That's like the AFC West with Denver at 9-1 and the Chefs at 9-0 (have they played a team with a winning record yet by the way), imagine if the Chefs win the division and Denver finishes at say 14-2.

They're a wild card team and would go on the road to play what looks like the winner of the NFC North; say the Ravens finish 9-7 and win that division, they'd get a home playoff game.

What a joke, the system stinks, is broken and needs to be fixed.

You want to put a division winner in the playoffs automatically; great, then reseed the teams 1-6 based on record and start the playoffs that way.................

And speaking of stinks, Miami lost last night to the Bucs?

Philbin is as good as gone, but he'll get scooped up as soon as he's fired by State Farm, MetLife, New York Life, Liberty Mutual or Allstate for sure..........

The Chiefs have not played anyone with a winning record yet, the best tehy have seen is two 5-5 teams, Dallas and Philly. They do play Denver twice in the next 3 weeks so the NFL is about to find out if the Chiefs are for real.

That Monday night game was bad, really bad. At least this coming Monday we get The Pats v. The Panthers. That should be a good one.

Wow, two 5-5 teams, that's just awesome, what a powerhouse schedule they've played their way through to a 9-0 start.

And I heard Bowe, who was arrested for speeding and possession of weed, will play Sunday.

Classy move Andy.

I was going to slam the Chiefs for the Bowe situation until I realized that my Niners did the same thing with Aldon Smith. He was arrested on the Thursday before the Colts game on possession of marijuana and DUI but still played in that game. However, he sat out every game after that when we played sub-.500 teams and amazingly he was reactivated just in time for the showdown with The Panthers this last weekend. Somehow I do not think that was a coincidence.

Whatever it takes to win.

Stay classy NFL.

You can only play the teams on your schedule. 9-0 is still 9-0, nothing to sneeze at.

I see that Ed Reed has signed with the Jets. I was hoping the Redskins would go after him. He's got to have something left in the tank to help. -- Al

nobody loves Ed Reed as much as me, but after watching him in a few Texan games earlier in the year I think he just needs to call it a day and retire, he will not tackle head on, his speed is hit or miss, and he just seems out of place in the secondary when they were playing him, so this bouncing from team to team after being cut bothers me, hate to see him ruin his name and how he played for so long by hanging on to long...Sammy

I think he will be a plus for the Jets. He certainly can't hurt; the defense hasn't done well on turnovers. Moreover, he brings a lot of experience and knowledge (read that as coaching) that can only help. Maybe not that much left, but whatever there is we'll take it. It also doesn't look like he will be a starter.

Sammy:

I am with you on the tarnished legacy. I also agree with Brad in regards to Reed still having a little something in the tank. However, he is not even close to what he used to be and it really shows. I think there is a right way and a wrong way to leave the game and not everyone knows when to call it quits. Reed might be one of those guys who hangs on too long.

Don't get the Jets signing at all.

Like others have said, he's hanging on too long, from what I read, the Jets were the only team willing to take a flyer on him, so he landed there.

Ed Reed=Willie Mays.

And here I was thinking he chose the Jets as he saw it as his last shot at another ring......;)

It's a signing that has no downside. Anything he can provide will be a plus. Moreover, as indicated, he will not start. The Jets defense have not been good in takeaways. He's a ballhawk. If he gets one or two picks, it's a plus.

Maybe it's Rex's way of allowing a veteran whom he coached to go out on his terms than having his career ended by a team.

Again, I see both sides of it. My lasting memory of Reed will be from the Raven's Super Bowl win over my Niners. I hate him and Ray Lewis for it, but I respect the heck out of them as players for their skills and success.

About to throw the towel in on the WFL (Wussy Football League). A plague of flags thrown in the games today, and several on really stupid personal fouls called for touching the Qb or receivers. I saw 2 particularly bad calls where the Qb was pushed (not hit, but PUSHED) at the end of a play that caused them to fall down on their butts, drawing unneccesary roughness flags. This has all gone too far for me. Why doesn't the NFL just say 'no touching the Qb, ever' and be done with it? Put a red shirt on the Qb and say 'no touchies'. Same with these new 'horse collar' tackle penalties. Now the refs are calling penalties if the defenders even get close to the shoulders. Saw a few of those wuss calls today, too.
Flacco still has no clue.:rolleyes2:
Is it time for baseball yet?:wink2: -- Al

Good win for the Bears, what with the Lions losing and the Packers currently losing.

Another case of the bad Geno today. He's costing them a potential playoff berth.

Can the ravens find any other way to lose a game this season??? I'm so sick of seeing some second string/ rookie qb drive the ball late in the game to beat my ravens, flacco has got to be having his worse season yet, terrible decisions, no confidence in recievers or maybe it's the other way around?? Defense??? Please, can't get off the field in the big drives of the game to save thier life!!! so 4-6, in the celler and still have to play steelers, jets, bengals, lions, pats, chiefs...so I figure at this point 6-10 but 5-11 wouldn't surprise me, I guess all good things come to a end, and after 5 years in a row of playoffs it surely hit Rock bottom all at once, never thought I would be more excited about the Terps then the Ravens:(...Sammy

It looks like most of our teams lost today, The Redskins, Ravens, Jets and Niners etc. Hopefully George's Pats can win tomorrow so that we do not get shutout!

The Niners got some really bad calls today, but I am not going to blame the loss on that. Kaepernick's play really sunk us. He was 17 of 31 for 127 yards with two TD's and a pick. His QBR was 46.0. Those numbers do not equate to an elite QB. As others have pointed out this is a quarterback league and right now Kaepernick is just not getting it done. Niner fans and management can smoke screen it all they want by complaining about the refs, but at the end of the day we didn't deserve to win.

My son won't be happy about the 49ers score when I tell him. We didn't get the game here in NY so only got to see the last seven minutes. That roughing the passer call near the end was bogus; clearly a hit on the shoulders.

Brad:

Tell your son we will get them next time!

Besides that roughing the passer call, the non-call on the pass to Vernon Davis in the end zone was also tough to take. He was clearly held.

The AFC is bad this year for sure, if the season ended today, the good Gino, horrible Gino Jets are in the playoffs.

Ok then.

The Chefs are hanging in there with the Donkos, down 10 late, but there goes the last undefeated team if the score holds up, the 72 Doofins can pop another bottle of champagne, good for them, whatever.
