NEW RELEASE: WITTMANN 1331 & HANOMAG NORMANDY

Well with the Wittmann Winter Tiger E and DAK Tiger E all but sold out we thought it best to issue the final variant in our latest New Tiger E offerings, along with our Normandy Halftrack variant. Wittmann’s very first Tiger mount was the Tiger E 1331 LSSAH. Wittmann had at least 30 kills during Zitadelle and was well on his way to ace status. Ironically operation Zitadelle was the highpoint of German Panzer strength on the Eastern front. Never again would the Germans field so much armor at any given point.

This release includes our newest Hanomag as well: Our 251 has a whole new set of jumpers and is an encore to our most successful first issue Hanomag. The demand for the set never went away so we just had to bring er’ back. The interior is bustling with loose equipment and the gunner is removable and a static MG42 can be substituted. The rear MG42 is also movable.

Limited Edition: The Wittmann Tiger E quantities are low, total units: 200

Both sets are included in our early February catalog and can be had at any of our fine dealers or our site. Keep those eyes peeled for more releases from this busy catalog.

Tally Hoo!
Brian

Wow! They look awesome! Can't decide which to pick up. Oh what the heck. Who am i kidding. I will end up picking up both! A must have! Brad

I thought there was going to be another tiger coming out. Saw the photo on both new tiger boxes. The tiger looks great but I don't now if I will pick this one up since I have both the new tiger E'S, and have the last release of the 007 tiger witch I love. Great work Brian! Keep them coming!

Quite interesting for me as I never knew Wittmann had a 1331 marked Tiger ! A little history lesson for me today :wink2:

This Tiger tank was assigned to the schewere SS Panzerabteilung 101-Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler in the summer 1943, which Wittmann was assigned to during his tour in Russia.

This hobby certainly loves Michael Wittmann!!! 1331 was his mount but, only for a short period 1943 he then transferred to S21 in late October.

I would have hoped other notables from the unit could have been done like Staudinger, Wendorff or, even the commander at that Time Fritz Kling.

I like German armour but, sometimes lets have some other notable German Tank commanders and crew!!!!

The Hanomag like the first release looks good as do the Jumpers from it.

The collector showcase new release is just like the film Groundhog Day I'm sorry to say. Total number of Tigers tank during the wall 1368 !

That my friend is what airbrushes and decals are for.....{sm3}{sm3}

Not bad, not bad at all, really like the re-released Hanomag!

Nicely done. Highly detailed. Mitch was right regarding different Panzer Commanders (i.e. Ernst Barkmann, Otto Carius, Rudolf von Ribbentrop).
Hope to see sometime in the future.:smile2:

I missed out on the Normandy Hanomag so will certainly be getting this new version when it's released. I already have the 007 Wittman Tiger with crew so won't be getting the new Tiger, but I'm sure it will be popular with those that missed out on 007.

I would also like to see CS release some German leaders other than Wittman. That said I would prefer those involved in the Western Front such as Panzer Meyer etc. Speaking of which, what about a 'Panzer Meyer' Hanomag or similar. I know another company has been there done that, but that limited set is now hard to find at a reasonable price and I'm sure many collectors would like to see a Collectors Showcase version.

These look very good........PLEASE..I am not trying to start a discussion/arguement on scale but I do have a question. Are these CS AFV's the "larger" 1:30th scale version (i.e Closer to 1:28th). And also finally is this now the new scale size for CS AFV's....This will be good news for the K/C 1:28th scale figures, many of which I still own.

Frank...

Is there really anything in scale terms called ''the larger 1/30th''? Its either 1/30th or not. These releases are not 1/30th. Its not a standard move in scale either whatever has been said as several of us have clearly shown some are larger and some are not across the ranges that have been released.

The measurements are there in black and white and, many have said about the Tigers that they are stand alone pieces.

What I am asking Mitch is this the "new standard" (larger size) for CS??....Also can we exspect this size to be consistent for all CS AFV's in the future going forward?....As long as CS is going "larger 1:30th" across the board their AFV's will go well with 1:28th scale figures and at least we know what to exspect when purchasing....And as previously noted K/C WWII figures are indeed 1:28th scale even though they are labeled 1:30th.....i.e Is this New Hanomag "Larger 1:30th".

I heard, from a dealer who asked the new Hanomag is exactly the same size as the old one. Not sure that the Tigers which are all the same 1/28th in scale are the standard as releases since the first tiger have been more in line with 1/30th and some have not.

That's my opinion from seeing them and measuring them etc.

Frank, no argument here, the way I look at it if your happy with a larger or smaller soldier/AFV and it works for you and they fit good together then that's all that matters, I wish that all companies scales work together but that may or may not happen, so I just go with what works for me, as I collect 1:30 First Legion figures but have 1:32 terrain pieces, 1:35 accessories in my dios, works for me, and that is all that matters...Sammy

I prefer supersized 1:30 AFVs as they blend better with my 1:28 figures, but whatever floats your boat as they say.

So, 1/28th AFV's and 1/28th figures. perhaps if we did not use oversized 1/30th as terminology this would help manufacturers see that making something bigger but, calling it a scale its not does not float anyone's boat.

1/30th simply means that and, no obfuscation or semantics can change that. It either is or, it is not. IMO

Agree Mitch... But this does not only apply to CS....It also applies to manufacturers like K/C who label their WWII figures 1:30th but they are indeed 1:28th with 1:30th AFV's.....Personnally I don't care so much what manufacturers choose to call it.......It would however avoid confusion if products are labelled accurately... BUT MOST IMPORTANT...PLEASE "be consistent with scale" for WWII figures and AFV's within their own product line....don't keep changing it....That would be a good start.
