Peter,
The Heid is a past master at the arcane art of multi-tasking. ;);):D:D:eek:

As long as the South African figure is clutching the William Web Ellis Trophy I will buy it.

Hi Pete,

What a great lineup for your "Exclusive Treefrogger Series!" However, you forgot to mention the set that features the contributions of Kilted Vampire and Fishhead. May I assume that the Vamp/Fish set will be a Strictly Limited Edition?

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Always beware of men who can make figures of you...I would NEVER say ANYTHING even remotely insulting about them...

Perhaps Andy and Helen will be snapping photos of all the fine looking Treefroggers in London...then coming out with the 'Exclusive Treefrogger Series,' a line of STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL figures for us to entice our wives into the hobby (lucky me, my wife is already the queen of it!).

Here are some of the exclusive poses that I expect to see:

  • Tony eating a Mars Bar (with Mars Bars sticking out of his pockets)
  • Rob in his trench coat and dark glasses (with lumps of K&C boxes protruding from under the coat)
  • Italian John Gambale looking ominous with a list of 'simple requests'
  • An 'Ultimate Fighting Cage Diorama' - several members can be added inside the fence for realistic fighting action (names excluded to protect the not so innocent )
  • Pandagen with a camera
  • Warrior (George) complete with table of goodies (what WOULD miniature versions of K&C miniatures look like??)
  • Louis - complete with baby in his arms, surrounded by small warbird miniatures
  • A small Streets of Hong Kong dio, complete with Bob Neville towering over the crowd with his video camera
  • Mike Neville driving the K&C UK 'van of goodies' to the London Show
  • Jazzeum with a whip to keep everyone in line
  • Oz holding a Fosters in front of an Outback Steakhouse facade with a look of 'You guys call THIS Australian??' on his face
  • Harry in front of a computer (how DOES he have time for all those posts )
  • Ron (our resident lobbyist) at lunch with a congressman, in a set entitled, "Subsidies for the Toy Soldier Industry"
  • Also available will be the 'I love my nation' series. Included will be the national flag along with a 'premium' selection of forum members from that nation (I suspect the South African set will be a wee bit smaller than some of the others...;)). Canada, Australia, USA, UK, China, SA, New Zealand....all available

Yes, this will be a VERY popular series...

The horror of it all

Don't forget the Strictly Limited 1:1 scale "Hand Model" in exclusive Peace Pastor turned Toy Soldier Retailer camouflage. :)

Aside from the humor injected by Pete, this thread makes me shake my head in wonderment. Andy in the last couple of months has released (or will shortly do so) Battle of the Bulge Germans and Americans, Arnhem, the Tunisian Tiger and WWI British and yet people want to know what is in December's dispatches .

There is just no way anyone could catch up or should try to do so. Probably about a year ago or Njja wondered whether all these releases and the concomitant purchases was healthy, especially for the purchaser who has bills, a mortgage and planning for the future to think about. I think the comment was well placed then and it is definitely well placed now.

However, the first thing some speculate about are what in December's releases. Aside from announcing the availability of what was in the prior month's dispatches, I hope no WW II is included in the December dispatches. I can't say we really need it nor is it necessarily financially healthy for us as a whole.

I agree....I hope Dec Dispatches say that KC is taking the month off to celebrate the Holidays and count all my $money$.

Hi Brad-

I hope that your wish will be granted but I doubt. Hard choices again.

Your friend,
Pierre.

I think most of us have eyes bigger than our tummies. Unless you are Bill Gates or Donald Trump you are going to find it almost impossible to keep up. One has to develop some sort of collecting discipline and stick to a theme or range. I think the Lt is an example to all of us. He collects one theme in depth. If you don't collect one or two themes in depth then you will end up with little bits of everything but nothing substantial. Until about twio years ago you just about keep up with K and C but now I am afraid you really have to be selective.

I tend to go along with most of your post Damian but I can't agree with "end up with little bits of everything but nothing substantial". That's only your opinion, and while you're perfectly entitled to express it, why should I choose only one or two ranges, and then collect EVERY figure, or accessory in those ranges come hell or high water?
Although our collection covers quite a few ranges, none of them are 100% complete because I've found that in every K&C range there's some figures that simply don't say "buy me"......not to me anyway. I choose those figures that I like out of each range because that's what flicks my switch.
If I were to begin collecting AWI, I'd probably only get the militia figures. Same with the presently existing WW1 range, I'd probably only get a few of the first release Germans - although if K&C were to make figures from WW1 conflicts that particularly interest me then this range could be the next biggie for me.
That's what I understand by being selective.

Why should you feel like you've anything to apologise for Rob? All you did was indulge in a wee bit of speculation and asked a perfectly civil question. Not your fault that people started throwing in their tuppence-worth about this, that, and the other.

With experience collectors tend to concentrate more on a particular theme such as World War Two.

When I started collecting over 35 years ago I used to buy whatever took my fancy. However after a few years I realised I had lots of random stuff with no common elements making display and appreciation of the pieces more difficult. It also served to make my pockets less full and my wife more angry.

However there are exceptions to every rule. For example, Pat is an experienced collector yet does not stick to an era or theme, but he's as crazy as a loon - just kidding Pat ;) :)

Well, whoop-de-doo for you.
If no-one minds, I'll just continue to collect whatever strikes my fancy. First I've ever heard that one simply MUST concentrate on any particular theme, just cos the self-appointed experts among us says so.
OMG, must go and lie down an reflect on the error of my collecting ways as pointed out by the more experienced and self-opinionated among our happy little band of brothers.

I’m curious Brad, why do you feel obligated to periodically tell the world they are spending too much money on the hobby?
