New Year collecting resolutions (1 Viewer)

there is a bit of a mob psychology and a "kid being in a candy store" behavior at shows.

And considering how many shows I attend, all I can say is thank God for that type of behavior.........;)

To me, shows are indeed a good measuring stick of the health this hobby or any hobby as a matter of fact.

I track my sales from show to show each year and watch for trends; if a show is dying out and sales are dropping year by year, I may decide to bail out of that show.

I found this year to be by far my best year for shows, ie, the gross sales I took in at all of the shows I attended this past year far exceeded the same number for 2009 and EVERY show I attended in 2010 had a gross sale number higher than the same show in 2009.

To me, that is a good thing.

Give yourself some credit boss. I do agree that there are shows that just don't pan out like others but you are very very highly respected as a dealer. The increased sales are more a credit to your efforts and success as a businessman than anything else, imo..

Thanks Chris, you are too kind, all of the dealers who attend shows work hard for their money, that is for sure.

It's a lot of work but worth it, two more months before my next show, a little down time is a good thing every now and again..............
