Any possibility that the key to the WW2 German period question could be the helmet and helmet cover? I am not a helmet expert but I seem to recall that helmet construction varied during the war. -- lancer
I must say i am really looking forward to seeing these new figures from FL.The quality looks very good from the small pic i've seen and i would be happy to display these alongside the rest of my collection, and i have not been able to say that very often.
I just hope Matt ventures into British/US figures too.
Rob
Experience with their Napoleonic line indicates that all the significantI too hope FL will produce some US/British figures. If we just get more of the same - Nazi's, then that will be disappointing.
Experience with their Napoleonic line indicates that all the significant
belligerents will be well represented.
I think it is extremely arrogant - to maintain a decent tone - to say that a range doesn't sell without EVEN having seen a single figure in full!
Sorry, but that just makes me laugh! I prefer to read Mr Gambale's wish lists than such a blond comment!
FL's figures are different and appeal to a many of us. And time will tell if something sells or not.
Matt, I am sure that you will bring out figures that are up to the standards you made us used to...
And then.. Happy Collecting.
I am simply repeating what I have been repeatedly told that the Eastern Front is not a big seller. It seems odd because a lot of people keep asking for it and some of the K and C eastern front Stalingrad stuff from the early days are now sought after classics. I wish FL all the best. Matt brings out really cool looking figures so I am pretty sure the upcoming WWII stuff (if it is Eastern Front) will be really good.
Firstly do have the information on sales figures? and secondly not sure how something can be described as 'not a big seller' before its gone on sale???
FL figures are a different kettle of fish to K&C
You would have to ask K & C about whether or not it's a big seller. However, in their view, it's not and they don't believe the demand is there. The reason the old Stalingrad series brings some money on ebay because the amounts made were not high and the interest in old K & C today is high; supply and demand.
Theres little point discussing old issues and lines we'll just have to wait and see hows FLS do. We all know how fickle the collectable market can be but FL are producing something no one else does and thats real quality figures but unlike aeroart and other Russian figures at not OTT prices
I dont think we really need to speculate on how well they will sell, thats really Matts department. If people want high quality painted realistic figures with excellent poses unlike most produced i think theres little doubt.Lets not forget other wwII figures produced by manufacturers are not great quality in comparison to what i know FL will produce.
I personally will only buy FL now apart from the odd other one here and there as the quality is better than anything else out there as these prices.
I suspect i'm not and wont be the only one,but i'll leave the business side to Matt.
Having been beaten over the head-verbally- that WWII are the most collected TS in the whole wide world-then I must ask is that WWII per se? or do certain theaters of the war not count?
I don't know.
However, what I think I do know is if the quality of these forthcoming figures are anywhere near the quality of Matt's Naps (and I am sure they will be) then I would bet all of my old dud Confederate dollars that any avid WWII collector worth his salt will at least give these figures some very serious consideration-surely? because if I was a khaki/olive drab/field grey collector I most certainly would.

How long will the Pacific and Eastern Front be unprofitable to produce or will it always be unprofitable?
Obviously it’s up for speculation and like many things, time will tell.
Is it possible though, that these themes may be more attractive and profitable if they were extremely well done, done in limited quantities and with a direct sales channel to the collector. Do you think it might work? Oh wait, that sounds like First Legion!

Anybody know what scale these WWII soldiers will be??...Sammy
