2nd ID ISN'T TAKEN NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Hope you guys had a great holiday and are ready for some serious action in 2013. TCS starts ringing in the new year with some great new releases. Check out our 2nd ID moving inland from Bloody Omaha beach. These figures start a whole new push to capture the action and grit of D-Day. We've made sure the reliable 57mm was present in our set composition cause' most folks don't realize just how many of these guns were manufactured and fielded. Take home some good guys and start making Jerry pay!

These sets and many others will be available in Early February. Keep your eyes peeled as we start to roll out this busy catalog.

Tally Hoo!

Brian

Nice dynamic poses on the troops and, the gun looks a nice piece as is the prone MG team. However, what is going on with the rifles of the figures in the pictures. They don't look very good, too long and not what I would expect from todays designs.
Good set of releases but, hope the weapons are changed
Mitch

nice looking sets, glad to see Collectors showcase doing more allies as well...Sammy

These new releases look very good to me, some good action poses in there and I like the MG. One of the rifles looks a tad long and perhaps very slightly bent upwards at the bayonet, apart from that I like them.

Rob

I cannot fathom it myself when most of the sets are very nice but, Having a look at the rest of the pics all the rifles seem to be as poor. Now, as we have both dropped our hands deep into our pockets for many years buying CS and not admiring from far, I would hope that Brian will address this. I have no allied troops since Market Garden which, were superb but, I will order the MG team and gun set.
Mitch

I noticed that too. It is curious. But, the 57mm ATG intrigues me, and the M1919 looks nice. Jürgen

I like the AT gun and crew. I think the position of the riflemen's hands on the M1s are correct (I own 8 M1s) but the hand grips on the bayonets appear to be made of wood in the pics. The bayonets, several manufacturers, I have are of bakelite and black in color. Have seen many more at miitaria shows and the only ones of wood would have been early war version. Maybe this is "rivet counting." Chris

Mitch mate,
I did not notice these rifles until you pointed them out. But the thing that stood out to me was the large overbearing shoulder patches, which seemed to have been put on as an after thought, and hit you straight in the eye when you look at the photos. Apart from that the sets look great.
Cheers Howard

Howard...

well, that's where you Rob, Sammy and I will agree to disagree. The first thing I saw was the poor rifles in sculpt and paint having several hundred CS figures and AFV's they have always tended to have very large markings for troops. some of the Waffen SS troops arm eagles are very large but, as they are detailed and not just splodges of silver or white paint that does not bother me.

If you three members don't feel there is anything wrong with the sculpt of the rifles and the detail on them fine I am not really sure any of you are big or even small CS collectors (but, I enjoy your comments) However, when I make comments about CS its because of how highly I have rated their sets from Day one and, have become disappointed or disillusioned at some of the releases recently.

sorry Mitch hate to inform you but Rob,Howard, myself can leave positive or negative critique as much as the next guy, I don't have to be a collector of a certain brand/range/company to make a choice if I like something or if I don't, just because you find fault in something that's your opinion, I have mine you have yours, end of story...Sammy

Mitch mate,
Woe back there and hold your horses old son.^&grin My last post was not meant to be any criticism of your observation and comment of the sculpting of the rifles. I was simply pointing out that the first thing when looking at these photos that hit me in the eye was the bright shoulder patches and that they looked like an after thought add on.
I ask you to go back to post number one with the photos and look at the following:
The first large photo has on the left hand side a corporal with a Thompson with no shoulder patch.
The second smaller photo on the left has the same corporal with no shoulder patch yet when you go to the last small photo there he is as large as life with a shoulder patch. Computer enhancement at its best.
This should not be taken as criticism of the figures or CS but merely an observation of something that I have said caught my eye. I do not collect CS but I feel like anyboy else on this Forum I have the right to make a "rivet counting"^&grin observation.
Me thinks cobber that you are too quick to go on the defensive when somebody disagrees with your good self.
Now you have a great day. 2013 is the year of positive thinking and TS enjoyment.
Cheers Howard

howard...

No defensiveness at all just merely saying what I found wrong with the sets. Now I don't include you in this but, I have no problem with stating this or that is not right on a AFV or a figure (its what the forum is all about) but, some seem ok to critique some manufacturers whilst defending their own chosen one to an absurd level. Rather do as I say than do equally

I would think some should look in this mirror they always mention to see how they have handled critique on their own preferred manufacturers threads before stating they are allowed to comment on what they like or dislike elsewhere as that then should apply to all.

Finally, as we seem similar to the Chinese zodiac on this forum last year the year of fun this year the year of positivity and peace and love (the phrase the mad ringo star used when meaning anything but!!) if that means wanting to run and hound people off the forum, abuse personally because they find fault with a manufacturers products when they believe they are the best on the market, rip apart people and products in PM whilst praising them on open forum well, we have different definitions of what positivity and peace and love and TS enjoyment are.

I will stick with enjoying the hobby in my own terms saying what I like and don't like without any fear of upsetting anyone (how saying a product is wrong can upset grown men still bewilders me!!) and from the alleged side lines as I am no proponent of the double standard club.

I hope you all have a great 2013
Mitch

Once again Mitch you turn a new release of a product into your personal attacks and rude remarks about forum members, say your piece and move on, you dislike the new sets so be it, but all the other remarks aren't needed, so as Paul song it..."let it be"...Sammy

I think Mitch makes a valid point. However, in spite of the anonymity offered by the www, there are those who would prefer to avoid ridicule by not publicly proclaiming negative opinions. For example: I am a stickler about the German Stahlheim. But, I find very few manufacturers who produce German helmet sculpts that please me, e.g. until the recent Classic German release, King & Country got by on the helmet cover. Whenever they attempted one without a cover, the curves and bevels were poor. First Legion, with all its scale, uniform and weapon accuracy, doesn't sculpt the helmet well (IMO). But, rather than point that out, I let my wallet do the talking. Now, with utmost deference (respect) to all, my opinion has been exposed. I hope no one was offended. :wink2: Jürgen

Jurgen...

I think your right and people will let their wallet do the talking but, on a forum about all things toy soldiers we all should be able to say what we like without being afraid. I agree completely about German helmets and why I sold all of the Stalingrad range of FL as they were for me, poor and, the worst of the manufacturers making germans. The new SS troops look much better and, I have an order in for all of these new troops.

CS for me are a better manufacturer than some of these things we are discussing recently from them.

Sammy,

I think we are all entitled to say whatever we please (as long as we are not insulting anyone) whether we've purchased or not. I have the first Panther CS released which is very nice and also some of their ACW sets which I think are just first class. Furthermore I actually said how much I like the sets( as I've done many times with CS products having seen them up close in London on countless occasions) and merely mentioned one of the rifles was a tad long looking and slightly bent. I don't see a problem here??^&confuse

Gentle Friends,

Some of these posts border on insulting one another. Having differences of opinion is fine. Insulting one another regarding those differences and behavior related to them is not fine. Please keep your comments respectful and all of us will enjoy them more and learn from them.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat
