New Releases for April 2018 - The Conquest of America (1 Viewer)

not trying to sound like a crybaby...

but no Aztecs this month?

No Aztecs this month is cool with me. Actually couldn’t be scheduled any better, since I will be visiting two Toy Soldier Shows in May, the MFCA early May and the Texas Show late May.
No new releases in this line for May helps a bit on the Toy Soldier budget :wink2:

I have ordered the latest 2 offerings from John. The collection is growing steadily enough and went for Spartacus from the May offerings. .

Hi Andrew. Commission build. It's a huge temple of which you can only see a small part in the pics.

Best,

Gary

As promised the Aztec buildings photographed in full. I went for a display piece for the Morgan Miniatures figures I was collecting in around 2007/08. I commissioned Small Wonders Model Makers who did a lot of research. We knew we couldn't go for a 1/30 pyramid style temple as it would be too large for any display area. We agreed after some email exchanges to go for a replica temple building discovered in current day Mexico city. It probably housed priests and could possibly have been a place of worship but probably not sacrifice. They built the large temple complex building but there were others effectively making a courtyard. We agreed on some half buildings to go on the sides this gave a space to display figures in front of the main building.

They researched the decoration on the outside. This was updated to Aztec religious symbols. The building pre existed the Aztecs by many 100's of years so they gave it a weathered look. They painted the interior with Aztec art and installed small flickering bulbs that in the dark look like candles inside the temple block.

A resent postal delivery. John's new Aztecs never fail to put a smile on my face when I open that box for the first time. - Lets just say, they make a great first impression.

Yeah, received mine yesterday. I also went with the blue version (AZ-15B).

Now if we just could get some Conquistadores with crossbows and arquebusiers ;)
