true colour & that why it always good when member post there photos ;)

I wonder how much this baby weighs???. I may have to reinforce my shelves to accommodate it:cool:

"Bulge" collectors will be able to display the Jagdtiger with their German figures. The Jagdtiger was n't employed in the Bulge but a Jagdtiger Abt was deployed (ineffectively) used in the follow up offensive in Alsace - "NORDWIND". The Volksturm figures look good. Alot of German newsreels of the period show the Volksturm training on the panzerfaust but whether many were used in anger is another matter. The figures adds a bit of variety to late war displays whether East or Western Fronts.

Not so sure the paint is accurate; according to the photos...looks very green, almost too green....

I'll guess just under $300 for this new Tiger. As for the new figures, they really do suggest a return to the Fall of Berlin series, which produced some of the best sets.

Now that's more like it:)...for accurate painting...Would buy it if it looked more like this one in the photo

That's only one of about 85 Jagdtigers and this one was not typical of the majority. They were produced late in the war. They were supposed to be yellow, red-brown and olive-green but many had large areas of red primer as the base colour with areas of yellow and green as available. A shortage of olive-green caused some paint to be mixed resulting in a colour described as pea green.

The colour photo is clearly not white balanced and has a green tinge to it.

You gotta like these Panzerfaust figures too, I especially like the guy kneeling and the guy who is carying several of them.

I don’t want to divert from the discussion about the Jagdtiger (yes, as far as I am concerned it is more than a must have) but all of those panzerfaust figures are spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely...the figures look outstanding! It appears that one of the "mystery figures" that were debuted on the Snow Tiger dio in Chicago has found its way into this release.:) (The figure in the background walking w/ rifle and bullet belt slung over his shoulders.) The JT looks MASSIVE! Thanks for the posting the pic Rob!

I am very sorry to contradict your quote but THE JT WAS DEFINITELY EMPLOYED in the Bulge !!!!!!There is a picture of a JT at Maldingen south-west of Saint -Vith belonging to Schwere Panzerjäger Kompanie 614 in the museum of La Gleize !!!!!!!!!

guy:)

Schwere Panzerjäger Kompanie 614 was renamed from the 2nd Kompanie of the 3 Kompanies of Schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung 653. S.Pz.K. 614 was a consolidation of the remaining Elefants from all 3 companies and I do not think it was at the Bulge. It was the 1st and 3rd Kompanies of Schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung 653 which were re-equipped with Jagdtigers. However, the meaning of "deployed" is subject to interpretation. Because of a temporary halt in the production of Jagdtigers and the shortage of rail transport, Schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung 653 had only a few Jagdtigers at the Bulge offensive and the 1st and 3rd Kompanies were not fully operational. The Jagdtigers had no impact on the battle and with the long road distance over narrow roads, and I can't say they even got into combat? But Guy is correct that there were some Jagdtigers at the Battle of the Bulge.

So if one wants to deploy the Jagdtiger in a Bulge scenario, it would be correct and even more so in the Jan - Feb fighting during the Allied advance through the Ardennes after the Bulge when S.Pz.Abt 653 received more Jagdtigers.

I stand corrected! Was it a knocked out vehicle? You don't have a copy of that image by any chance.

Dear graycap
If I remember well it was not a knocked out vehicle but an abandoned one ( lack of gas or technical failure , it is not sure for what reason)

guy:)

I am far more interested in the buildings than the Jagdtiger. I wonder if they're for sale.

I believe those appear to be the new normandy village buildings they are offering/releasing. if so, that one is for sale for $189. Feel free to apply for a 30 year fixed mortgage :)
