NEW RELEASE PRODUCT RANGE: COLLECTORS BATTLEFIELD!

TCS is pleased to announce our new company: Collectors Battlefield. We’ve taken our great TCS WWII range and scaled them down to 28mm. These great metal 28’s combined with our quick play rules take wargaming to the next level.

Let’s face it who has time to paint armies then tackle a 250 page rulebook? Well we’ve solved both of those problems with our new Collectors Battlefield Wargame System. Figures come pre-painted and rules are easy to learn and fast to set up. And when you’re not playing games with the figures they can double as display pieces for much larger dioramas.

I’ve attached one of our ads below and encourage everyone to take a look at the brand new site. The game system starts shipping at the end of the month. And yes we already have two more historical periods at our factory!

Check out the new site: www.collectorsbattlefield.com

Tally Hooo!

Brian:

I am not a gammer but I think it's going to be a real winner! Maybe even some "crossover" sale opportunities.

Very nice figures but most gamers won't pay almost $9 per figure,maybe the dio guys will.

Rethinking my opinion on the price.I have 28mm's and a standard painted job can go anywhere from $5 to $8.Collectors quality I've paid $20.A lot of gamers paint there own but a lot do not.I hope this venture succeeds very well.The figures look great on the website.As for the other ranges it could be ACW,Rome,Napoleonic,maybe Agincourt.I think it will be ACW and Napoleonic.I don't collect any of these periods but I could see myself getting some Rebs at this scale,especially cavalry.^&grin

With K&C experimenting with plastic/resin figures and now Collectors Showcase starting up 28mm ranges shows how the hobby is evolving to bring back affordability and to attract a wider range of collectors and war gamers. I wonder how the other big manufacturers will be responding to these two new initiatives... {sm2}

Very interested to see where this goes, have reached out to numerous wargamers who are customers of mine and the reaction so far is very positive.

Wargaming is HUGE in this country, conventions attract anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 attendees, this is very positive for the hobby.

I can see non wargamers buying these for the collectability aspect of it. A lot of my customers bought the short lived 28mm Del Prado Napoleonics, I get people looking for these from time to time as well who missed out.

Anything positive for the hobby is a good thing.

I wish more companies would go this way.As I have to buy my figures unpainted once I receive them I have to ship them out,wait 2 to 4 months to get them back.Lot of painting sevices out there but would rather have them come already painted.Unfortunately for me TCS doesn't do FIW.

The detail looks actually good. As a collector. I would be tempted to pick up some of the armor. You could make a decent size diorama without taking up an entire room.

These would fit in with other 28mm wargame ranges such as Warlord Games and their Bolt Action WWII rules aimed at platoon level actions.

Very innovative move. I know a lot of people who will like this who are not interested in war games. what is good is keeping with metal and not going down the plastic road. should attract people who want to collect in depth but, don't either want the large models or have the space

This sure got my attention! I'm not a gamer, but like George said these might appeal to non-gamers. I hope to see samples at the Westcoaster. I'm glad the figures are metal rather than resin, as Mitch noted. It says on the flyer that there are over 100 poses in the first release{eek3}. This could be very interesting and could partially solve the space issues that many of us have if you don't mind working with the smaller scale. I'm really looking forward to examining samples in the flesh. I hope they are well painted. Nice innovation Brian, and good luck with your endeavor! This has the potential to go over very well.

I would be very happy if Brian make the Romans in this scale as well. Finally I could afford a large battle with these smaller size, made in metal figures.

Certainly an interesting development. Might get me back into WW2 because of the space issue, but I want to see a Tiger tank before I make a decision.:wink2: -- Al

Let us know what you think of them after you see them.I see these appealing to as many non wargamers as wargamers.

I was waiting to see how long it would take for the big toy soldier manufacturers to recognize the possibilities of professionally, matte-painted 28mm ranges. I would definitely be interested in collecting a new range in this scale especially an ancient range which I do not have much of in my collection as of yet. Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians... War elephants, chariots, cavalry, fortresses, siege equipment... WOW... I could definitely go for that at reasonable pricing...!!! {sm4}{sm4}

When it comes to scale. I am scale challenged :) are these basically 1/72 scale?
rad
Thanks

I REALLY like this! Existing WW2 vehicles have been too expensive for me, so I've let this whole period go. But now that I can have THREE tanks for the price of one big one, I can see one very awesome diorama ahead of me. Deploying vehicles by troop/squadron is possible now. In fact I hope there's a plan to have them painted in a variety of ways so they don't all look exactly the same?

I'm also intrigued by the idea of wargamming. Except I'm worried that when I turn up, no one will have anything but the Germans!
