New release june contest begins!!!! (2 Viewers)

As promised our 2nd Annual monthly contest for free prizes begins now. We have four new product(s) set types to be released in July. The contest winner will name one of the product sets. It could be from any genre that we CURRENTLY manufacture.

Here's the drill, I will provide an opening clue(s) and every so often I will add to those clues so that players may piece togethor the correct answer. The person with the first correct answer is the winner.

There are however a few rules for anyone that would like to play. Firstly one must be registered at he Collectors Showcase prior to winning. Simply fill out the newsletter info dialogue box on our site ( www.thecollectorsshowcase.com ) and your in ( if you've already registered no need to register again ). You may only provide one attempt at an answer in a 24 hour period.

And finally the prize: You may choose ANY one set we have in stock. That's right the prize is of your choosing not ours. It could be an AFV or an infantry/cavalry set. You decide.

The opening clue is:

" Macedonian and Romans used weapons whose evolution.... "

Gentleman: good luck!

regards,

Brian

Here's my shot at the clue:

The common weapon between the Macedonian and Romans was the spear. The most popular strategy in employing this weapon is through a Phalanx or Cohort. In todays modern warfare this type of tactic evolve in the use of a tank attacking in close formation. It can also mean the to ability to produce an equipment to replace losses at the soonest possible time. only one weapon would fit this category...THE SHERMAN TANK! a British Firefly to be specific.

Collector Showcase has dabbled with the German army for quite some time and I think the clamor for a Sherman Firefly is will soon be heeded.

Was the second clue not something about how for the first time whole nations were mobilized for war.
That sounds Napoleonic.
WWII mass mobilization had already been seen ACW, WWI etc
Just guessing here.

Spear, phalanx, total mobilazation sounds Napoleonic. Massed formations, citizen armies, bayonets, lances. Just needs to be focused to the correct nation and branch of service. -- lancer

Phalanxes were massed formations with the density to punch through enemy lines.....
A French column of Line Infantry is my guess.

The clues are meant to provide pieces to the larger answer: the set that is, being issued. For example: Jagdtiger or French Guard Infantry Attacking, something like that. So each clue is but an element of the greater picture. As the clues grow so should a contestants idea of the set, until we have a winner!

All answers must be public not private messages.

The opening clue was:

" Macedonian and Romans used weapons whose evolution.... "

The following clue was:

" It was in this war that for the very first time entire nations were mobilized for war "

Todays additional clue is:

" Contrary to popular myth and legend this unit did indeed fight with carbines and automatic weapons "

Good luck all!

Natal native horse, AZW

The 'automatic' factor could be the automatic extraction of the Webley the officers would carry? The men would carry carbines and spears. And the entire Zulu nation was called upon.
But I'm usually not very good at this sort of thing...

Tomorrow at 12pm Central Time the contest will terminate and a runner up prize will be forthcoming to the player that came closest to the correct answer. At the same time TCS will formally announce the new release on the forum.

Cheers!:)

Brian
