Hi there. I just found this forum and have been looking for a specific soldier who is part of a larger set. I am not your typical collector-- I am looking for a soldier who actually resembles my father from WWII. The set is part of the King and Country WWII:German collection.

My question for you is, should I buy the entire set and then just try to sell the rest? It is a retired set ("Gestapo Arrest"). I know that most people don't like split up sets, and being new here, I fear that I would have trouble selling the remainder of the set.

What I am hoping is for some advice. I did put a "want to buy" thread in the classified section. I just discovered the King and Country miniatures a few weeks ago. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I did buy that set but soon found it didn't fit into my collecting theme so I split it up and sold the pieces on eBay. Considering your personal interest in the set I would recommend you buy the set and sell the car with the box and the figures you don't want as individual items.

Thank you for the response. I was thinking the same thing. I've never sold on eBay, and would rather not. Is this the main forum for collectors of these items? The King and Country miniatures are just too cool. I think I could get hooked on this stuff if I'm not careful.

Loveit...

Welcome to the forum. Interesting reason for wanting a set. I think this is probably the best forum for most manufacturers from metal to plastic

Treefrog forum does cover a wide range of toy soldier interests but 1/30 scale members, especially those into King & Country are I think in the majority here. Yes, it's way to easy to get hooked on this and I continue to restrict my collecting focus so I don't end up with to much stuff. Now I only collect K & C Aussie based sets and their Waffen SS in Normandy camo.

I'm looking for the undecorated soldier-- he is holding a rifle, wearing a helmet.

Dear "loveit":
While it is best to keep the whole set for possible later resale so as to get the best price. However, I do see individual figures from multiple figured sets sold separately on eBay. It is your choice. I would recommend eBay as the best market for selling toy soldiers by far. Prior to late 2004 I tried other ways, hobby magazines, etc. I found out that overall eBay is the best way to go relative to selling items. Also, I found out early on that generally King & Country gets the best prices on eBay at least for their retired sets/figures. Good luck!

Thank you, Iron Brigade, and the others who have guided me. This is a great forum. I think I may just buy the set!

If you get that then you should really buy some Americans or British who can rescue the prisoner;):D

Hi there. I just thought I'd post an update. I decided not to buy the whole set but looked and looked for another German soldier to fit my "need." I ended up with a pretty good rifleman, but if anyone does decide to sell the orginal soldier I wanted, please let me know!

THANKS for your help everyone!
