It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that the American entrepreneurial spirit lives on every time one of Boss Hogg's minimum wage serfs scrapes a greasy meat patty off the grill. Not only ensuring his own continued wealth but the future of the American health care industry through his tireless promotion of obesity and heart disease. In this respect, if no other, Boss Hogg has led by example. Now let us also honor Col. Sanders and Ronald McDonald for all their valuable contributions to our culture with a moment of silence sponsored by Budweiser King of Beers. Remember don't drink and drive unless you have no other choice and it is too far to walk.

Shows you how little attention I pay to fast food ads on TV; I just connected the dots and come to find out, Hardees is the company that uses all those absolute smoke shows in skimpy outfits taking a huge bite out of their burgers.........:rolleyes2:............yeah, those burgers must be delicious if the way they choose to market them is by having some Playboy model holding one in her hand wearing practically nothing......:wink2:......not that there's anything wrong with that..........^&grin.............{sm3}

football junkies want to talk about food now...

they need some kind of a fix now that the season is over...

this will eventually turn into a debate over which is best...

Chicago deep dish pizza or a Philly steak sandwich...

still armchair quarterbacks debating...

I could live on NY / Chi Pizza and Philly cheese steaks all day long.

BL,

My God those Baseball eats looks sinful and I am all about sinning. But, I must admit Mr. BL Reed...that...sniff...sniff...I have never been to a MLB game in person. Yup, I have never been to a game. I know, it is borderline communist. It is borderline un-American. And it is almost un-patriotic. But, I was poor man and never lived in a city that had a pro team. I have mentioned in this thread before that the only professional Football game I ever went to was a Bronco game when I was kid...as a guest.

Now, I have been to TONS of Spurs games, and International Soccer games but no...sniff..sniff...never a baseball game.

Can you believe it?

Caught the ESPN 30 for 30 last night on the 1985 Chicago Bears.

Man was that team loaded, arguably the greatest team of all time.

They fell apart after that season, never got back to another Super Bowl, the Payton and Duerson stories are sad.

As is the situation with Buddy Ryan, he's in very poor health, can no longer walk.

Good luck keeping it together the last ten minutes of that show if you watch it; specifically the players reading the letter Buddy had his caretaker write to his players.

Something else...................

Missed that but they were, in my estimation, the best defense ever. Some are comparing this Denver team to them and other great defenses (such as the Steelers) and based on how Denver handled the Patriots and Panthers, who can argue?

As a former minimum wage serf myself, I can state with absolute confidence that there is no better motivator for getting ones act together. That's the best way he/she can enter the workforce with an education and/or skill-set that commands more income. Otherwise one might believe the world owes them something just for existing, or that big govt is there to take care of their poor little soul.

FYI, the entrepreneur is the one that owns the restaurant. Aspire to more than you have, work hard to get it, treat others with respect, play fair but tough. Those are the hallmarks of successful people. Everything else is just an excuse.

ESPN has cut its ties with Draft Kings.

I caught part of the PBS program last night. It illustrated how these sites are slanted towards the big players. More than 80 percent of all players lose money. The big guys call these people fish or minnows while the big players are called sharks. Apparently, when online poker went under, the big poker players gravitated towards fantasy sports. It's a stacked deck, so to speak.

John:

San Antonio is a great sports town, except for the fact that they only have one professional sports team. A baseball team would be great, a football team would be even better.

Brad...

from what you're saying...

it makes the argument that this is a game of skill...not chance (gambling)...

not so much a "stacked deck"...

but a small select group of guys that are more knowledgeable...

still...

I can certainly live without it and it's overbearing, repetitive endless advertising...

Jason,

There is some serious momentum to get a MLS franchise here. Check out the San Antonio Scorpions franchise. They are on their way. My daughter practices right next to the complex. Soccer is HUGE here.

There's a report in the NY Daily News that Manning sexually assaulted a trainer while at the University of Tennessee and that the family had it hushed up.

There's a report in the NY Daily News that Manning sexually assaulted a trainer while at the University of Tennessee and that the family had it hushed up.

I just read the actual legal document (the trainer's opposition to Manning's motion for summary judgment). Its an argument over whether Peyton Manning, when a sophomore, deliberately shoved his naked butt and rectum at the trainer, over an sealed, so undisclosed to the reader, alleged earlier disagreement, or was mooning a fellow student, and accidentally exposed himself to her. Either way, it seems a little extreme for the Daily news to characterize it as a "sexual assault". I would be interested in knowing how the motion turned out (apparently Manning won the case). Did the Florida Court grant summary judgment to Manning or did he win the case before a Florida jury? In either event, it would seem that the fact finder (be it the court or the jury, neither of which, in Florida, would be likely to cover for a University of Tennessee Athlete) did not credit the trainer's story or found that it was legally deficient.

Even crediting her story, that he deliberately mooned her because he didn't like her, and she "called him an @ss", it hardly seems it could be qualified as a "sexual assault". As I recall, back in the 70's and 80's, streaking and mooning were pretty much laughed at as pranks, not prosecuted as sex crimes.

Just read this story and it sounds really ugly. There is a 74 page document available that covers the incident and the aftermath (cover-up). Don't know if it meets the legal definition of sexual assault as defined at the time of the incident or not, but it does sound like the kind of thing an immature teenager might have done out of a mean spirited sense of humor. Certainly no excuse for this kind of behavior, if it happened as described. -- Al

This story is getting a lot of traction; not sure what is worse, the story itself of the attempted cover up that followed, Manning should take his gift wrapped second Super Bowl title and go away and take that floor tile pizza and poor excuse for a beer that he shills with him.

And Louis, you need to dig a bit deeper as this is much move involved than mooning someone.

Much, much more...................it's disgusting to be honest what he did.

He's the only NFL player I know that's taken NASCAR advertising into the NFL, I'm surprised his helmet doesn't have Papa Johns, Budweiser and Nationwide Insurance stickers on it.

Really; retire old man, just retire...........................9 TDs/17 INTs and he wins another Super Bowl.

The mind reels......................

George,

I agree that he is absolutely nuts if he doesn't retire. I read the linked document, and the breakdown sounded to me like a deliberate versus accidental mooning of the trainer. However, as I indicated there was an entire earlier incident that was sealed and redacted that could be more serious. I don't know. I will say that while I have only heard really good things about Eli, I had heard Peyton was a manipulative jerk.

According to one of the accounts, Manning and Jamie Naughright, the victim, had a confidentiality agreement which, she claims, the Mannings breached. This alleged breach is why this has all come out now.

Correct; he actually has breached it twice...................and yes Louis, this guy is a total fraud.

Comes across one way on the field and with the press, but is totally different by all accounts off the field and behind closed doors.

Just go away as personally, I've had enough of him.

And Brady is by far still the better QB, so sit on it and spin Peyton.....................
