new range? WWII? (1 Viewer)

Great idea! It is about time someone did the Italian front. hmm.. Could the two figures on the FL site be from the Italian campaign? The uniforms look slightly earlier though. Maybe from Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily?

Ken

Don't let an early pattern uniform make you think the time frame has to match the first appearance of the uniform. It was not unusual to see 1936/40/41/42/43 pattern field tunics in 1944/45.

Now that is useful infomation, thank you Frank.

This is actually interesting. In order to answer this someone would have to tell me what scale other producer's figures are. Everyeone says "1/30th" or "60mm" but I know for a fact that the figures are quite a bit bigger than this. I also agree that the vehicles are a bit underscaled by some producers. As our figure height and vehicle scale, assuming we do them, would be to the same scale, there is a good liklihood that while our figures might not be compatible, that our vehicles would be compatible with figures and vehicles of another company. The exception being that stylistically they'll be quite different.

Thanks for your reply Matt,i appreciate it.

Speculations, people love that... No wonder we have a world economic crisis today.....:D

Agreed, but speculation on future toy soldiers releases is free, safe and enjoyable. And informative too, thanks to people like Frank. Better than subjective discussions on which company makes better toy soldiers. And half the fun in collecting is anticipating on what you are going to do next for a diorama, display, or just collecting a new battle/era/range.

Agreed 100% my friend, I was just joking a little bit because makes me laughing to see all these anxiety (I include myself) the same anxiety for the K&C every month dispatches. As WWII collector I am also very intriguing with the FL releases, and as you said I will have to anticipating my budged and maybe some materials for my first FL Diorama.

Burma,Singapore,Monte Cassino,Kursk all very good ideas in my view.
Rob

I agree. Wouldn't mind seeing Wingate or Merrill and the boys or early Malaya-Singapore related figures but I do not think it will happen. -- lancer

hmm... if matt does venture into fall of singapore, rest assured i will veto furiously for 1 of the figures to be have my facial likeness. :p

even a local prisoner of war would be fine, as long not on his way to be beheaded.

i agree with your assessment matt.

it's refreshing to read a honest and fair appraisal.

and i'm very gratified that you are taking the scale issue very seriously.

i'm very confident that your this WW2 line will clear any misconceptions and blatant misinformations (whether purposely or unwittingly purported) we had in this hobby all this while.

sincerely.

Matt, this thread has been to quiet lately, will we see any of the WWII germans in any shows or displays anytime soon?? and would it be to much to ask if you all do go into vehicles what do you think would be in your top 10??...Sammy

Well, you'll see the first 12 German figures (GERSTAL001-GERSTAL009) and the first 5 Russian Figures (RUSSTAL001-RUSTAL005) at the London Toy Soldier show on the 27th of June. They will be shipping to customers worldwide a few days later. Also at London in June will be a preview of GERSTAL010 Pioneer Assault Team which is a four figure set.

In terms of seeing them in any displays, well, they're in a display on our homepage and they are displayed in a gallery on our website. Neither of those have been posted here, but you might want to check our website. ;)

In terms of vehicles, we are most certainly going into them and we expect to announce the first one in about a month or so. It will hopefully be available in August. Sorry, no hints at this point. But, in terms of quality, expect anything we do to match the quality of the figures.

Matt

Sammy, I have the privilege to see the figures, so if the vehicles are the same level, I am sure they will be, you will not be disappointed...

Are FORCES OF VALOR and 21st Century Vehicles compatible with FL WWII Firgures??
Thank

That has not been determined as of yet, we'll know more once the figures hit the show circuit, which will be London in the Uk courtesy of TM Terrain and Historicon in the US courtesy of Minutemen Toy Soldiers, ie, me...........

That hasn't been determined yet Nick, let's not have another FUBAR like the one over the Figarti Fuel Truck, wouldn't want your partner throwing me under the bus again, ok?

Like I said before, yes they do. I use them all of the time with FOV and 21st and they jell just right. Gerard from FLF makes his figures so they will fit the above mentioned companies. So, as of my statement, and Gerard making the soldiers to go with the above companies it has been determined that FLF goes well. It has been determined!
